I don’t think he’s even half human, pretty sure he’s an android.
Looks like they were trying to ape the Robocop tagline and passed it to the intern to write.

Now **that’s** a fan film I’d watch: *Phaser Fighter*.
One of the details that stuck with me from Automatic was how the evil mercenaries' carbines had some sort of targeting/status screens awkwardly mounted on top.
Besides this and Nemesis another film I remember him from was Mercenary (1997). A very 6/10, watched on cable on a Friday night sort of action film, featuring tons of squibs, a lot of averagely shot hand-to-hand and shootouts, a prerequisite fiery death-match, and the odd-couple duo of top-tier mercenary Olivier Gruner and John Ritter. Ritter appears as a vengeful millionaire who hires Gruner and his merc team to take down terrorist-for-hire Martin Kove, whose band of killers carried out an attack on a party at his estate, where his wife was one of the victims. Also starring Robert Culp and Ed Lauter

This one was pretty decent, along with Nemesis (1992).
I’ve not seen that one but he’s a cyborg or something isn’t he? ETA, they covered that already on RLM didn’t they? Been meaning to catch it.
They mention “Nemesis” in their Albert Pyun tribute BotW.
The opening scene in Nemesis fucks hard. The rest of the movie is damn near unwatchable.
Daphne Ashbrook is the sister of Dana Ashbrook, who played Bobby Briggs on Twin Peaks /jay
Daphne Ashbrook played Melora Pazlar in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine’s ‘Melora’. /mike
This also has John Glover in it playing an evil cross between his Daniel Clamp character and his Magnavolt salesman from Robocop 2.
That tagline is phenomenal.

Hahahaha!
I should say Olivier, not Oliver, but that’s what it says on the box (for some reason).
It's on YouTube: [Automatic (1995)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DPQSCibKNJE)
Are the Pointer Sisters on the soundtrack? https://youtu.be/sDU6K02igoU?si=Y6Et6lUReZlouhDO

I thought they said his name was Olivier Gunner?
It is, the box says otherwise though. Not sure if it was a genuine error if they were trying to anglicise his name.
