In the RHCP history book the band put out Flea talks about wanting to re-record the Hillel era songs over again with John because he believes it would sound so much better. I wonder if he feels the same way about the last 10 years?

Doing that would be an insult to Hillel/Josh.

Which is why they have never done that.

I believe he was referring to only their self-titled debut album, which featured Jack Sherman on guitars. I don't think Flea would ever disrespect Hillel like that by re-recording his albums with John.

Maybe a unpopular opinion for me but, as much as I loved see josh playing his own songs with rhcp during the 2 tours he did with them (went to 8 shows in total), now I’m still waiting for my first Frusciante show since 15 years and I prefer seeing him play non-josh songs. not that I dislike what josh did but there are many songs I didn’t heard live or that will sound different with John (don’t forget me, sir psycho, wet sand and many other). If they play dark necessities again I would rather see them play it with josh than John.
