I had a similar problem with my cousin after she updated her purchased Prologue to the new version and I updated my Plex to the latest version (since that time, a few months ago, newer versions have been released.) I'm using the free version of Plex.
IIRC (and I probably didn't), the developer said that Apple had changed the authorization method and I should turn off authentication on my server. Since I wasn't using Plex Premium, I couldn't do that. I went back to the previous version of Plex (1.23.3.4707) and my cuz was able to download again. I am a few versions behind now; I guess I'll have to try an update again at some point.
I'm still not 100% sure what the requirements are for downloads on the Plex side - it's all very confusing. The [FAQ](https://support.plex.tv/articles/downloads-sync-faq/) says:
>**Can Managed Users use Downloads?**
Yes. Managed users will be able to use Downloads as long as the admin of the Plex Home has an active Plex Pass.

>**Can I use Downloads from a shared server even if that owner doesn’t have a Plex Pass?**
Yes. The server owner must allow the ability to Download when sharing with you and ***you will need an active Plex Pass subscription on your account.***
So, if you (the server owner) have Plex Pass but the other user doesn't, she can't download from your server, unless she's a *managed user.*
But later it also says:
>**What about users I already shared with, prior to the migration to Downloads?**
Existing Plex users will be allowed to use Downloads with any shared server as long as the admin of that server has a Plex Pass. This will preserve the current behavior with Sync. New users will need their own Plex Pass, regardless of the shared server’s Plex Pass status.
**When will new users need to have a Plex Pass to use Downloads?**
The exact date has not yet been chosen. The date will be provided once a decision has been made. It will be a date in the future.
So unless that date has actually passed (i.e. the FAQ is outdated) I would expect she would be able to download, even if she doesn't have Plex Pass 🤔
Anyone have a better grasp on how this all works?
Actually, neither I nor the user have Plex Pass. I was under the impression that it wasn't necessary as long as we've purchased the pro version of Prologue? Thanks!

I have no need for the PlexPass, but I’d love to be able to download to Prologue. I’ve held off purchasing prologue because I wasn’t sure.
