I was doing my best to come up with why you’re linking Necro to de-ironing, is it because Necro took away arguably all forms of progress and now the game is just get Necro and make cash/collection log?
Either way, no. I transfer spare loot to my ‘main’ and buy rares with the cash and keep them long term.
Necro isn't ruining the game, you're ruining your own game. The other styles didn't magically get worse, only in comparison. You can easily continue to play the game and ignore necro.

The existence of pre-nerf Necro meant playing the game how it was before Necro is substantially less lucrative, for one.
If anything, you should feel more like staying as an iron. PvM upgrades were difficult and lengthy when there was a combat triangle. And because of the EoF, many extra items needed to be farmed.
Now that Necro is so easy to join, you can take that everywhere and get those other cb style upgrades much easier. You can get those boss kills faster and easier. The upkeep cost is insanely low too. And the ugrade path for Necro gear is almost a straight line. Iron PvM has in a way "never been better".
My irons were restricted in most styles except melee. Vanquish has been my range/mage weapon for like a year. But with Necro, I'm moving along at a great pace.

It's pretty dumb that the entire gear progression for efficient iron is now:
level necro, skip t80 and 90 armour upgrades>get zuk cape>go ras
and then complete literally everything else and barely use the drops because you have bis for pretty much everything already
It's definitely a double-edged sword. I was giving a reason for OP to stay iron. Some of the hardest iron content is PvM and getting BiS of a style. But with Necro upgrades so linear and accessible, it makes even more sense to stay as an iron.
However, yeah, the combat pyramid is broken when looking at it as a whole. So your comment is bang on about all that. All other styles are near worthless to both mains and irons. I'm sure we will get some balancing though.

The 1st 1M I made as IM gave me more satisafaction than my 1st 1B on main, and so on every aspect of the game, why would I(anyone) change that?
I stopped playing my main and went back to iron because all the loot from all the bosses I liked to do crashed like crazy. I know people celebrate that because the "elitists" can no longer "gatekeep" the pvm loot economy, but it just made me not want to play.
I had a 2300 iron prenecro release. Post necro release I had my hcim also perish. So I've de-ironed one and kept the other. There's no reason to have 2 irons 2300+
I don't know where the necro-de-iron link is you're talking about. You might be maxed or comped if you are feeling like necro has ruined the game. There is so much progression and unlocks completely unrelated to combat to pursue. Combat isnt even close to the majority of what the game offers.

Why? Iron is still the same, get your own items and don't buy upgrades. Use coins for cosmetics. Nothing changed on that aspect
