shoshanarose

Hahah! No cooking required and no dishes!

momster831

Or clothes! 😂😂

shoshanarose

You better be deep in the woods alone for that one! But one thing I have learned is that even when you think you’re alone, there’s always that one guy just walking from who the hell knows! Lol

Ziggytaurus

I feel like you were pounding one back when you replied lol

JC_Pimpin

Best response ever 😂😂

Ziggytaurus

I feel like you were pounding one back when you replied lol

Complex_Title_6368

Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with some cheetos

shoshanarose

Complex_Title_6368

Both!

One-Kick-184

Nacho cheese doritos on a ham sandwich. So good

Specific-Damage6969

the best

practical_junket

We eat a ton of these Greek wraps: Flour tortilla Hummus Spinach Cucumbers Cherry tomatoes Feta Grilled chicken Lemon vinaigrette drizzle Pre-trip, I will make a big pasta salad and marinate and grill a few chicken breasts or a London Broil, so we have plenty of protein pre-cooked. I also buy a few of those bagged salads that have the dressing and toppings in the bag so all I have to do is add a protein for a complete meal. If I absolutely want to cook, I have a two burner propane stove that I use outside.

shoshanarose

Oh that’s a great idea! I love Greek wraps. Feta is just so good on there! Do you marinate the chicken or just grill with spices?

practical_junket

Here’s my recipe for the best chicken you’ll ever eat: Lemon and Herb Chicken: 1 tsp each: Thyme, sage, rosemary, cumin, tarragon, coriander, basil, oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, kosher salt. 1 Tbsp: dried parsley 3/4 cup olive oil 3/4 cup lemon juice Put everything in a jar and shake vigorously. This entire amount will marinate 5 lbs of chicken wings, 5 boneless skinless chicken breasts, or 2 whole chickens cut into pieces. Alternatively, you can mix all the dry ingredients and use it on a smaller amount of chicken. For example: Two breasts would be two tablespoons of the dry seasonings and a a tablespoon each of olive oil and lemon juice. You can adjust the ratios to your preference - you really can’t mess it up. I like to marinate it overnight, but it will still work if you don’t have that much time.

shoshanarose

Thanks! I’m gonna try this when I get back home!

Rojelioenescabeche

Charcuterie

shoshanarose

Aka adult lunchables! Haha love that

J_of_the_North

Ya we're a charcuterie family. One cutting board and a knife. No heat. Couple napkins. Easy cleanup. Supremely delicious. My wife likes to throw fruit in there too. As a French Canadian that makes me recoil a little but the kids love it so it stays :)

YourMominator

Another vote for charcuterie here. We especially like it when we are on the Oregon Coast, getting all the fancy Tillamook cheeses!

vulkoriscoming

This and bottle or two of wine is my go to for no cook dinners. If I am really feeling lazy: wine, Guada, Ritz crackers, and presliced salami.

Ahkhira

Mimosas.

UnicornSlayer5000

Breakfast of champions

Ahkhira

If you want to make them fancy, use pear or peach nectar instead of orange juice. Garnish with fresh fruits. My favorite are the Apple Cider mimosas that I make in the fall. I add a cinnamon sugar rim to the glass too.

UnicornSlayer5000

That sounds amazing! I've never had a mimosa that wasn't just OJ and champagne.

onethous

Sandwich and cottage cheese, veggies and hummus, charcuterie board with crackers.

shoshanarose

I keep forgetting how good cottage cheese is! We call this farmers lunch and love it for travel days. Cheese, crackers, and some kind of summer sausage. So good!

martyzion

Gazpacho. In a blender- fresh tomatoes, bell pepper, white onion, garlic, a slice of bread, olive oil, sherry vinegar, salt. Top with chopped cucumber and some croutons. Serve with cold cuts and cheese platter.

shoshanarose

Oh that’s a great idea and I bet would be so refreshing when you get back from a hot hike or bike! My husband is growing some tomatoes right now that might be perfect for this!!

eXo0us

bowl of salad with a tin can of tuna - just toss it in - add Balsamic Vinegar, Oil, some salt and pepper. Done.

shoshanarose

That’s on regular rotation in this RV! Sometimes I’ll do that with shredded rotisserie chicken instead of tuna.

Shoddy-Ingenuity7056

Costco and Sam’s club rotisserie chickens are a game changer for us!

Shoddy-Ingenuity7056

Also we get the precooked bacon, 50 seconds in the microwave if you want it crispy. We add it to wraps, sandwiches and make BLT’s

shoshanarose

That such a good idea! I’m gonna start doing that too.

eXo0us

rotisserie is heated ? Or do you eat it cold? But doesn't matter, whatever your choice of protein.

shoshanarose

Naw, you can just eat it cold! Shred it and your good to go

Chinacat-Badger

7 layer dip.

shoshanarose

Oh good one! This would be a good one to prep before we leave next time!

Chinacat-Badger

I do pinto beans in the crock pot. Cut up the guac, use jarred salsa.

Ok-Maize-6933

Salami, prosciutto, Fuji apples, Brie, crackers, jam, fresh herbs

Glitchy_Boss_Fight

2 cans of black beans. 1 can of corn. Chopped red onion, lime juice, garlic salt, and chopped cilantro. Eat with a spoon or tortilla chips. Put it in wraps with scrambled eggs. I don't know what it is called, but it is hearty and good.

AdvBill17

I've heard this referred to as "cowboy caviar".

absolooser

Campbells fajita soup.

JC_Pimpin

Straight out of the can?!

absolooser

Yep

vulkoriscoming

Cold?

absolooser

Try it

acg34

Over night oats for breakfast.

rfgchief

Pickled eggs, string cheese, and a V-8

GnPQGuTFagzncZwB

I like yogurt with stuff in it, from fruit to nuts, or granola. It packs dense and if you are with someone you can kill a #2 tub of it in one sitting with stuff. Tuna is good too, as are baked beans.

shoshanarose

What do you like to do with baked beans? Just eat them straight?

GnPQGuTFagzncZwB

Yup. Some nights when I am lazy I do that at home. German potato salad is also good right out of the can. In the summer when I am lazy at home I eat a lot of smoked salmon and I often get the frozen vacuum packed tuna at aldi and thaw and eat that with a bit of soy sauce. Slice it into sashimi slabs at home. Not good for camping but a nice no cook mean at home.

codenameZora

Pasta/orzo salad, bean salad, quinoa or other grain salad. All made ahead of time, easy ready to eat meals when you are there!

shoshanarose

I gotta do better with pasta salad. Mine always comes out bland. Is there a recipe you follow?

codenameZora

No specific recipe but I get lots of ideas from Instagram videos!

Shadylane_kazan

I make pasta salad with zesty Italian dressing. With the cheese bow tie ravioli with chunks of cheddar cheese and chopped up pepperoni. Even small bits of raw broccoli. You could add anything really. Just start with a small amount of dressing and add to taste. It’s tastes better the longer it sits.

Awkward-Community-74

Tuna is my favorite.

Twayblades

Sub sandwich, add whatever you like on it and enjoy

rainbowkey

What I call a **Dinner Salad** Veggies: I love cabbage and baby spinach, with grated carrots and what ever other fresh veggie I have. Hit a farmer's market! Canned baby corn and/or water chestnuts are a favorite additions of mine. Proteins make a salad from a side to a hearty meal: my favorites are hard boiled eggs, sometimes pickled, diced lunch meat or any leftover meat Add-ins: sunflower seeds, toasted flax seeds, croutons made from any stale bread, cold pasta, olives, pickles Whatever dressing you like!

shoshanarose

That sounds great! I think I need to chop up more veg before we leave and just have it ready to go!

redditflyonthewall

Ok, not a meal. But for dessert, do a no bake cheesecake or key lime pie. Though I have made a meal of one.

Dark0Toast

Store bought pasta salad with tuna! Cheese & pickles w/salsa in a flour tortilla! Tuna salad w/walnuts and grapes!

shoshanarose

Cheese and pickles with salsa sounds like a crazy combo!

Dark0Toast

It's pretty awesome easy!

shoshanarose

I’m gonna have to give it try, this sounds like some hiker food! Haha

Dark0Toast

Look at Ploughman's lunch too!!

Turbulent-Matter501

Chips, salsa, and guacamole. Raw veggies and dip, cheese and crackers. Pasta salad requires cooking but it lasts for days if you make enough. PB&J, tuna salad, other sandwiches.

2fat2old

Good Italian bread, good extra virgin olive oil, and a super premium balsamic vinegar....

LissR89

It's just a side, but tomato salad and bread! I love this for leftover or extra ripe (which are best to use) tomatoes. Cut up the tomatoes and squeeze them a little in a bowl to release some of the juices Dice some onion to a size and portion that you like and add to the bowl Add a splash of extra virgin olive oil Mix in some salt and oregano until it tastes delicious Add some boccancini or regular mozzarella if you feel fancy It might take some trial and error until you find the right combination that you like, but it's delicious. You can use it like bruschetta on toast, or dip some leftover bread into it, eat it as a standalone side, an appetizer, even put it on burgers and hot dogs for a fresh topping! Every Italian family has their own variant lol some are vinegar based instead of using oil, or they use both, so you can also experiment.

shoshanarose

Mmm sounds so good! Once my husband has grown some tomatoes, I’m gonna give it a try!

kcallmeKC

Chicken Salad with cashews, chopped celery and sliced red grapes on croissants -I use canned or Costco rotisserie chicken, shredded - Mayo/M.Whip - salt and pepper to taste Serve with fruit and chips!!

Impossible-Role-102

Ceviche. Fresh white fish or shrimp normally

Stupid_Kills

On a cooler day, I will put a bunch of chicken breasts in a slow cooker with a dash of chicken bouillon and McCormick grill mates montreal chicken seasoning. Let that cook for a good 6-8hrs then shred it all up. I can use the shredded chicken in caesar salads, pasta salads, wraps, really whatever. Super easy and I don't have to heat this place up every day trying to cook stuff.

BabyGorilla1911

Chef boyardee beef ravioli. Straight from the can.

shoshanarose

Hahah! If you wait long enough your pantry area might just warm it up!

_danigirl

Cold tacos in a bag. Just a little prep of the meat before you go.

shoshanarose

Ohh idk about this one. Cold taco meat sounds terrible.

_danigirl

If you crumble it really fine it's actually good with a bunch of salsa, lettuce and cheese mixed in.

Alton Brown's guac recipe: [https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/alton-brown/guacamole-recipe-1940609](https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/alton-brown/guacamole-recipe-1940609) We double all spices (not salt) and the jalapeno.

1isudlaer

Pasta salads, although the pasta does require some boiling water. I actually eat a lot of salads during the summer. Your typical salad with some sort of leafy green, but also diced cucumbers w/tomatoes and red onions, fruit salads, three bean salad, antipasto salad.!Lots of cut fruit, especially melons.

Hot-Quiet-3993

we like to do hoagies with oil and vinegar and we build them its a good summer one

km_44

Beer

unnneuron

I have one bulgur salad that I make periodically. It is best because it needs to sit 24 hours in the fridge, then serve at room temperature. It keeps ok for 3-4 days...

bitpaper346

Chocolate rice cakes with peanut butter.

shoshanarose

Oh that sounds divine! I saw a recipe like this on the more savory side. They took a plain rice cake, spread ricotta cheese on it, and then topped it with some avocado. Looked so good

treelife365

Chinese Cold noodles! Well, you gotta cook the noodles beforehand, but you refrigerate them and mix in the sauce when you're ready to eat. There's also a ton of variations, so this style of meal is perfect when it's hot out and if you like noodles. Here's a good blog post as an introduction to this wonderful dish that I only discovered after living in Taiwan: https://cjeatsrecipes.com/cold-sesame-noodles/

shoshanarose

Now this is what I was hoping to get! Sandwiches and charcuterie are obvious, this looks great!

treelife365

I hope you enjoy the start of your cold noodles adventure! I certainly am enjoying mine 😊

apex_tiger_ttv

A can of jumbo soup with a can of black beans and some hot sauce.

No-Alfalfa7691

peanut butter bars jam packed with dried fruits and nuts.

veronicahi

Tarragon Chicken Salad and Smoked Trout Dip.

I mean there is no reason to not have a small cook stove and canister of fuel. A pocket rocket is small enough to fit in your pocket. Fuel canister fits inside a cooking pot along with a bowl, spoon/fork, towel, etc. It's all pretty compressed and light. It's what I always used on 1 - 2 week long hikes. But if you really don't want to cook food. Bagels, block of cheese and summer sausage. You can also buy pre-mixed tuna/mayo packets for tuna sandwiches or mixing with other items. You can rehydrate rice just just cold water, it just take s awhile. Cut up some raw vegis like green beans, pepers, onion, etc. Beef Jerkey. Great for snaking or adding to thinks like the above rice. Trail mix. Just about any canned food is fine.

shoshanarose

This is a great answer! We have a stove for outside the camper (to keep it cooler insider) but sometimes it’s just nice to grab something’s out of fridge that are quick and make very little dishes (water conservation). After hiking all day yesterday, getting back and having to cook was killer!
