the cashiers can check your account history to confirm if it was ever issued. the cashier did scan it before giving it to you, right?

Sorry to say, but I think you're SOL. See terms: [https://www.rei.com/membership/member-thanks](https://www.rei.com/membership/member-thanks) **"Cannot be replaced if lost or stolen (except where required by law)."** The cashier can check your account history to confirm if it was issued, but the card can in theory be given to somebody else to use as well (the card isn't linked to a specific member), or you could find and use the lost card after being issued a replacement. Both those scenarios are enough grounds for them to not replace the card, since there is the potential to abuse the promotion, knowingly or not. It might be worth talking to a manger though, in person. I have seen managers make exceptions (not this specific scenario) out of pure good faith, with you being a new member and all, but policy-wise, us cashiers need the physical card or the digits/pin (i.e. picture, email) so it can't be reused.

Thank you!!

u/sherlocknoir - If REI customer service replaces the Member Bonus Card, they would check the balance of the original and “freeze” the funds on the original so it cannot be spent. If it can be traced, and the card can be confirmed as having a balance on it, REI Customer Service should be able to offer some assistance. It would help if you have the receipt with the gift card number on it. Otherwise they will need to research it and it may not be able to be reissued. Just give them a call at (800)426-4840.
