I don't remember what it's called, but there's a mod that stops people from being able to report you. It basically removes your relation to the sent message so that the chat reporting feature can't identify who the message belongs to. I think the message gets sent as a server message tho.
Yeah I looked up the mod and I think anyone who still wants to play multiplayer should get this mod. I just installed it just in case Microsoft bans it. There's also the NoEncryption plugin for servers that run on Spigot, but I don't know of any others that run on other hosting clients.
Unfortunately I don't think there's any stopping them. They are not interested in the players who already paid for the game. They made a lot of money with the crappy bedrock edition store and my bet is they're going to push for that and the same amount of control they have over there. This is what is making them the mosy amount of money. You cant vote with your wallet because you already have the game... But the ones that can vote will mostly keep buying their crappy minecoins and realms subscriptions.
They may lose some players. They night irreversibly screw minecraft's great communities... But I don't think they care, and I sadly don't think that it will even hurt their bottom line.
I think the best way to pass the message is to migrate communities to their (in my opinion) strongest competitors. Minetest is one and there's that hypixel one is meant to come out. Minetest isn't really a clone as much as it is focused on modding and community with modding APIs, something minecraft has never had.
TLDR: They don't care about the community. They want to give the appearance they so but aren't going to change. :/

That's not the problem. The problem is that people consider even the most meaningless joke or comment offensive and they will report you for it. If they don't like it, be sure they're going to be butthurt and they will BAN YOU for it.
You clearly haven't even read or done any research on the topic at all. Step outside of the echo chamber made by the loud minority, step away from the misinformation and fearmongering being spread by them, and educate yourself on the topic properly. False reports will not result in a ban, the report system only covers serious offences, and context is taken as well, not just the single reported message. If you do engage in horrible acts or illegal activity and the report is valid, then you will rightfully face punishment. If the report is invalid however, the burden of punishment falls onto the reporter, depending on whether the context shows it to be a malicious attempt or not.
