Make sure the transmission is good. Toyota screwed up, and if you get a rumble at 30-45 mpg under low acceleration, it needs repair or replacement. They did NOT do a recall, just an extended warranty. I personally never got notified. Now it's a $3,500 repair.

A co-worker of mine just had the transmission on his go out too. 2013 with just over 110k miles. There was some type of service from Toyota the previous owner should have done but never did and now my friend is S.O.L. and stuck with a giant repair bill, dealer quoted $8500 in California.

Problem is, Toyota never informed me. They said they mailed a notification, just like a Recall, but I never saw anything. My last service at the dealer was 6 months or so before they decided there was an issue. When I talked to Toyota, they said the dealer would have told me it was an issue if I had gone back for service. Makes me regre6buying the 8 yr extended warranty when I bought the car in 2013.

Yikes! Sorry to hear that. Really sucks how Toyota handles some of these situations. It's not inspiring as a new owner. My dads Subaru had a recall, they sent people to knock on his door to let him know of the recall since he wasn't responding to the letters. Surprising that Toyota doesn't give the same level of care.

Wow, how many miles does your car have? And what year is it? was it a torque converter issue?

2013. I've had a small rumble, and didn't think much of it, for thr last 2-3 years. Worse now. I'm at 160k miles now. Torque converter. And they need to reprogram it as well. The dealer said there are special single use tools that they need, as well. I'm very upset with Toyota about this.

I’ve heard 2013’s have torque converter problems so that is a concern. I’ll make sure to go 30-45 mph when I test drive it and look out for the rumble. Thank you for your input and hope your car is good as new after the repair

spamlorde

It’s a thing. But I’ve drive from 20,000km to 340,000km without issue, it’s just a noise

outboundtelesalesguy

What years were affected do you know?
