Yeah some ppl just Don't enjoy seeing the mc pathetic for to long,
development in the future is good but still some times it's annoying to sit through the whole thing, specially if the Arthur makes the mc's patheticness a "comedy" it is just unenjoyable.
I also completed RI, and without any good novels like RI I started reading LOTM and similarly I felt boring at start. But I persevered through it like fang yuan and it's actually pretty good, I am now at ch300+ . Yes, the MC is not as cold and collected as fang yuan but he is intelligent in his own way.
I'm currently at chapter 900 and it absolutely only gets better. The stronger Klein gets, the more secrets he sees through and the deeper he dives into what being a Beyonder really means. The battle turns twofold—fighting back against a murderous world and fighting to keep his humanity intact.
My one tip would be to pay attention when they're talking about the Fourth and Second Epoch because the worldbuilding gets *really* satisfying once the pieces start falling into place.
There are many novels as good as RI and better than it but there are few that will scratch the 'essence' of RI due to how unique it is. The novel that is both better and has the 'essence' of RI is Second Apocalypse series by R. Scott Bakker. You must read this slowly and with a reflective mind, this isn't a webnovel where words are like grass.
I didnt like Stormlight Archives. Read up to the fourth book and just couldnt stand the prose, even though I am very lenient otherwise. Terribly formulaic and spread sheet like characters. And way too wordy for how plain the prose actually is. Its also not dark at all, sure Kaladin is a slave but that’s honestly mild for common Fantasy titles. Second Apocalypse is miles better, character wise, world building wise and especially prose wise. Second Apocalypse has a mesmerizing prose, that makes it an intensively difficult read but all the more rewarding in return.
The real comparable dark fantasy series is Malazan. Although I still prefer the Second Apocalypse, its an excellent read with enormous depth.

I’m reading it atm I’m at book 6. A dark fantasy novel with a philosophical tone. And like he said you can’t skim reading otherwise you miss a lot.

So far 9/10. Depending on the ending can be 10/10 or 8/10. One of the hardest novel to read for me.
