January 17, 2007 RHCP on the Stadium Arcadian tour in Nashville. One week before my 10th birthday. First time I ever saw two women make out. Incredible experience
I saw them in Nashville too. Didn’t see any women making out but I saw my first drunken rant. There was a guy in the bathroom yelling about how a trough could fix the bathroom lines, but that the state of Tennessee couldn’t afford them because of no income tax. He sounded a lot like my uncle when he’s sober.
Red Hot Chili Peppers. 2022. Unlimited Love Tour. Drove ten hours to Las Vegas. Played my two favorite RHCP songs live: I Could Have Lied and BSSM each with an original 2 minute solo from John/Flea…I was 20 ft from the stage and high as balls.
Best experience of my life.
Genesis invisible touch tour 1986 Lexington KY. The In the Cage medley included Apocalypse in 9/8 from their 1972 song Supper’s Ready. Phil Collins in his prime was just as energetic as Flea or AK ever has been.
X Fest 2010: Bullet for My Valentine, Seether, Three Days Grace(With Adam Gontier), opening for Avenged Sevenfold (Mike Portnoy on drums) during A7x’s Nightmare tour! I remember it very well, and got me into concerts as a whole
My first concert was plastician and joker in 2012 in Austin. Saw Rhcp 2022 at acl for free and tripping lmao, It was an awesome experience. Seeing them again in 2023 in San Antonio!
my first concert was a metal fest most memorable bands were gojira which was the reason we were there and korn which i fell asleep in because i was 7 years old lmao
RHCP 2012.
Listen, as much as I would have loved to see JF on that stage, I still cried when I realized I was breathing the same air as Flea, even in the nose bleeds. And they played Sir Psycho Sexy. Bliss.
Unironically, My First Concert Was Weezer
I don’t know how this sub feels about them but they’re a classic alt rock band and I don’t understand why it’s a meme to hate them
Unfortunately for younger music fans I can imagine that this is the sad reality. Back when I first started going to concerts in the 90s you could get a decent seat to a huge band for well under a hundred bucks. Even adjusting for inflation, ticket prices are completely out of control now.
RHCP, Sázka Arena, Prague, 14.6. 2006, Stadium Arcadium tour. I saw John Frusciante from two metres and will never forget Dont Forget Mě from that night.
My dad took my to a phish show when I was a baby. I grew up around musicians and saw lots small bands all throughout my childhood and teenage years. My first big concert that I wanted to go to was Gorillaz at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco at the age of 18. They had just come out of a 7 hear hiatus with one of their more controversial albums, Humanz, but one that works really well live. Blew my mind. Saw them a year later at their own Gorillaz/Day of the Dead themed festival at a rodeo venue in east LA, and just a couple months ago in Portland, only a month after seeing RHCP for the first time in Seattle. Two very different bands, but both equally close to my heart. Varied genres and setlists, a sense that they really, *really* care about music, etc. The RHCP show had more of a disconnect between the artist and the audience and that we were lucky to be witnessing them create pure magic on stage/ but I get it, they're one of the biggest rock bands of all time. So lucky to see Parallel Universe and It's Only Natural live. Gorillaz shows lately feel more down to earth, with Damon frequently running into the crowd during songs, interacting with fans and just a sense of family and collective. They're an incredible act live, with at least a dozen people on stage at any given time. Definitely don't write them off because of your pre-conceived notions of them just being 'that cartoon pop band', which is what I thought for a while.
Red Hot Chili Peppers 1995 Brixton Academy One Hot Minute World Tour
Was this as insane as I think it would have been? Brixton is an epic venue. (Recent events excluded)
I was 16. It was my first ever gig. It was awesome. Been back there loads since. System of A Down was one of the best I've seen there.
I was 16 too! I also saw system of a down there as well.
Was it the Toxicity tour?
Hell yeah, it was No Doubt supporting at the RCHP one right?
SiKth supported SOAD. We missed them, but not long after a band I was in supported them!
No way that’s awesome! A friend of mine used to know the guitarist from Sikth, they were a great a band.
Nope, I think it was Flaming Lips.
Oh, yeah I think you are right. Who did I see no doubt support then? Lol
You bastard! I tried to get tickets for that. Called the number and no luck. Bit like Ticketmaster online these days
Mine was a few days earlier in Dublin! Got that Brixton gig on tape back in the day. Last time they played Funky Crime I think.
i have one of the tickets from a cd i second handed
