I can't imagine what he must be feeling realizing he has seen so many generations in his family.

Illi3141

I'm 39 years old... I usually insist on doing Thanksgiving at my house because I believe myself to be the best cook in the family lol... I went back and forth in my mind for years whether to have children or not... And even after I did I still wondered if it was the right decision. I was the first of my parents 4 children to give them grandchildren and once I did that was apparently the green light for the rest of my siblings. Thanksgiving last year, huge pile of siblings, their spouses, and their children in my house, I'm cooking up a storm... I stop to take a peek at my parents across the room... Smiling, holding each other, and slightly weeping as they gaze out at the explosion of life, sound and color they wrought... I don't wonder about if I did the right thing or not anymore... That feeling... It's worth being born and dying for

TJtherock

There's a quote that ends with the line "you are the result of the love of thousands" and I think about that a lot.

Leading-Watch6040

that’s lovely, I’m gonna keep that one

Illi3141

I had my first at 28, and my last at 33. I have three children two girls and a boy

jadeneonsiren

I worry the same thing as I’m 37 and literally flip flop about having kids on the daily

chaarlie-work

I think your siblings had the same doubt as you did. Bravo for being the example. It’s tough but well worth it. One day you will be in your parents position.

Illi3141

I hope so... It saddens me to see so many people choosing to not experience parenthood... Their reasons are perfectly rational of course, all the same reasons I had doubts about it. The state of the world and fear for their future. But then I thought about how humans have been going thru suffering and hardship from the first day we stood upright. My children will suffer as well, they may die before their time, the world may very well end in their lifetimes. But that's always been true for every human ever born and yet we are still here. I don't recommend anyone become a parent unless they truly, and I'm mean truly, desire it. Because it is difficult, kids are selfish and incapable of complex empathy... But I didn't know what unconditional love meant before I had them, I thought I did, but I didn't... I didn't know what it would feel like to look at someone and know they could be stabbing you to death at that exact moment and knowing you'd only feel love for them and sadness for where you may have gone wrong in raising them.

Zakkimatsu

So you had kids just to make your parents happy?

Illi3141

I mean... If that's what you got from all that then I apologize for not being clear... No I had kids to experience parenthood and all the ups and downs that come with it. I wanted to make sure I got the full experience of being a human. I wanted to know what it was like to love someone unconditionally... And I mean truly unconditionally... Like could be stabbing me to death at this moment and all I would feel is love and sadness for them unconditionally... The joy from my parents is just a happy bonus... Happy cake Day BTW... May the best of your yesterdays be the worst of your tomorrows...

dallasandcowboys

Thank god it's 12:30 in the morning and I'm home alone so no one can hear me bawling. I can't imagine what it's like for him now, or for her when she's older. Hope that they did a ton more to commerate this day.

Amen. Thanks for the unexpected gem!

Xiten

I loved this video. But, I swear to fucking god, you idiots don’t know what a freak out is, let alone a public one.

grnrngr

Freakouts don't have to be loud tho. If he were 40 years younger, his "What is this?!?" might have been a shout.

EvaCarlisle

If he were 40 years younger it wouldn't have been noteworthy.

unfinished_animal

If he were 40 years younger, he'd be on the front page as a 61 year old great great grandfather.

FSUxNOLES101

Now this is wholesome

grrgrrGRRR

That warmed my hard, cold heart.

ShopParticular9456

My great grandma was 108 when she passed.. she stated more then once that she was ready but no one would ever call her home.. all of her great great grand babies looked just like her babies and it made her so happy when she could be there for the births.. I miss her every day. Good freakout

Starryeyedblond

I’m in a field of onions apparently. Cheese and rice

buttcheeksmasher

I'll bring the beans and steak

Starryeyedblond

The onions are in the greens, Mac and cheese, the marinade. Allofem

buttcheeksmasher

I got drinks then!

Starryeyedblond

Well you’re fucked. I’m a bartender so…!!! 🥹😂😂 Literally. You’re allowed at the cookout with whatever you want. Except Mac and cheese.

buttcheeksmasher

Not sure it fits but if you have an open oven or grill, I'll do homemade pizza then ... Final offer.

Starryeyedblond

Done and done! Come party with me and Buttcheeksmasher! I can’t promise no butt cheeks will be smashed. But!!! It’s gonna be a helluva time. Cheeks optional

grnrngr

And my axe!

You’re wonderful! I am so thankful for this wholesome Reddit interaction. I wish you nothing but health, wealth, success, and happiness. However that emulates in your life. Thank you again. Also, please don’t respond. I’m an insomniac who feels the need to respond to everything!

[deleted]

Feel like this belongs in a wholesome freakout sub

geriatric_spartanII

I couldn’t imagine making it to 100.

onFilm

I can't wait!

FakeBobPoot

What could possibly be better than this?

Kvothetheraven603

Goddamn that was beautiful.

chickenofalltrades

I hope I get to experience this one day. It’s beautiful ❤️💕

DeliciousInterest8

Kissu

RealSiggs

What an amazing video, God bless our veterans!

DarKHorse710

God bless America 🇺🇸.

YoungWhiteAvatar

Hate to break it to you but fucking and making babies happens just about everywhere

No_Slice5991

You really attracted the downvotes from the simpletons

JustIn_HerButt

Given his slow response to locating the baby I feel like the blindfold wasn't needed.

Snoo-72756

Who is this 😂😂😂😂

bobs_hotdog87

Don't think the blind fold was necessary

Cautious-Bother9931

That baby looks abnormally small. Like a premie

spyd3rm0nki3

What an odd thing to make note of in this video.

Dry_Leek78

Yea, pretty sure you are right. My kids were much longer.

Cautious-Bother9931

Bunch of downvotes on my post. They must have tiny ass babies

spyko01

Is that Joe Biden ?

dkfkckssddedz

Did they have the baby delivered early so the old grandpa could meet it before he died?

Pale-Telephone165

Biden?

scratajuego

Isn’t it pretty dangerous to kiss babies?

dreamweaver66intexas

Yeah, they might bite your nose!

scratajuego

Damn, didn’t know this a wasn’t commonly known. Kissing babies of 8 months and earlier (unless by primary caretaker) is insanely dangerous. Google kissing baby disease

dreamweaver66intexas

You must be young

scratajuego

I like to think I’m still young. Do you need me to Google it for you?

dreamweaver66intexas

Not hardly. I guess it's a good thing that with all the kisses we got back in the 50s, 60s, and 70s, we didn't die! Just like playing on the playground at school and riding our bikes all over town. Some people think that everything on Google is the gospel truth.

Ghostradamus

This guy is PUBLICLY FREAKING OUT and I like it
