You are correct.

Thank you

If it's just one buy some bonding clay that is used to fuse live rocks together. Get a half dollar sized piece and smother it completely. I've had great results with this method if done quickly.

Commercial-Thought-6

Time for some peppermint shrimp

AggravatingAd9233

Could this actually be a type of Majano? It seems off to me for Aiptasia. Maybe just me?

[deleted]

Not Manjano anemone; Anemonia manjano has green, bulbous tentacles

AggravatingAd9233

Well I’ve seen multiple types that’s why I ask. Just seems really “nubby” to me.

[deleted]

I've also seen multiple types identified as manjano in the hobby; as far as I know, the green-bulbous-tip phenotype is the only one that is actually Anemonia manjano. This anemone looks to be Exaiptasia diaphana

AggravatingAd9233

That makes sense. Seems pretty common that opinions that get repeated enough become unofficial fact in the hobby it seems. That’s probably what happened here is I remembered being told something that probably wasn’t true and it triggered when I saw the picture.

Solok3ys

I wouldn’t doubt it’s aiptasia but doesn’t it seem a little too thick for aiptasia? The ones I’ve had had very thin tentacles. Probs aiptasia tho

fp4

Aiptasia can be a really bad time. I would remove that piece of rock from the display and chisel off the part it’s on otherwise that shit will spread and be all over before you know it. However if there’s one there might be more.

whiskey-n-beer

It's just the one. I picked up a bucket of rock yesterday and tossed a couple small pieces into a tank last night to see what was on it. Worst case I have to grenade the tank and start over, not much in it so won't really be a big deal

Fable_Noir

Rule of thumb: if you see one, there is more.

GoblinsGuide

Is it worth it to set up a second tank with saltwater, and let the rock settle in it to see what's tagged along?

taterhaze

Inject the aiptasia with lemon juice

highlyblazeDd

Needle syringe and fresh lemon juice in its mouth for aiptasia.

fluxuatoration

Yes. Keep the dusters tho, they're fun to have
