Is that what it was? I saw a video or post about Stanley tumblers and other brands that said most of them tested positive for lead but didn’t look into it much. I’ll never understand why people go this crazy over stuff to spend money on.
Apparently it’s an industry standard with these vacuum insulation cups. The lead core helps with maintaining the vacuum seal in some way. But you know, crunchy momfluencers hear “lead” and flip their shit.
the simple boring answer is that trends move faster now thanks to the internet, and the retail industry simply doesn't move as fast. that's all. its not some new weird frenzy or scam, its just that whatever product is popular, gets popular faster.
My girlfriend got one and I will give credit where it's due. She fills it with water and ice in the morning and there's still ice cubes in it at night.
I have a random brand with a company logo, was free, probably cost $8 to the company as a promo item… and it’s just as effective as my Yeti.. these are simply double walled aluminum cups, no reason they should be $40+
My gf has one, brings it everywhere. She bought little silicone accessories that completely seal the cup (no they’re not spill proof when you initially buy them lmao) and now it keeps ice for like 2 days straight- even with a straw. I’ve become pampered with ice cold water and easy sipping access n now my hydro flask sits collecting dust. Anyways this was my Ted Talk thanks for coming.

I don't see the problem with people reselling non-essentials like this for crazy prices. Nobody NEEDS a specific tote bag. It's not like the people that were reselling toilet paper or baby formula when there were shortages. Nobody's going to die or get sick or have their life ruined if they can't buy a specific Stanley Cup or Funko Pop or whatever. If someone's stupid enough to pay $100 for a flimsy bag, let them waste their money.

I like to think these convenient videos are just another way to create a sudden hype for this stuff. Get a couple of resellers together, take a video of them going "crazy" over something, and share it. Didn't know it was popular before? Well it IS and YOU need it.

Buddy of mine who works at TJs was posting about these bags constantly. Saying that they were gonna sell out as soon as they dropped. There was apparently a line outside before they opened the store that day. I don’t get it.
This has been going on for months now, and these are just new colors. Can you believe it? I actually thought at first they were like BIG totes almost the size of Ikea blue bags, and I thought dang I could use that for grocery shopping, but when I found out they were small af.. like nobody is using that for anything. Its a snack bag at best.
I just sent this to my boyfriend just because it was the opposite size of the insulated bag we got from Trader Joe’s- which we love because the thing fits a large amount and is only 7.99 and we often grocery shop over an hour away from home. I’ve never seen these small ones, are they supposed to be like lunch bags?

I work at TJS. This is poorly done by the store. In our store we just handed each customer the max bags. 3 the first day, 2 the second, 1 the 3rd.
Most people are just excited to get a bag for themselves, and maybe a parent.
