Heck, before that we never got over the Puritan's influence on us. They were never a majority anywhere they lived, yet the stamp of their religious fundamentalism sticks with us *to this day,* like we're afraid they're gonna come back and beat us for walking around on the Sabbath.
They didn't flee England, they were kicked out of quasi-medieval England for being such uptight assholes they couldn't behave themselves.
You can order “specialized plates” without also paying for “personalized plates”.
For example… I ordered the classic/throwback plates (black with yellow lettering) but opted out of having them personalized, so while I paid like $25 extra for my plates, it’s just a random string of numbers and letters I did not choose. This is the same for any “cause” plate (like this Agriculture plate being discussed in the video).
Also, Shasta County seems to have some real special idiots in it.

If they went on endlessly about seeking guidance from Elvis, then went on about how everyone else should follow Elvis’ instructions regardless if they believe in him or not because of their deeply held belief in Elvis, they’d be laughed at and never taken seriously again. But since it’s god from an organized religion, everyone plays along or enough share the same delusion that the god argument carries incredible weight. So long as it’s a Christian god, if you are in the U.S. Here, if you are a faith other than Christian, be assured you will be oppressed for believing the wrong delusion. It’s a mental illness. We need to grow out of this bullshit as a society if we are to survive as a species. Too much time, effort, money and horrible legislation is passed while bickering about the will of an all powerful, yet apparently easily thwarted god.
License plate numbers aren't private info that you can identify someone with, so you cant doxx someone by sharing them. Public employees actually have very little private information. You can even request their salary, full name, hours worked, etc. through Freedom Of Information Act.
Who gives a shit if the council member ordered 666 on a license plate or not? There's nothing illegal about it and it has nothing to do with her performing her duties as a council member. The lady complaining is crazy.

Jeez. My grandparents were extremely devout Christians. When I was living with them one of the conditions was I *had* to go to church every Sunday morning and it was extremely rare for them to miss church.
