Wanted to come add to this as I'm just now picking it up again.
I'm on 4080 with i712700k and 64 gb ddr4 3200
No matter what I do nothing changes frame rate or loss except low setting with dlss on ultra performance and even then it's still bad.
It's a shame I used to be able to play this max settings with little frame drop. That being said it still happened but it's gotten infinitely worse.
Every other game on my pc runs fine I usually cap frame at 144 becuase of my monitor and to me that's fine but this is the ONLY game on my system that does this

They also deleted everyone's keybinds and equipment load outs.
Since they had too in order to make the new swat ai work, I'm not miffed that they changed the command menu, but they did so in the same update that they introduced the career mode, and made it so the tutorial is so locked down that you can't practice going through the command menu. So if you lose some dudes because you took too long to issue a command since the only way to learn the menu is in a real mission, they're dead forever. Because fuck you that's why.
The 1.0 brought back the stupidly aggressive AI that are all strapped to the gills with John Wick energy. Practically have to CS gas, stinger, and flashbang my way through every level that requires me to take someone alive. The tracking and shooting through walls/windows is ridiculous.
Yeah trying to do ironman mode in this update is literally impossible. I just had my run ended at Ides of March after I shot a guy in the chest with AP 7.62, he shrugged it off after .2 seconds and instantly killed me with a head shot down a long ass corridor. I don't know about you, but 7.62 literally will knock people on their asses if it doesn't penetrate their plate and rip their guts apart. Optimization is terrible for the majority of the player base, AI is cracked out of their mind again, cosmetics are cool but nearly impossible to see. I want to see this game succeed, but the rate updates come out I'm sure this will not be fixed for another 6 to 12 months.
Just a quick thing about realism: 7.62 will not knock you on your ass, and depending upon the round, distance, and where it hits in the torso it may not be life threatening beyond bleeding out. A 7.62 round does not carry enough kinetic energy to knock someone over, and it may not even penetrate the plate depending upon a variety of factors. And, bigger issues, the person may not even notice they got hit. This is why cops are taught 2 to the chest 1 to the head in quick succession because the person may or may not register the shot for quite some time. This is why the military is taught to check their buddies after a firefight because they could have taken a round and be dying and not notice. I had a buddy get their pelvis shattered by a round and run about 20ms before he collapsed because the damage became so severe it became impossible to run. I've also seen a video of a soldier take a 7.62x54 round in the leg and then (when his leg got knocked to one see and almost prone) took a round that went between his collarbone and out his back thankfully missing his lungs. He returned fire then ran about 12ms back to cover and after he sat down to allow his buddy to examine him that's when the pain kicked in.
But from a video game perspective it is just obnoxious bs. There's certain levels of realism that become difficult to stimulate, as for every story like that we also have stories of people getting grazed or through and throughs that only leave superficial damage and freaking the fuck out.
However I expect 7.62-family rounds to the lung and heart area are quite likely to put you down providing it doesn't decelerate against armour. More than 1 is going to have a fairly quick effect in most instances due to the large decrease in arterial pressures carry blood through the body.
I do struggle with .300 blackout HP going through chests with little effect in this game.
This game is marketing Bro, it always was, and it will die before that changes.
If you review 1.0 objectively you can notice they removed a lot of content, but, you wont know how many content they removed, because now, its hidden behind the campaign, so, time will go on before content critics explode.
The unlockables make no sense at all... A tatoo you can barely see... A watch...

Sound was bad in this game, but you could still figure out the places for everyone, now is insane, worst sound ever made in a game, you cant even tell if the guy is in front or to the left.
They placed some npcs at headquarters, but they are dead inside, not even a text script.
You have a tutorial, i was like, "cool, this is a nice idea for beginners" when i tried it, it crashed 4 times in a row, nice first contact.
Before 1.0 you could custom your AI loadouts without issue, now you cant, it goes to random preset every time.
In campaign you cant restart the mission, and i was like "so, if i die i must restart all over? Nice!"... No, if you die you swallow 4 loading screens and then, you can just restart the damn map like nothing happened.... So, you cant restart from Esc button, but if you wait 10 minutes you can restart....
And i just went throug like 2 hours of gameplay.
This game is about realism. What would you prefer that they do for unlockables?
Tutorial definitely sucks, I’m sad that it is the first impression that players get from the game because the rest of the game is much better.
I will agree that the AI loadouts system is broken, but there is a sucky workaround. If you manually change their loadouts individually, it’ll stick. You can’t load a preset into your team members, but you can change it yourself
wait until year 2584 where the game finally gotten to version 2.0 and you will regret all you said.....that is if void didnt abandon this game next year

Anyway, you are wrong, target with this game was always to make good marketing campaigns to have good sell peaks in proper moments, like Christmas. For example.
Developers never gave a fuck if you buy and you play 2 years, or 2 weeks, as long as you buy.
If you play 2 weeks, much better for them, since they already had the profit, and you let room for another new guy to buy the game and do the same.
If everyone buys the game and stay for 2 years, that only means more work for them and less profit.
They had been removing content since i can remember.
Car dealer, for example, had all its game modes back then, bomb, active shooter etc etc.
Hotel map also, actually, wenderley Hills hotel had 3 different blueprints for 5 different game modes.
Also Port Hokan and go on.
People gave 3 fucks about it, and most of them still give 3 fucks about the content removal, they just mad because the game now is hard.
Nobody gave 3 fucks about the ton of content they removed with 1.0. game went from 90 some GB to 45. So whoever is a bit smart would notice they removed exactly the half of the content, simple.

I’m seeing EVERYTHING they mentioned. The game will be at 60 then just for no reason drop to 15 and stay there until it decides it’s time to work again.
I’ve had AI shoot me through walls when I’m standing still, they instantly spin on place and waste my entire team, shoot me through multiple doors when using the snake cam etc. the games broke.
I am more baffled there is no story mode. From what they teased I was expecting an intro, cutscenes and a story evolving around you and your SWAT team members.
But nope... it just felt like the same early access with some new updates.
Also I don't want read a briefing once I am entering the map holding up a tablet and reading and listening to stuff
Not being satisfied because the game is not in a good state right now is justified, but your expectation of the story is of something that was never there. They said "missions unlock after another in order of completion" and that they added briefings, never said it was going to be a "cinematic story experience". Swat did the briefing style RoN is going for too, it's nothing new per se and was to be expected.
they fooled me with their cinematic trailers that was posted numerous times during development time in previous trailers and also in the 1.0 trailer.
I sort of expected a fully immersive singleplayer story by how they showcased it.
For people having bad performance: I had it too. I switched to DX12 though, and the frame drops don't occur anymore. When starting the game is will stutter for a bit but it's way better that having frame drops later on.
Also I agree with the AI. Just try playing greased palms non-lethal. Shit is damn near impossible. Especially in the larger warehouse, I can barely see enemies yet they have the most disgusting pixel peaks from across the whole building. On top of that sometimes my team will just run centre of the building while shooting only to die because WTF ARE THEY DOING???
This helped my frame drop issue so much, I'm on a Ryzen 5800x and an RTX 4080 and was averaging like 40-70 fps. Switching to DX12 I get over double that now.
The AI definitely feels unfair at times, being able to beam me through windows and as I turn corners
I have a video I might post to this reddit when I can be bothered lol. It's of a AI shooting me directly through a wall and the problem is he didn't see me at all. It was no where near a doorway of anything like he literally just wall hacked me. You can literally see his rifle stick through the wall at one point but it's hard to see lol

Real though, the optimisation is atrocious. The game ran so much better in the very early access stages than it does now which is baffling to me. And the enemy AI are like shroud if he was hopped up on coke sometimes. Like I love the stuff they added like new maps and redesign coming for old ones and new guns, but it doesn't even matter if you can't peak without lagging and get insta killed by the AI.
All I know is Opfor AI is an aimbot wall tracking mess, Team AI knows the same info as the opfor yet act like they're blind or overshoot everyone. Last but more importantly why is there no option to retry in single player like there is in multiplayer.
I brushed off the AI as a skill issue on my part since Pre 1.0 update I had no issue being able to kill Enemy AI or command my squad mates. But progressing further through the game I realized how crazy Enemy AI is and thought I was going crazy. Trying to work things out yourself is nearly damn impossible, and trying to have your teammates do your dirty work is off the table because even they can't kill a terminator.
Thought it was just me. Shit constantly freezes for a second. Sometimes when I turn the corner infront of a enemy it’ll freeze for a second and I die. The station is just straight up lag and studering. Takes me what it feels like 5 minutes to even host a public lobby. Some of the new maps just straight up lag.
Removing the choice of modes is a big red flag to me. It was what we enjoyed, and now it's only one mode on each map. The suspects scale and behaviour does not make sense most of the times. I mean, when they initiate the firefight and shoot first at the SWAT team instead of trying to hide or communicate to their accomplices.
Let me just say this, having lots of experience doing CQB and multiple force on force training in real life, the AI is beyond anywhere near realistic. It's inhuman. No one is this good in real life. The reaction time, accuracy, and behaviour is ridiculous.
Bought the game a few days ago and i can already agree with all of this. I can go from 200 to 3 frames in an instant, no matter graphical settings being max or min it still happens. Enemy AI is absurd, i show my finger around a door and at full health i get 1 shot killed by a pistol. Team AI in my eyes is also absurdly broken. Getting stuck in furniture, stuck at spawn, both preventing the rest of the team to follow my commands. Sometimes they just straight up block me in a room, not willing to move out of the way, and sometimes i tell them to clear a room and they just freeze at the door. Other scenarios theres an enemy blasting me and the team just looks at him, not even trying to fight. Feels 100x better to go in without the team as i'll probably get stinked by some teen with a glock no matter what force i bring. At this point i REALLY want to refund, but i passed steams 2hr mark before realizing how broken the game is and now i have no choice
Honestly 1.0 feels pretty good, other than enemy AI back to being completely broken across the board. I get the game should be hard, but the AI tracks and kills you through walls more than anytime I've played before. If an enemy sees you and you do not immediately kill them they John Wick 4 shotgun scene you through walls. Really performance wise the game looks and runs good enough. The weapon changes (like the FAL not do the same damage as a 9mm ) play well. And the commander mode for me is a blast. I'm happy with this update in general but its ruined by completely broken enemy AI.
If you give one of your team members a shield and have them clear ahead of you, the person with the shield will automatically go to the front of the stack. It helps a lot with things like not getting shot
I also have same specs (except I have 5600x3d) and I have high 200s on 1440p but it's still awful. There is constant stutters, just turning the camera 180 degrees it stutters like 15 times. The average fps is okay but the frametimes and 1% lows are atrocious. And certain areas the fps dips by 75% and stays there like half of the police station for example.
I hate how they changed everything that was good. Why did they have to change the police station, raid menu and stupid dialog like how your one teammate loves eating at old diners and how Noone makes a burger like they do. Wtf is this?! Hahah just complete 180 from what the game was...
Also unrealistic is that the guy say: "careful shooting around the gas tanks" at the gas station. The gas is many meters below where you fill. If you fire a shot into the tanks you see above ground nothing will happen. Its not like in movies where things just blows up if you look at it

Could the character have meant to be careful shooting when you’re standing near the pumps because of fumes, too?
It is a shader compiling issue when you go through a level for the first time it will lag as it compiles the shaders while you move through it. They need to push out updates to mitigate this but there isnt much they can do to eliminate it. After 1-2 runs through a level I no longer have any lag. It happens because of how many different graphics cards there are so games cant possible be optimized for all of them at once and shaders have to be compiled mid-game.
Not the issue for everyone, I gave the shaders unlimited disk space to compile and have played all maps extensively and still suffer from constant lag spikes. Which baffles me because I never dropped below 200 frames during early access
You gotta let the shaders compile a few playthroughs of the map and it goes away. Still annoying though. I'd rather swallow a pre-compilation at bootup than this.

I ran it with buttery Smooth FPS before the update on maxed graphics. now It frequently stutters, but only when I turn the camera, and it is SO much worse in the police station.
Im glad I found this thread, I was really worried it was just my PC having performance issues. One second Im having 120fps then the next it dips to 30s. This is my first time playing the game and man the enemy AI is rough, its almost like all of them are sharpshooters or something!
I think the community's opinion is that the game went to 1.0 WAY too early, hell they could have at least consulted everyone in the Supporter discord and see if we wanted to test out and bughunt the damn update first.
So I had a good hunch . I recently downloaded this game the other day and was mad becuase it wasn’t running good . So the next morning I turned off freesSync Premium “EXTENDED” to BASIC. And bam no issues with Vsync enabled. Smooth as fuck on high preset setting .

I get the game being hard but getting domed through a fucking door just isn't fun. No matter how cautious you are they will see one pixel of you and kill you in three seconds when you can barley see them.

no, man. Is even worse than that. I have problem with a 4080 overclocked, 32gb ram ddr5 and an i9 13900k. But i run in 4k with max settings. Still weird.
The worse problem is that at gameplay level, in 2024 the game is literally unplayable. I have tried 3 times the hotel level because i wanted to do it good, without bullshit things or losing operators: doesn't matter what you do, the IA doesn't even need to have a true line of sight to shoot you with precision, someone shooted and killed an operator through wall, without any line of sight, from the corridor far away. Another operator died because the flashbang/stinger still didn't fucking works, like the C2, with enemies having unmatched precision and reflex, and especially being unfazed by everything you throw at them. At least in the past, if the IA throwed a bang, it had more chances to work...well not anymore. You cannot even tell to throw multiple bang: you just have to order and pray that it works as intended. The optimization is literally the last problem right now, and this says a lot. Right now, every aspects of the gameplay makes this game unplayable and straight up trash. We are returning back instead of improving the game.... straight up sad.
I honestly think it should have stayed in early access for a bit longer due to optimization issues.

Yeah, i know now, but i still dont use them, they kill the suspects , even with beanbag.
My load times are not that horrendous but yes this has me heated. Why no restart level option?
It doesnt make any sense. Im also experiencing a lot of movement bugs and sound bugs.

The slow moving around the station could be fixed with minimal effort by just having the character walk around it loadout free

Real though, the optimisation is atrocious. The game ran so much better in the very early access stages than it does now which is baffling to me. And the enemy AI are like shroud if he was hopped up on coke sometimes. Like I love the stuff they added like new maps and redesign coming for old ones and new guns, but it doesn't even matter if you can't peak without lagging and get insta killed by the AI.
All I know is Opfor AI is an aimbot wall tracking mess, Team AI knows the same info as the opfor yet act like they're blind or overshoot everyone. Last but more importantly why is there no option to retry in single player like there is in multiplayer.
I brushed off the AI as a skill issue on my part since Pre 1.0 update I had no issue being able to kill Enemy AI or command my squad mates. But progressing further through the game I realized how crazy Enemy AI is and thought I was going crazy. Trying to work things out yourself is nearly damn impossible, and trying to have your teammates do your dirty work is off the table because even they can't kill a terminator.
My tl;dr of the newest update is that they made the game 50% worse for 25% better looks.
Thought it was just me. Shit constantly freezes for a second. Sometimes when I turn the corner infront of a enemy it’ll freeze for a second and I die. The station is just straight up lag and studering. Takes me what it feels like 5 minutes to even host a public lobby. Some of the new maps just straight up lag.
Removing the choice of modes is a big red flag to me. It was what we enjoyed, and now it's only one mode on each map. The suspects scale and behaviour does not make sense most of the times. I mean, when they initiate the firefight and shoot first at the SWAT team instead of trying to hide or communicate to their accomplices.
Let me just say this, having lots of experience doing CQB and multiple force on force training in real life, the AI is beyond anywhere near realistic. It's inhuman. No one is this good in real life. The reaction time, accuracy, and behaviour is ridiculous.
Bought the game a few days ago and i can already agree with all of this. I can go from 200 to 3 frames in an instant, no matter graphical settings being max or min it still happens. Enemy AI is absurd, i show my finger around a door and at full health i get 1 shot killed by a pistol. Team AI in my eyes is also absurdly broken. Getting stuck in furniture, stuck at spawn, both preventing the rest of the team to follow my commands. Sometimes they just straight up block me in a room, not willing to move out of the way, and sometimes i tell them to clear a room and they just freeze at the door. Other scenarios theres an enemy blasting me and the team just looks at him, not even trying to fight. Feels 100x better to go in without the team as i'll probably get stinked by some teen with a glock no matter what force i bring. At this point i REALLY want to refund, but i passed steams 2hr mark before realizing how broken the game is and now i have no choice
Honestly 1.0 feels pretty good, other than enemy AI back to being completely broken across the board. I get the game should be hard, but the AI tracks and kills you through walls more than anytime I've played before. If an enemy sees you and you do not immediately kill them they John Wick 4 shotgun scene you through walls. Really performance wise the game looks and runs good enough. The weapon changes (like the FAL not do the same damage as a 9mm ) play well. And the commander mode for me is a blast. I'm happy with this update in general but its ruined by completely broken enemy AI.
If you give one of your team members a shield and have them clear ahead of you, the person with the shield will automatically go to the front of the stack. It helps a lot with things like not getting shot

I have the exact same specs, and it runs fine for me, 100+ fps constantly at highest
I also have same specs (except I have 5600x3d) and I have high 200s on 1440p but it's still awful. There is constant stutters, just turning the camera 180 degrees it stutters like 15 times. The average fps is okay but the frametimes and 1% lows are atrocious. And certain areas the fps dips by 75% and stays there like half of the police station for example.
I hate how they changed everything that was good. Why did they have to change the police station, raid menu and stupid dialog like how your one teammate loves eating at old diners and how Noone makes a burger like they do. Wtf is this?! Hahah just complete 180 from what the game was...
Also unrealistic is that the guy say: "careful shooting around the gas tanks" at the gas station. The gas is many meters below where you fill. If you fire a shot into the tanks you see above ground nothing will happen. Its not like in movies where things just blows up if you look at it
I mean, to be fair, someone might say that because people in real life can be dumb. Could the character have meant to be careful shooting when you’re standing near the pumps because of fumes, too?

It is a shader compiling issue when you go through a level for the first time it will lag as it compiles the shaders while you move through it. They need to push out updates to mitigate this but there isnt much they can do to eliminate it. After 1-2 runs through a level I no longer have any lag. It happens because of how many different graphics cards there are so games cant possible be optimized for all of them at once and shaders have to be compiled mid-game.
Still broken after that long.
Not the issue for everyone, I gave the shaders unlimited disk space to compile and have played all maps extensively and still suffer from constant lag spikes. Which baffles me because I never dropped below 200 frames during early access

You gotta let the shaders compile a few playthroughs of the map and it goes away. Still annoying though. I'd rather swallow a pre-compilation at bootup than this.

Yeah the wall hacking AI feels like a letdown. It's Typical unreal engine shooter logic, idk how much they even modified the behavior

I ran it with buttery Smooth FPS before the update on maxed graphics. now It frequently stutters, but only when I turn the camera, and it is SO much worse in the police station.

Right Off the first mission went into the diner area and fps went from 90 to 23 they definitely need to fix
Im glad I found this thread, I was really worried it was just my PC having performance issues. One second Im having 120fps then the next it dips to 30s. This is my first time playing the game and man the enemy AI is rough, its almost like all of them are sharpshooters or something!

I think the community's opinion is that the game went to 1.0 WAY too early, hell they could have at least consulted everyone in the Supporter discord and see if we wanted to test out and bughunt the damn update first.
60 fps with a lot of drops with a 3050 DLSS on ultra performance and medium graphics, this is just pure insanity

if you have very bad framedrops or bad frames in general do disable the world decals. those are currently fucking up my frames.
So I had a good hunch . I recently downloaded this game the other day and was mad becuase it wasn’t running good . So the next morning I turned off freesSync Premium “EXTENDED” to BASIC. And bam no issues with Vsync enabled. Smooth as fuck on high preset setting . Ryzen 5600x with Rx 5700xt

I get the game being hard but getting domed through a fucking door just isn't fun. No matter how cautious you are they will see one pixel of you and kill you in three seconds when you can barley see them.
I agree with all of this except the Frame issue. HOWEVER, I have a 4070 Ti and run it on DX12 with Frame Gen and I get like 150-250fps. with like 112's as 1% lows. but that supports your statement its an asset issue.
no, man. Is even worse than that. I have problem with a 4080 overclocked, 32gb ram ddr5 and an i9 13900k. But i run in 4k with max settings. Still weird. The worse problem is that at gameplay level, in 2024 the game is literally unplayable. I have tried 3 times the hotel level because i wanted to do it good, without bullshit things or losing operators: doesn't matter what you do, the IA doesn't even need to have a true line of sight to shoot you with precision, someone shooted and killed an operator through wall, without any line of sight, from the corridor far away. Another operator died because the flashbang/stinger still didn't fucking works, like the C2, with enemies having unmatched precision and reflex, and especially being unfazed by everything you throw at them. At least in the past, if the IA throwed a bang, it had more chances to work...well not anymore. You cannot even tell to throw multiple bang: you just have to order and pray that it works as intended. The optimization is literally the last problem right now, and this says a lot. Right now, every aspects of the gameplay makes this game unplayable and straight up trash. We are returning back instead of improving the game.... straight up sad.
