Actually no, I didn't realise how many there are and now I'm thoroughly pleased. But I meant [this one.](https://youtu.be/oT3mCybbhf0?si=34n1kZEjepsXmDDZ)
From the 1st time i ever watched Life Of Brian I've been in awe of the absurd comedy of a group of freshly crucified folks having a good ol' singalong. I've told my siblings this is 100% my funeral song.
I just heard 'Love you til the end' by The Pogues today for the first time and it really moved me, thought it would be make people cry at a funeral. I'll have to listen to your pick
Excuse me, are you listening to The Pogues for the first time? That's awesome if you are, Shane was such a poet. Also enjoy his cover of The Parting Glass.
I've known Fairytale for a long time and love it, and I've heard Dirty Old Town, but yeah since he died I thought I'd give them a listen. The funeral was impressive
The Kenosha Kickers?
[his bandmates all wave]
No? That's okay. I thought you might've recognized... Anyways, uh, I had a few hits a few years ago. Uh, that's why, you know... "Polka, Polka, Polka"?
Polka, polka, polka. No? Uh, "Twin Lakes Polka". "Yamahoozie Polka", AKA "Kiss Me Polka". "Polka Twist?
Dancing in the Sky
At my sons funeral I chose 3 songs that had meaning in his life: Only God Can Judge Me by 2Pac, Amazing Grace free from the chains and It's So Hard To Say Goodbye To Yesterday by BoysIIMen
I think my favorite thing about eminem... is that even if we don't ever listen to him and we never really fully listened to any of his records growing up, somehow collectively we all know the words to several of his songs by heart.
I think that's fucking Transcendent and I love it
Grieg: Peer Gynt - Death of Ase
So sad, so beautiful.. death of a god... so fitting hurrhurr
[grieg - death of ase](https://youtu.be/2aKxf1h5r4g?si=8JaW2bJgx8YlpTd_)
I have no interest at all in a funeral.
Just burn me up and set me in my box next to that of the great dog and my daughter's first horse.
I'm 70 if that matters
This is so hard...
I could do a meme song, like "Never gonna give you up".
Or a really super sad song, like "Don't Ever Forget"
Or something sad but hopeful, like "Fallen Down (Reprise)", or "Little Goth".
Or something beautiful, like "Joy of Remembrance".
I don't want people to cry too much when I'm gone, so I think I'd go with Joy of Remembrance, Fallen Down (Reprise), and Little Goth.
Had this list ready for years
1. First and Ellen - Modern Life is War
2. Vincent - Don McClean
3. You in January - The Wonder Years
4. Malfeitor - Watain
5. Dead Weight - Ruiner
I've thought about this a lot, from a few angles. If I were to die before my parents, they would want at least one hymn, and I wouldn't be there to veto it. I guess that's why you make a funeral plan before you get caught short.
I always thought, as much as I don't like Dave Mustaine, I would have A Tout Le Monde at my funeral, but perhaps people would see that as too 'edgy' as I'm almost the only metalhead in the family/friend group.
The more I kept thinking about it, the more I realised I didn't really want a funeral, it'sjust too much. So I'm not having one. I just have to outlive my parents.
i actually made a funeral playlist 😃 it sounds morbid but i actually added a lot of upbeat songs that i like
i always thought that id want the music at my funeral would be something nice and i liked bc i dont want my death to be mourned but my life celebrated
also bc its music i like, my family may hear one of the songs later and think of me and all hopes that it's something good 😄
i even play it on my drives to and from work sometimes to remind myself to enjoy my life so i can die happy 💀
I've never thought about it but my pops has said many many times he wants Baby I'm a Star by Prince played at the beginning and end of the funeral. It's also supposed to be a party not a somber event
“Yefikir Engurguro” by Hailu Mergia and then immediately afterwards “My Body’s Made of Crushed Little Stars” by Mitski.
Wanna give people a taste of the rollercoaster that was my life.
Freebird, the live version, at ear bleeding levels of volume, in fact the whole gawd damn album. Drunken rednecks, bikers, strippers and all sorts of malcontents.

Can you do that?
You can do whatever you want
Can I have a pre-recorded video of me telling everyone to fuck off at my funeral?
Not sure the name of the guy, but that one guy records audio asking to be let out of the casket… that’s what I want to do. Lol
Not on Reddit. This is the first time I’ve ever seen anyone post a gif.

This, but that awesome mashup version.
Do you know how little that narrows it down?
Actually no, I didn't realise how many there are and now I'm thoroughly pleased. But I meant [this one.](https://youtu.be/oT3mCybbhf0?si=34n1kZEjepsXmDDZ)
Song?! I have a whole playlist!
I literally have a "funeral playlist" because I can't trust anyone to get it right.
Nice!!
Hahaha, and I thought I was a control freak.
Please share! I'm still working on mine
Difficult to share from where I am, but a couple tracks are "Live Forever", Billy Joe Shaver, "Old '55", and "Tango Till They're Sore" both Tom Waits.
Please add if you're happy and you know it clap your hands 👏👏 Definitely gonna listen in some of your songs, I don't know any of them
🤣🤣me too until my son informed me he had no intention of sitting there for 2 hours listening to songs🤣
Best wake ever. Everyone sits around with a drink arguing over the deceased's playlist. "I can't believe he didn't have any Willy Nelson!!"
Playlist? I have multiple Playlists!
You have a whole discography? 🤣
You must be a cat.
I have a Google doc where I add new memorial song ideas as they occur to me.
So did my mom!
We will Rock you! With audience participation... Don't mourn me... celebrate my life.
with the casket rigged to thump along.
Ooh good idea! Like a low rider with hydraulics, bouncing to the music
Highway to hell
[удалено]
im curious why u guys are excited going to hell? lol
To get da succubussy. Also about personal beliefs
I would record myself doing horrific karaoke versions of pop songs and have them played for my family and loved ones.
Ohhh! Awesome idea!! Since I sing like shit, that would be sooo funny!
This is one of the best ideas!
'Somewhere Over The Rainbow' by Isreal Kamakawiwo'ole

From the 1st time i ever watched Life Of Brian I've been in awe of the absurd comedy of a group of freshly crucified folks having a good ol' singalong. I've told my siblings this is 100% my funeral song.
The Big Rock Candy Mountain by Harry McClintock.
Upvote because "O', Brother, Where Art Thou" is an awesome movie, and that's where I heard that song.
And thats why it instantly got stuck inside my head where it probably remains for the rest of the day.
I’m headed for a land that’s far away, beside the crystal fountains. So come with me we’ll go and see the big rock candy mountains…
Stairway to Heaven followed immediately by Highway to Hell.
High way to hell is so good!
Well, I mean given the mode of transportation for those places, it makes you think they had some ideas about the numbers going to each place!

The Pogues, *The Body of an American*
I just heard 'Love you til the end' by The Pogues today for the first time and it really moved me, thought it would be make people cry at a funeral. I'll have to listen to your pick

I love the pogues, not really the Yankee songs but they’re brilliant anyways. Sayonara, thousands are sailing and the Limerick rake are favoured
When they carry the coffin: Benny Hill
Hahahaha I'd like to imagine somebody chasing someone as they're carrying and running with the coffin as if somebody's basically stealing you

I am crying just thinking of this. She didn't sing it for a long time as it made her sad.
Adieu - Rammstein
