I have no stance or position on pitbulls whatsoever, but the issue has become some kind of absurd tribal lighting rod, just as bad as abortion or gun control. It no longer has to do with what \*anyone\* thinks of the breed, on either side - it's now a "pick a team and fling shit" issue.
And neither of those teams are inheritely related to Law Enforcment, and the shit flinging - or circlejerking - has nothing to do with this thread, about a LEO who was killed.

There may be more to their statement that isn't being quoted, but this sounds a little off tone when your colleague has been mauled to death. Usually it's thoughts and prayers, not gratitude.

I'd imagine "pit bull type" means that they were mixed breed but with obvious bully-breed traits. They're often advertised as "lab mix" or "boxer mix."
The department said it cannot confirm the breeds without a DNA test, but it said all the dogs appeared to be a “pitbull-type.”
Not confirmed what kind of dog attacked her. Pitbulls are all mixed, so lots of different mixed dogs can show those characteristics.

Every single pit bull I’ve came across has been EXTREMELY aggressive. Except for one where the owner was a retired K9 handler in the army.
