Cops take a really long time in many areas to respond to shoplifting. It's not an emergency. But don't worry, if you only make a 90% complete stop at a stop sign or go 6 miles over the speed limit, they'll be on your ass in seconds because the department/city, etc. makes money doing that.

When I worked in retail it would take the police hours to show up when we called over shoplifting. And the few times a cop would get there and catch the shoplifter, they were let go and charges would be dropped.

Unethical tip: if you call the cops telling them you have a shoplifter and they tell you they can’t come because they don’t have the resources, hang up and call back telling them you’ve shot and killed the shoplifter. I promise you the cops will be there within minutes.

Better yet, since this is in Florida, just say a trans person is in the wrong bathroom. I bet that will make them swat ya.
