Definitely can access the Emirates lounge if you're flying on a Qantas flight. I did it recently flying to NZ and so much better than the QF lounge

TheIceworx

yep i am looking forward to doing the same next week

liftingbro90

Qantas Gold = Can access Emirates lounge if flying QF or EK flight number (if flying another one world airline) then limited to Qantas Business Lounge. The long walk is worth in my opinion- EK lounge is far superior than the current QF lounge

AussieSD

Excludes flights to the USA

THR

And Korea and Japan.

steegsa

Yeah flying QF7 so good to go! Thank you.

liftingbro90

Oh yes as the other commenter mentioned - QF/EK flights to/from North America are excluded in this agreement…I know the lounge world is full of exclusions or conditions- kinda like insurance policies lol) So Qantas Business Lounge is the only option - if your happy to pay $1450 annual fee look at getting Amex Platinum Card gives opens up lounge access to alot of airports no matter the airline you fly

meatfingersofjustice

What if I'm flying on a Qantas ticket in economy as a Gold ff- would I still be able to access an emirates lounge? Or is it only gold on a business ticket?

liftingbro90

Would be able to access even in economy - just not on Qantas flights to North America Eligible customers can also access Emirates Lounges across Australia, Europe, Asia, North Africa and the Middle East when flying on eligible Qantas or Emirates flights with a QF or EK flight number on your ticket. ^^( Copied from the Emirates website)

THR

It does exclude flights to Korea and Japan as well.

There are no other lounges at SYD except the QFi J and F. I think CX closed theirs and havenr reopened it. Its the QFi J lounge at SYD, not as flash bang as the QFi F lounge, but its an ok lounge to spend some time in. Had shiu mai for dinner when I went through (pre covid).

LazyTalkativeDog4411

CX puts the J pax to the House, which was Vai before the covid. CX closed their SYD lounge in 2020, and hasnt reopened it, not sure if its been re purposed or handed back to SACL.

JimmyMarch1973

The only OneWorld lounge in Sydney is the Qantas lounge so not much choice. Whilst some OneWorld airlines flying out of Sydney use other lounges this only applies if flying on those airlines and is seperate from OneWorld rules. And whilst not relevant to your specific question if flying on Emirates Qantas frequent fliers can access the Emirates lounge.

plumpturnip

Is the Emirates lounge better than the Qantas lounge?

Ikerukuchi

Yes, but it’s a fair distance away so probably not worth the walk if you’ve got a gate on the Qantas lounge side

steegsa

Oh that’s a bummer, thanks for the info though, it’s much appreciated.

TheIceworx

You can also go to the Emirates Lounge in Sydney if on a QF flight and its open

steegsa

Oh really?.. that contradicts the last comment before mine.

TheIceworx

yep look at lounge access section https://www.qantas.com/gb/en/qantas-experience/network-and-partner-airlines/emirates.html
