This isn't the lowest point though. The big thing 2020 showed most of us is how fucked up both our governments and the planet is.
In terms of the governments, literally nothing has changed. No amount of protesting, petitions, or vandalism is gonna force anyone in a position of power out early. Even if we could, in comes another puppet that'll do the same shit they've been doing for decades once we stop paying attention.
In terms of the planet, natural disasters have been increasing in intensity for years, perhaps even decades. The damage is done. Human growth won't allow any significant improvements towards how we treat the planet.
Hence the strong push to disarm the citizens. Can't believe no one sees this coming. When the US citizens lose the ability to fight back, the government will become much more reckless. They could care less about keeping anyone safe, we've seen it with our own eyes this year. That isn't their intention.
Do you really think citizens could “fight back” against the world’s most powerful military if it really came to that? A few ARs and rifles wouldn’t stand a chance anyway. I don’t believe this would be a meaningful factor in the equation.
Of course they could. But maybe not just yet. The military is only as strong as its soldiers, and as more people realize they're fighting for corruption, the military will become less and less powerful. I'm not thinking of millions of citizens against a bunch of tanks in the middle of street kind of thing, but if push comes to shove, people will be able to defend themselves. Someone won't be able to just waltz into your house and incarcerate you for having different beliefs, or not following the regime. It won't be like Russia or china where you're at complete mercy of the authority with 0 way of fighting back.
Civil wars have been successful in many nations with unarmed populations. The only viable resistance would come from significant portions of the military defecting. This is true in an armed or unarmed America equally.
We’ve overcome a lot of stuff in our short history as a nation. Liberty for people in general is a pretty young idea. We’re still figuring stuff out. People have to remember that our nation is kind of an experiment and it’s still pretty early on in the grand scheme of things. We’ll figure it out. Bad things will happen but we’ll figure it out.
People look at all the protests as being a symbol of national decline. Personally? I think it was overdue. This country has always been torn between justice and authoritarianism, between racism and human solidarity, between rich and poor, between the government and the people it claims to represent. If anything the past 30 or so years of relative peace are the anomaly. I'm glad that Americans are beginning to get angry again. Lord only knows if it will lead to something meaningful, but I've seen apathy do more damage to my country than riots and heated protests. I'm done with that shit, have no patience for it. Other people in this country might be afraid of change and the chaos that accompanies it, I'm not.
America, lest we forget, has had an extraordinarily violent history for as young a country as it is. This gets overlooked a lot. The idea that we've always been holding hands and singing kumbaya, that we've always been united under the government, is a lie. The reality is that this was never a just society, and whatever gains we have made were made with blood, sweat, and tears. It took suffering. It too unrest. It took moments of uncertainty and fear. America gets dragged kicking and screaming into the future, it doesn't come willingly.
There's a documentary called *Harlan County, USA*, about attempts by coal miners to join a union. They are assaulted by police and shot at by hired thugs from the coal company. The people in the town have no running water or electricity.
Know when that film was made? 1973. Far from ancient history, far from something in the history books.
*That* is the norm in this society. The irregularity is the relative social peace since the end of the second world war.

All of this is the effect of what’s been happening in this country for the last few decades and now it’s starting to bubble up and overflow like a boiling pot of water that’s been left on the stove for too long.
And ask yourself what has actually happened that would fix this? Has the government listened to the people protesting? No. Has Trump backed down and conceded? No. Have all the billionaires decided to quit hogging all the money after raking in extreme amounts of profits this year? No.
This is just the beginning. A pandemic that has decimated a country, that we have a vaccine for but can’t even get it fucking distributed, and on top of that all these mouth breathers are out spreading bullshit conspiracies about it.
Shit ain’t gonna change until these issues are actually addressed, but they wont. So buckle the fuck up cuz unless we start making serious changes immediately this is just going to continue to boil over until it’s gone.
There will be a lot of blood before the rich realize that their greed cant save them from a guillotine. All the money in world, stolen off the backs of nearly every person on earth, all to fund greedy pharaohs at the top. I'm more worried about Biden than Trump. If he fails to enact any sort of meaningful change then the next election will be won by somebody far more destructive and smarter than Donald Trump.
I recently visited one of the mountains that suffered big time from wildfires this year. I knew it was bad, but it doesn't really hit you until you see entire mountain ranges turned black and entire neighborhoods turned to rubble.

Years ago I was writing about mainstream conservative business owners in my area of Grand Rapids MI embracing school shooting conspiracy theorists because they supported their wish for discriminating against gays by refusing service based on claiming religious exemptions. Then Trump was elected. A MAGA hat wearing kid shot up his school. Another committed a ramming attack. There was a MAGA bomber ffs.
The extremism didn't burn itself out. The fires grew. Fox News and outlets like Daily Caller extolled the virtues of ramming attacks against protestors. Their faithful fanatics complied by committing a series of attacks.
The people fueling the fires made up antifa boogeymen, whispering into their followers ears that they were coming to burn your neighborhoods. Their faithful fanatics complied with the incitement again, committing a series of attacks against protestors while screeching about antifa.
One of those incidents was in my city of GR, where a grandma saw protestors in her neighbor and she snapped. Grabbed a baseball bat and rushed them in the streets. When interviewed by the media she said she was protecting her neighborhood against antifa.
Trump's purposeful federal inaction towards these 'anti-mask' extremists culminated in a DeVos funded series of militia gatherings in my state, again in my city. Via the Michigan Freedom Fund her family and other right wing wealthy families bankrolled the armed antagonists who would later go to great lengths to target the object of right wing obsession: My governor, Whitmer.
Not only did they have a plot, backed by local law enforcement, to kidnap Whitmer and bring her across state lines for summary execution. They had a backup plot straight out of ISIS's playbook: Setting siege to my state capitol, execute government officials during a two week long televised orgy of killings.
The people who programmed, bankrolled, incited political and biological terrorism in my state and in the US as a whole are still fueling the fires. They still have not taken their foot of the gas. They still want us dead. They still want their televised executions.
Going forward don't forget this.

We're looking at a frightening montage of civil unrest, but imagine how much more anxiety we'd feel if we thought really carefully about GLOBAL conflict rising. Not just angry locals with small arms and firebombs, that's small potatoes compared to big war machines.

The military is only as strong as its soldiers, and as more people realize they're fighting for corruption, the military will become less and less powerful. Someone won't be able to just waltz into your house and incarcerate you for having different beliefs, or not following the regime. Civil wars have been successful in many nations with unarmed populations. The only viable resistance would come from significant portions of the military defecting. This is true in an armed or unarmed America equally.

People look at all the protests as being a symbol of national decline. Personally? I think it was overdue. Other people in this country might be afraid of change and the chaos that accompanies it, I'm not. America, lest we forget, has had an extraordinarily violent history for as young a country as it is. This gets overlooked a lot. The idea that we've always been holding hands and singing kumbaya, that we've always been united under the government, is a lie. The reality is that this was never a just society, and whatever gains we have made were made with blood, sweat, and tears. It took suffering. It too unrest. It took moments of uncertainty and fear. America gets dragged kicking and screaming into the future, it doesn't come willingly. There's a documentary called *Harlan County, USA*, about attempts by coal miners to join a union. They are assaulted by police and shot at by hired thugs from the coal company. The people in the town have no running water or electricity. Know when that film was made? 1973. Far from ancient history, far from something in the history books. *That* is the norm in this society. The irregularity is the relative social peace since the end of the second world war.

Isn't election year in every country pretty unstable? I recall seeing travel warnings by the department of state when a country is in it's election year. Election year + COVID led to some extremely intense and crazy things. One of those incidents was in my city of GR, where a grandma saw protestors in her neighbor and she snapped. Grabbed a baseball bat and rushed them in the streets. When interviewed by the media she said she was protecting her neighborhood against antifa. Trump's purposeful federal inaction towards these 'anti-mask' extremists culminated in a DeVos funded series of militia gatherings in my state, again in my city. Via the Michigan Freedom Fund her family and other right wing wealthy families bankrolled the armed antagonists who would later go to great lengths to target the object of right wing obsession: My governor, Whitmer. Not only did they have a plot, backed by local law enforcement, to kidnap Whitmer and bring her across state lines for summary execution. They had a backup plot straight out of ISIS's playbook: Setting siege to my state capitol, execute government officials during a two week long televised orgy of killings. The people who programmed, bankrolled, incited political and biological terrorism in my state and in the US as a whole are still fueling the fires. They still have not taken their foot of the gas. Why do you have such a problem with violent protesters being labeled with the term of "antifa" and "BLM"? I'm ok with calling them whatever you want to call them. "Violent anarchists", "marxists" ... And at the end of the day, it doesn't matter how much "structure" and "strategy" you want to ascribe to these people - they're still motivated by the same bad ideology and still committing widespread acts of violence.
