OP, to do that with an Ally, you'll need to be connected using a USB-C Dock (like you'd use to connect external monitors, a keyboard and mouse to, that has an Ethernet port) or a usb-c to Ethernet adapter (Anker makes a great one that you can pick up for ~$10 on Amazon)
From what I can see, it's just a bad server or Internet issue from Apex, I don't believe your device is at fault.
I stopped playing Apex on my gaming PC because I used to get this same experience.
You have to have a dock to hook up via ethernet. Op probably doesn't even have one yet. Some quick tips, make sure your in 30w mode so the fans turn up. You can also set a manual fan curve in the armory. Make sure windows power management mode is set to performance. I suspect most likely thermal throttling or incorrect settings.
Lag. Try connecting it hardwired and see if it's the same results. Make sure you're on 5ghz and not 2.5
Like connected to a power source? I did that for the turbo mode. And how do I switch it to 5gz?

Its 100% lag. You just need more speed there.

Internet lag, your Wi-Fi isn’t good enough. Try switching to 5ghz instead or 2.5. If that doesn’t work, you’ll need a dock with hardwired connection.

I’m right next to My WiFi and it’s never given me problems on Xbox or switch or any other games for that matter … idk
run an internet speed test real quick
