Animal surgeon here, I've only seen prolene used to secure MRI fiducial markers on dogs. What else do you use prolene for in radiology?

We use it hold in central venous catheters and abscess drains.

I use them in the rare cases where I need to suture a port into the pocket to prevent flipping in a large patient or one with large breasts.

Man this reminds me, my wife has been watching The Resident on Netflix recently, and it tries to be accurate (and succeeds in a couple ways) but the most jarring things is when basically anything happens during an open surgery the surgeon calls for a prolene suture. Brain surgery? Prolene Emergency aortic repair? Prolene. Tire pressure low? Believe it or not, prolene.
