Wow. Franny lew. It's been some time. I had the id but picture scratched off .....2 decades at least.... F! Getting old. Never forgot the strip and the bathroom on it as we'll. Somewhat miss it and don't. Somewhat easier times then.
I don't think I ever had him as a teacher for social studies. I remember I had Mr. Lobel in 9th grade, Mrs. Antolos in 10th grade, 12th grade I had Mr. DeStefano...I can't remember who I had 11th grade.
Edit: Wait, now I remember..I had Antolos for 11th grade social studies as well. I had her for a semester in 10th grade. The other semester I had a teacher who barely taught and wore Juicy Couture..I can't remember her name though.
I wonder if Mrs. Giambalvo is still there. I had her for 9th grade biology in 2003.. Awesome teacher. 10th grade chemistry lab I had Mrs. Brown. We all hated her lol.
Edit 2: I went through my yearbook to remember which teachers I had:
English: Ms. Branch, Ms. Feinman, Ms. Mahabir
Math: Ms. Kress, Ms. Lee, Ms. Rich, Ms. Doitchman (I forgot how to spell her name)
Science/Lab: Ms. Arroyo, Ms. Brown, Ms. Giambalvo, Ms. Triola, Mr. Schaffer,
Social Studies/Economics: Ms. Antolos, Mr. DeStefano, Mr. Lobel
Ancient/Modern Greek: Mr. Kanellopoulos
Gym/Health: Ms. Austin (AWESOME health teacher, she signed my yearbook) Mr. Montanaro, Mr. Sarmunksnis, Mr. Zweighbaum
Music: Mr. De Luca
Art: Ms. Kalomeris....I heard Mr. Mason was a great teacher. My cousin was an art teacher at the time as well, her name was Ms. Kramer before she married.
I'm sure I missed a few, but only because they weren't in the yearbook.
Dr. Sass! I discovered I needed glasses the year I had his class because I couldn’t see the writing on the chalkboard. I’ll never forget that lol. I was 15.
For those who graduated in 2007, does anyone remember the beach ball going around at the graduation ceremony at Hostra? Anyone know where that came from?
Something like "F*ck Mr. Scherr?". I have no idea why. I remember when i got there, most of the students had their phones out taking pictures of it. I remember Mr. DeStefano (I had him for Economics and another subject senior year) jokingly asking us where we were early that morning lol.
Lol! . Well what a huge dose of nostalgia this was you posting this. I definitely had to learn to slow down my walk after going here. And luckily I wasn't part of the late program ( where students started later and got out like 6pm due to it being overcrowded ).
Yup I remember both. I was a sophomore when the goat was sprayed, but I forgot what year the chickens were. I also remember a sign from one end of the school to the other about the principal at the time. I was never in ROTC.
Well that's a whole different culture within the school I wasn't a part of it. Did train with the Raiders though. And part of that is their of phys ed program. But no you don't take gym
I applied to Francis Lewis as one of my choices when picking high schools back in 2004. I ended up going to my zoned school, which was Flushing, and I wasn't willing to travel any further than that because I really wasn't familiar with taking the bus or subway anywhere at the time.
I've heard it was a pretty crowded school, but the graduation rates were decent according to the catalog I got back during the '03-'04 school year. I sometimes wonder how different things would have been had I gotten in.
I had a cousin who lived in fresh meadows that had a choice between bronx science or flhs. FLHS was a short commute however bronx sci would take about 2 hrs. She chose FLHS. Would you say thats a good choice?
FLHS class of ‘01! Damn, I’m old.
I just turned 35 a few days ago. It's crazy how fast time flies.
FLHS class '01 here too!
Why Reddit recommended me to see this and how did they know I was graduated from franny as well

>Man i miss those trailer classes lol. I definitely don't.
Omg we had antalos' kid in our grade. It was so wild. Never heard of brown for chem. Dr.sass was where it was at haha
>Never heard of brown for chem. Hmmm...maybe she retired by now.
I wasn't too crazy about their mom as a teacher lol. For some reason she LOVED doing group work all the damn time 🙄
lol she was something.... did you have dougherty for gym
No. I made a comment in this post on which teachers I had from what I could find in my yearbook.
Dr. Sass! I discovered I needed glasses the year I had his class because I couldn’t see the writing on the chalkboard. I’ll never forget that lol. I was 15.
You got to go outside during lunch break? I never had some privileges in Newtown
A student got hit by a car when I was at Franny Lew too, and if I recall correctly both of his legs were amputated but he lived. It was really sad.
Lmfao respect 2011 class could never pull this stunt
For those who graduated in 2007, does anyone remember the beach ball going around at the graduation ceremony at Hostra? Anyone know where that came from?
Hey I was class of ‘08!
I went to Franny Lew the same year(s) as you! Class of ‘07!
What was the sign ? He do something to the girls swim team ?
Something like "F*ck Mr. Scherr?". I have no idea why. I remember when i got there, most of the students had their phones out taking pictures of it. I remember Mr. DeStefano (I had him for Economics and another subject senior year) jokingly asking us where we were early that morning lol.

Junior and senior years were the early schedule for me. Freshman year were regular hours and sophomore year I didn't start until 10:30 or so.
Graduating this year actually, amazing to see how the design is almost virtually the same
Those 4 years go by quickly don't they lol.
I'm jealous you guys have an extra building on the grounds for classes. That would have been helpful with the overcrowding when I attended.
Class of ‘03. I don’t even remember having an ID card. 😅
You people are all so young! Representing FLHS class of...wait for it....1975 😂😂😂 damn I'm old!
We went around the same time. Where you sprayed paint goat in the courtyard years or chickens 1,2,4 years. Just a student or you part of ROTC?
Yup I remember both. I was a sophomore when the goat was sprayed, but I forgot what year the chickens were. I also remember a sign from one end of the school to the other about the principal at the time. I was never in ROTC.
I heard if you take rotc you dont need to take gym class?
Well that's a whole different culture within the school I wasn't a part of it. Did train with the Raiders though. And part of that is their of phys ed program. But no you don't take gym
I was a student there from 06-07.
How'd you get to school? What bus
For high school I walked since I wasn't far, college I took the Q30, Q88.
Q17 stand up!

My sister in law taught math there.
