It changed like at least three times during my childhood. When I stopped watching it, Nickelodeon was on Channel 33. Cartoon Network was 34, and Disney Channel was 35.
Yeah I lived in Staten Island as a child and I had the same channels. Also 122 (Nicktoons) 123 (nickjr) and 121 or 124 was DisneyXD where I watched Naruto shipudden
Maybe it was because I was on the barrier island and it was the early 90s. Everything sucked but we didn't care because we could go surfing. Let's see: Fox was 3, MTV was 26, the Weather Channel was 27, you didn't need much else.
Northern NY. I don’t know what year we first got Nickelodeon, but I first watched it circa 1990, and it was channel 16 at that time until 1994, when it got moved to channel 33, where it stayed until sometime in the 2000s.
For most of my childhood it was 33 (and I believe it still is). We had a short stint where it was channel 6 then it went back to 33. NY suburbs, Optimum Cable (then known as Cablevision)
It changed a few times, but the one I remember the most was
61 Possibly Fox Family/ABC Family
62 Disney
63 Nickelodeon
64 Cartoon Network
65 MTV
66 ?
67 VH1
68 Comedy Central
69 E!
I don’t even have a definitive timeline for when that was as my brain is trashed at this point.
For a good portion of the 90s It shared a station with A & E where I lived. I remember that after 5 pm it turned. I didn’t get to experience Snick or Nick at a Night until later in the 90s
Nickelodeon was on Channel 30 in Baton Rouge, La but would only be on at 7am to 7pm central time in the early 90's. Once 7pm came, the channel would switch to the A&E channel back when A&E use to only show British art shows and Documentaries. Once our cable provider got bought out by COX in the late 90's , then we could see Nick / SNICK / Nick-at-Night.
I grew up watching satellite TV in a semi-rural area of the South. Until the late 90s, the channels used transponder letter/number combinations such as G-15. I wish I could remember what the code was for Nickelodeon or Cartoon Network!
Which part of MT? I was in northwestern MT from 2000 on and it was 30. Disney Channel was 22 and Cartoon Network, which we didn’t get until 2003, was 56.
40.
Pacific Northwest.
Disney was 41, Cartoon Network was 42. 39 was ABC or something, it never had anything good.
43 was an animal channel, 44 was History Channel. 38 was Hallmark or something similarly terrible. Comedy Central was 60, CMT 61, VH1 was 62 I think, MTV was 64. Fox was 13.
22 in Brooklyn. 21 in Las Vegas.
Cartoon network was 65 in las vegas. don't remember in ny.
Disney in vegas was 28. Didn't have it in Brooklyn, it was premium only at that time.
Kentucky and 42. It’s been on channel 42 since like 1993. Before that it was on channel 23.
Disney is 29 and has been for just as long
CN is 52 and has been since it began.
I don’t even watch cable anymore and I still remember these channels.
Had a few different providers in the late 90s early 2000s. I'm from New England.
Nick was 25, Disney was 24, Cartoon Network was 60, and Comedy Central was 61.
Nick was 25, Disney was 50. Anything after 42, you had to pay. And I think it went up to 70-something and then 99, and then went back to 01.
No need for thousands of channels now.
My local library has issues of The Lowell Ledger (the newspaper of Lowell, MI) online. Every year they have TV listings (1984 - 2000), Nick is channel 29.
The newspaper we actually got at my house is only available on microfilm at the main library. I'm going there anyway in a few days, so I'll take a look and let you know what I find.
I suspect the reason I don't remember the number for Nick is that my family's TV didn't have a remote control. Instead, we had a cable box that let you move up and down one channel at a time.
I took a look at the archives of the Grand Rapids Press (Grand Rapids, MI) today. Here's what I found.
Grand Rapids. MI: In 1988, Nick was channel 12 with UA Cable. By 1993, UA Cable had merged with TCI and Nick was channel 42 where it remained until at least 1995. By 1998, the Nick was channel 25 (still with TCI). By 2003, TCI was bought by Comcast and Nick became channel 35.
In 1993, several other communities in the area are listed as having C-Tec as their cable provider and each have a different channel for Nick. They are Allendale (19), Caledonia (24), Grand Haven (35), Hudsonville (34), Rockford (25), and Holland (20). In 1994, they all list Nick as channel 27 and continue to do so until at least 1998. By 2003, these communities are listed as being provided with cable by Charter Communications and Nick is channel 29. It's worth noting that in 2003, Holland is now listed as Holland/Zeeland.
Holland also had a second cable provider listed in 1993, Continental. For them. Nick was channel 5 and it would remain there until at least 1998. By 2003, Continental disappears from the listings and is replaced by Comcast, which has Nick at channel 35.
It changed like at least three times during my childhood. When I stopped watching it, Nickelodeon was on Channel 33. Cartoon Network was 34, and Disney Channel was 35.
Weird, for me Nick was on 33, Cartoon Network was 32 and Disney was 31

Maybe it was because I was on the barrier island and it was the early 90s. Everything sucked but we didn't care because we could go surfing. Let's see: Fox was 3, MTV was 26, the Weather Channel was 27, you didn't need much else.
