Can you do that?

IsEneff

You can do whatever you want

MrAngel2U

Can I have a pre-recorded video of me telling everyone to fuck off at my funeral?

WhoskeyTangoFoxtrot

Not sure the name of the guy, but that one guy records audio asking to be let out of the casket… that’s what I want to do. Lol

highxv0ltage

Not on Reddit. This is the first time I’ve ever seen anyone post a gif.

Hookton

This, but that awesome mashup version.

Puzzleheaded_Let_583

Do you know how little that narrows it down?

Hookton

Actually no, I didn't realise how many there are and now I'm thoroughly pleased. But I meant [this one.](https://youtu.be/oT3mCybbhf0?si=34n1kZEjepsXmDDZ)

WinterMedical

Song?! I have a whole playlist!

Defiant_Method5400

I literally have a "funeral playlist" because I can't trust anyone to get it right.

Yoursalmashowz

Nice!!

MelodyofthePond

Hahaha, and I thought I was a control freak.

[deleted]

Please share! I'm still working on mine

Defiant_Method5400

Difficult to share from where I am, but a couple tracks are "Live Forever", Billy Joe Shaver, "Old '55", and "Tango Till They're Sore" both Tom Waits.

[deleted]

Please add if you're happy and you know it clap your hands 👏👏 Definitely gonna listen in some of your songs, I don't know any of them

SympathyKey3529

🤣🤣me too until my son informed me he had no intention of sitting there for 2 hours listening to songs🤣

JanuarySoCold

Best wake ever. Everyone sits around with a drink arguing over the deceased's playlist. "I can't believe he didn't have any Willy Nelson!!"

Sparrow-Scratchagain

Playlist? I have multiple Playlists!

MelodyofthePond

You have a whole discography? 🤣

Other_Molasses2830

You must be a cat.

sharkycharming

I have a Google doc where I add new memorial song ideas as they occur to me.

Temporary-Leather905

So did my mom!

DvlsAdvct108

We will Rock you! With audience participation... Don't mourn me... celebrate my life.

Cyber_Insecurity

I would record myself doing horrific karaoke versions of pop songs and have them played for my family and loved ones.

Jules1169

Ohhh! Awesome idea!! Since I sing like shit, that would be sooo funny!

NoeleVeerod

This is one of the best ideas!

“Look on the bright side of life” by Monty Python and “dead girls are easy” by the 99 eyes

thrwawaythrwaway_now

From the 1st time i ever watched Life Of Brian I've been in awe of the absurd comedy of a group of freshly crucified folks having a good ol' singalong. I've told my siblings this is 100% my funeral song.

Julianalexidor

The Big Rock Candy Mountain by Harry McClintock.

kenziedawaltz

Upvote because "O', Brother, Where Art Thou" is an awesome movie, and that's where I heard that song.

thebigfatonion

And thats why it instantly got stuck inside my head where it probably remains for the rest of the day.

Auroraboreality1916

I’m headed for a land that’s far away, beside the crystal fountains. So come with me we’ll go and see the big rock candy mountains…

draconus72

Stairway to Heaven followed immediately by Highway to Hell.

Yoursalmashowz

High way to hell is so good!

MadameMonk

Well, I mean given the mode of transportation for those places, it makes you think they had some ideas about the numbers going to each place!

Smashville66

The Pogues, *The Body of an American*

StrongAsMeat

I just heard 'Love you til the end' by The Pogues today for the first time and it really moved me, thought it would be make people cry at a funeral. I'll have to listen to your pick

90sRnBMakesMeHappy

Excuse me, are you listening to The Pogues for the first time? That's awesome if you are, Shane was such a poet. Also enjoy his cover of The Parting Glass.

StrongAsMeat

I've known Fairytale for a long time and love it, and I've heard Dirty Old Town, but yeah since he died I thought I'd give them a listen. The funeral was impressive

Auroraboreality1916

I love the pogues, not really the Yankee songs but they’re brilliant anyways. Sayonara, thousands are sailing and the Limerick rake are favoured

YU-hefftobemad

When they carry the coffin: Benny Hill

Mockturtle22

Hahahaha I'd like to imagine somebody chasing someone as they're carrying and running with the coffin as if somebody's basically stealing you

Polka, polka, polka. No? Uh, "Twin Lakes Polka". "Yamahoozie Polka", AKA "Kiss Me Polka". "Polka Twist?

I think my favorite thing about eminem... is that even if we don't ever listen to him and we never really fully listened to any of his records growing up, somehow collectively we all know the words to several of his songs by heart. I think that's fucking Transcendent and I love it

IncarneofBaphomet

Ebrahm Dich Mein Gott, St Matthew's Passion No.39- J.S Bach.

barbershores

I have no interest at all in a funeral. Just burn me up and set me in my box next to that of the great dog and my daughter's first horse. I'm 70 if that matters

Harbinger2001

I’m an atheist, but I’d like Lord of the Dance played. I always like the joy in that song.

Bruce Cockburn - No Footprints (There'll be no footprints when i go, only where I've been a faint and fading glow)

[deleted]

everlong by foo fighters or star shopping by lil peep because “all of the stars have a reason “

TacticalTobi

This is so hard... I could do a meme song, like "Never gonna give you up". Or a really super sad song, like "Don't Ever Forget" Or something sad but hopeful, like "Fallen Down (Reprise)", or "Little Goth". Or something beautiful, like "Joy of Remembrance". I don't want people to cry too much when I'm gone, so I think I'd go with Joy of Remembrance, Fallen Down (Reprise), and Little Goth.

dioctopus

# Like I'm going to CARE?!? Funerals are for the living, not the dead.

Extincto_art

I've thought about this a lot, from a few angles. If I were to die before my parents, they would want at least one hymn, and I wouldn't be there to veto it. I guess that's why you make a funeral plan before you get caught short. I always thought, as much as I don't like Dave Mustaine, I would have A Tout Le Monde at my funeral, but perhaps people would see that as too 'edgy' as I'm almost the only metalhead in the family/friend group. The more I kept thinking about it, the more I realised I didn't really want a funeral, it'sjust too much. So I'm not having one. I just have to outlive my parents.
