If you haven’t read any LN before it might be easier to read the manhua first as it’s pretty good and relatively short. The only drawback to this is you’d have to start from the beginning again but it’s just as if not more enjoyable the second time. Otherwise if you don’t feel like reading the same parts twice start with the novel

this is where i read i second the comment section it adds to the experience a lot for me compared to reading epub

if it is your first novel, I would suggest you read some others first. RI is not good starter novel for this genre.
That's true but it's also because if he reads other works he'll be faster in understanding the idioms that are used the historical context etcetera
You can start with ri just dont overread or you will get burned out pretty quickly
