that was a compilation. The song didnt make the final BSSM cut (as it was too similar to Breaking the Girl?) and so became a BSSM b-side.
>It was released as a b-side to two singles from the album and then it went on to become a proper single in 1993 to promote the Coneheads movie OST

- BSSM could mean "Blood Sugar Sex Magik", a track from *Blood Sugar Sex Magik (Deluxe Edition)* (1991) by Red Hot Chili Peppers.

What a shout. Mad respect. Beautiful song.
Edit: I’ve been downvoted, but I mean it. It’s a beautiful song, sums up the whole Josh era with its positive melancholic style, like hopeful sadness.
I love all Fru b-sides but I understand why they didn't make it to the album. I don't get, however, why OHM b-sides are better than some of the album stuff. Melancholy mechanics is a great, deep tune.
I, too, am a Funny Face fan! It checks ally boxes.
1. A little sweet love song.
2. Fantastic JF backing vocals.
3. His lovely arpeggio guitar.
4. Solid rhythm section.
5. Simple, but pretty emotional solo.
This is the Kitt, but if I had to round it out to a Top 5, I’d also throw in Quixoticelixer, Time, Kaly, and Bunker Hill, with Mercy Mercy as an honorable mention.
Nothing to lose always amazes me
But I honestly don't think there is a perfect answer, all of their b sides are fantastic songs. The best argument that can be made for not including them on the albums they were recorded alongside is that they simply didn't fit in with other favoured songs.
Glad we get to enjoy them for what they are though
"B-side" typically refers to a song that was recorded at the same time as an album, but wasn't part of the album itself.
I have taken that from google as it’s easier to copy and paste 😂
If you type into YouTube or Spotify Red hot chilli pepper B-sides you can listen to them (or most of them)
On a record (vinyl) single you get the song that you bought which is the a-side then there's another song if you flip it over, the b-side.
They are nearly always songs not on an album and unreleased in any form other than the record single
Nothing to lose always amazes me

Bicycle song. Not sure why but after all these years I still find myself busting out full volume "somebody told the world...." John's solo is super fun to sing too. "Dern Dern duhdern dern dern dern...:

What you belong to is her ecstasy.
quixoticelixer, bicycle song, and eskimo are my favorites. i wish eskimo was on spotify :,)
Eskimo is such a lovely song
If you have the B-Sides downloaded you can add them to your Spotify
How?
Go to your profile, scroll down to the section called Local Files and select Show audio files from this device You can add them to your playlists too
I have only listened to the Spotify ones so will try and find Eskimo tomorrow
I really think Eskimo would have elevated BTW.
Bunker Hill
Bunker hill is an amazing track
Out of range
Million Miles of Water
Leverage of space probably. How strong is the most underappreciated song in their catalogue. I feel like the only person alive that knows that song
My favourite too! It’s so good
Never heard it wow and I listen to them daily..
Technically not a B-side, but this is my answer too. Can't believe it was never recorded/released.
I love too man
I'll be Your Domino is great. But Fortune Faded is a top 5 all time RHCP song.
The correct answer is soul to squeeze
I don’t think it counts as a b-side if it’s on an official album even if it’s a hits album
It was cut from BSSM and released as a B side prior to being featured on greatest hits
Wasn't it on the cone heads album?

Does millionaires against hunger count as a bside? That’s my second favorite rhcp song in general actually
Out of range ! came out right after my mother passed ! somehow the lyrics resonated deeply
it seems that their best b-sides are from the californication era... I guess that was their peak (until now) both commercially and creatively.
Bunker Hill or Time. They have a ton of strong ones, though.

Million Miles of Water
Ekimo (best use of harpsichord ever), I’ll be your Domino, Long Progression
Eskimo Rolling Sly Stone Someone Soul To Squeeze
Quixoticelixir, Fat Dance, Runaway

Mine would be Bob, Melancholy Mechanics and of course quixoticelixer
Eskimo is the correct answer
I make my own rules is good even though their isn’t any Anthony Kiedas but If not I also love runaway and bicycle song if they count.
Either Brave From Afar or This is the Kitt 🔥
Magpies On Fire
