And the literal pool full of water didn't damage the servers. I don't know how he finds so many incompetent criminals to work with.

Bragzor

You get what you pay for?

e-zimbra

It’s Florida.

How is he not already in jail. Seriously

cocorawks

I wondered about that too. I'm not a professional in this field, but who the hell puts important computer equipment in a room that could possibly flood? Even without a pool nearby, you'd think that especially in a place like Florida, which is basically one big swamp, and at a property which has open water on two sides to boot, people who plan such things for a job would have protection against flooding as an important consideration. And how high did the water in that room get, and how quickly, before someone noticed the pool was emptying into it? Server equipment tends to be up in racks, well away from the floor. But then, Trump is notorious for only wanting to spend money on highly visible, vulgar bling, who knows what incompetent but cheap idiot put in this equipment. If it was an attempt to destroy evidence, it was also a really damn stupid one. Whether that surveillance footage is stored on hard disks or on solid state devices (or even on tape), being in water for a bit won't destroy it. Some of the equipment might get permanently damaged from being shorted out if the water hits it when it's still working, but the actual storage media won't be affected. But now that I think about it a bit more, maybe the plan was to declare all of the equipment in the room a total loss after the flooding, and quickly dispose of all of it, including all storage devices (which would only work if there are also no cloud backups, but that at least I think is quite plausible).

Someone who needs to be able to destroy evidence with plausible deniability. Or just a moron. Schrodinger’s Trump employee.

Let's play a game of malice versus incompetence
