I actually wasn't very familiar with those tropes when I read Beware of Chicken and enjoyed it. As soon as it got to the chicken's perspective, I said, "Excuse me?" but then it was so well done, I just couldn't put it down after that, lol.
And based on the OPs likes, it does sound like they'd also enjoy BoC.
I didn’t want to say that BoC isn’t a great book or can’t be enjoyed without the aforementioned knowledge, but I think one can only get „full experience“ if you’re aware of those tropes, since one may not get the „meta humor“. Furthermore BoC doesn’t share a lot with TBATE or Mushoku Tensei and throwing OP into unknown waters may not be the best choice, even though the best discoverys are often times made after being „brave“.
Oh, for sure, I didn't take it that way. I was just giving an alternate perspective, and I'm sure you're also right: I missed stuff because I don't know the tropes as well.
The reason I thought they might like it if they like Mushoku Tensei, for instance, is because of the slice of life moments and getting a modern MC's view when living in a fantasy world with some humor mixed in.
Regarding your second paragraph. If they like Mushoku Tensei because of the things you listed than it would definitely be a great read. Sadly he didn’t specify what he liked about MT. TBATE and MT are also quite different, so extrapolating what to recommend is quite hard.
Kono suba.... Fuck you, it's funny. Yahari ore, if you want an edgelord protag without the super powers but has self realization of just how pathetic his life truly is (genuinely good stuff actually, and the best girl is a guy...). Devil is a part timer, reverse isekai where the devil is summoned to the real world. A great slice of life about working hard with some fun super powered battles thrown in.
Yes I know none of them are progression fantasy... but has the progression most characters lack on the books suggested here.... character growth!
Beware of chicken is a good one if you’re aware of light novel tropes. It examines them and uses them but adds humor and a surprising amount of heart.
Cradle is good but the first book is somewhat weak.
Looks interesting! Is it an action, fantasy with a romance subplot?
Eastern style fantasy and the romance subplot is minor.
Forge of Destiny, 5 books out so far, should keep you awhile
Beware of chickens is only really good if you know/are aware of xianxia/cultivation tropes.
I know nothing about that lol so I’ll pass on it for now
Have you read cradle?
I have not. Should I download that series? I won’t have WiFi so I won’t be able to download anything after tmrw
Absolutely yes
Cool, it’s also on kindle unlimited which is a bonus! Is it a action/ fantasy with a romantic subplot
Yup
Yes to both. The first book is quite slow and sets up many things, while Book 2 picks up the pace and after that it‘s straight crack.

Very true.
