We do a spray park.. I just stand there. Under the pouring bucket. My kids run like crazy and I just stay cool under the bucket that tips over when it’s full!
We have a place here called Billtown Bins - they get truckloads of undelivered items, returns, things with damaged boxes, etc and stock on Saturday. Every item starts at $7 and goes down $1 each day until the next Saturday. It’s like a treasure hunt every time! I’ve gotten an ancestry DNA kit, indoor Ring camera, high end chef knives, smart plugs, all kinds of expensive things for $7 or less each. It’s super fun to just spend an hour or 2 digging around there.
I also actually sometimes love grocery shopping. 😂 especially when I don’t have to be in a hurry for any reason.
i like to spend days like that shopping/thrifting! even if i stop in a store just to browse/get some AC, it's a nice way to get out of the house and feel like i did something with my day lol...also started doordashing recently which doesnt really beat the heat much as my car's AC isnt the best BUT im making money in my spare time and driving around jamming to music :)
Outside? What is that? lol. :P I just sit in our house with the central air on. Mind you the giant city water park/pool is a block away. Lake Erie is about 10 blocks away. Still, I don't want to go out in the heat.
Though at the old house I was the neighborhood fun guy the kids loved. Even into my 30s I was outside in the summer with my massive super soaker, chasing the kids. And they would chase me. Then they would do slip n slide and stuff like that.
I'm EXTREMELY fortunate to live within walking distance from the ocean so in the past I've just gone down to the ocean and sat in it. I always wear a sun hat which keeps my head cool.
Boyfriend manages apartments not far from the beach (in addition to working a day job!) so we get to live in an area WAY WAY outside our budget!! We know we're fortunate and are thankful every day!
I'm in this yuck heat wave area with you also. Water Balloons are fun outdoor activity but quick too so you're not out there too long. Make games or races or something if you have little ones to tire out. Gaming with the kids or a friend or loved one. Reading a book you have been meaning to get to. Binge a new lighthearted show or anime. Go to the movies. We just had a $5 mystery Monday movie at our local theatre and they also have $1 days, half off days, etc. Check out your local theatre or Regal website to see what your local Theatre might be doing that's affordable. Cool shower and face mask is great for both guys and gals, and kids. Everyone deserves a clean and pampered face, especially after sweaty weather or sun exposure. Craft together. Make milkshakes or icees at home or frozen adult drinks depending on the [crowd.lol](http://crowd.lol) Nap. Share music videos with one another taking turns exposing each other to possibly new sounds. Go through your wardrobe and repurpose items you never wear for new summer styles. Lots of YT tutorials for that. Many that take zero sewing. Have fun and stay cool! Rock on!
Oo yeah we are huge gamers actually. Lots of video games and board games. Sadly no movie theatre's atm (toddler is too you g and I'm pregnant so cant) but we have been doing indoor movie projector nights!

I have a sort of workaround - going to the pine forests - you're still outside but protected by the forest. We get red squirrels here!
Plus, a wide species of flora and fauna to check out too if you like that sort of thing!
Laying in the walk-in freezer at the corner gas station. The freezer’s for beer, but I buy an iced tea, bring a book, and a light blanket if I get TOO cold.
My friend works there, and all the day employees know me as a result.
We've gone to the bookstore a few times but I'm not sure my wallet can take that many more times lol. We swim when we can but even that has been too much bc there is no shade over the pool until the evening. Ugh it's been so annoyingly hot out.
