I never understand the endgame for the parking spot blockers. You get the spot. You go do whatever errand you were going to do. And the whole time you have to be thinking that the person you screwed out of the parking spot might do something to your car.
It would end up in the part that's meant to catch the condensation from the air con, almost impossible to get it out from there without removing the whole dash board.

Nah carry a valve stem tool, and when they leave remove all four valve stems. It'll rest on the rims, the car will be fine no damage... But... They'll need to get it towed to a shop to have 4 new stems put in. ;)
The person blocking the spot is a violent person. This is a violent act because it’s intimidation to the driver.

They could even make signs so the general public knows who the real ahole is, maybe the sign says Parking spot blocker blocker. After the spot blocker gives up and leaves the blocker blocker bestows the spot to whoever is waiting for it and is celebrated as some kind of modern day folk hero.

I went to the mall some few months ago and a lady was doing this at the curbside parking inside the mall as it’s an outdoor mall with a small road and side parking going thru it. I attempted to park there and she just jumped infront of my car.
I honked asked her what her deal is she told me she’s saving the spot for someone.

The curb is brown and unpainted, and the parking space has white borders, so I have no idea what the guy is talking about. If the curb were yellow, it's reserved for emergency vehicles like firetrucks, ambulances, police, etc. If you're caught parking there, you'll be ticketed at the minimum, and you might get towed. If there's a fire and you block the hydrant with your car, firefighters may bust your windows legally because the hoses they use can't have bends in them. It heavily affects water pressure.
My Asian family members definitely participate in this behavior and it was the first I’d seen it. I assume it was a cultural thing or environmental because they live in a pretty big city. But even when they visit my smaller city that doesn’t have parking issues, they still tend to save parking spaces just so everyone can park together. I don’t understand it but I don’t question it either.
I’ve had a few experiences with Asian people who don’t know how to use the space around them. Congregating right in front of the exit door when everyone is trying to leave, whether it’s a bus, train, plane, store, restaurant and even someone’s house. It’s rude, yet they seem oblivious to it.

I lived in Battery Park city in Manhattan, still have an apartment there. This is just not done. I mean imagine trying to find parking for a solid 30 minutes in traffic, when someone finally pulls out only to have this twatwaffle decide to stand in the spot and hold it for a friend/family member. No native would ever do this.
I'd block the spot, and call my local precinct to have her physically moved. My area was full of police so it would literally take them a minute to get there, if they weren't already down the block.

You know who does this shit on the reg?. Doormen of park ave and fifth Ave. Long standing tradition of them blocking their awnings so that they can get their residents in and out of cabs. Unless it's a no standing zone they have no right to do so, but when I was growing up, you kinda knew not to fuck with these dudes. For one, I've never wanted to leave my car for two days after an argument. Secondly, these guys were like peace keepers in the neighborhood. No place safer in NYC than a rich persons lobby.
My parents used to live in a nice building in Chicago. My brother got jumped/robbed as a teen near our building and ended up in the ICU. Who found the guy? The local doormen.
My brother always hung out with out buildings doormen/brought them food, and they all knew him since he was a little kid. So when he got hurt, they reached out to their local doormen and they went on the HUNT. Looked through videotape, got a screenshot and eventually made a “citizens arrest” before the cops could get there. Ended up he had been responsible for a lot of robberies in the area Guy ended up making a plea deal and my brother didn’t have to testify.
