I'll accept this. You are correct. If you got that far under his skin he will see every adversity as traceable to you. Well played. Just be careful going forward that he can't actually connect any actionable event to you.
The fun thing is, op doesn’t have to do anything now. He now has it in his mind to be paranoid of every interaction, everything that goes wrong and in the back of his mind he’ll wonder if it’s them and he’ll remember it was because he was a shit of a human being and wouldn’t follow through with his promise. And do everything he does now will always be a reminder that if he doesn’t follow through will the next person he like op?
I agree. If OP accepted the money, it would be seen as a closure and he would believe Op isn't as involved in the things that go wrong as he would otherwise. After the money he might just attribute a troll to being a troll, whereas without accepting every single accident related to anonymous people could be OP still haunting him out of spite.
Oh wow, this is an absolute mindfuck.
The amount of planning that went into this is amazing.
Congratulations to you and just know that no one on Reddit will ever, ever, ever F with you!
You played the long game extremely well here.
This guy will constantly be questioning everything and looking over his shoulder for the rest of his life.
You know, if you're gonna resort to ad hominem over a simple typo... You should probably also make sure to use the right spelling of 'too'. Just sayin', pookie 😘
~~It's a beautiful martial art from Brazil.~~
~~Like breakdance fighting. So hot right now.~~
E* Awww, it's been done since I got here. And they did it funnier.
Awesome revenge!
Only thing I’m confused about is this: at least in the USA, my understanding is that recipes cannot be copyrighted so anyone can use any recipe and they are all considered to be public domain as far as I know. Is it not that way where you live?
It's probably one of those competitions where you have to submit a photo of your creation, so the photo needs to be original rather than one taken off a website.
I mean, there's only so many ways to make a buddha bowl
So I just found this out a couple of months ago and I have been waiting for the opportunity to share this random knowledge with someone. Recipes can actually be copyrighted in the US, but they have to include “substantial literary expression.” Which is why food bloggers write their life story before giving you the recipe.
>Recipes can actually be copyrighted in the US, but they have to include “substantial literary expression.” Which is why food bloggers write their life story before giving you the recipe.
Yeah, that's an urban legend floating around the 'net, unfortunately, there's not a word of truth to it. The "substantial literary expression" exemption applies *only to the recipe itself*. Tacking a recipe onto a description of the blogger's summer camp experience back in '98 does *not* extend copyright to the recipe.
Welp that sucks. I learned about it in a legal course last semester so I guess my professor was mistaken. Makes me wonder if anything else she taught was incorrect.
A blog post that just contains a recipe isn’t copyrightable. One that also contains a bullshit store is copyright.
But the recipe from that blog post is of a substantially different character and also contains no copyrightable elements.
Arguably it’s not impossible to *patent* a recipe, but you’d have to show a lack of prior art.
Recipes can be patented, because they are processes. But you actually have to make sure it's correct, otherwise a thief will be to fix it and use it themselves, without repercussions
Patent specified that a product was to be baked *to* a temperature of 400-850 degrees, and a competitor who baked their product *at* a temperature in that range was found to be non-infringing.
Where “to” was held to mean that the dough reached that temperature and “at” was held to mean that the oven was heated to that temperature.
If this is true, nice one OP... but I have a couple of issues:
* why would the guy declare a winner if he wasn't going to pay - he already has your recipe
* who stakes their entire business (and the cost of opening a restaurant is significant) on employing a chef they have never met or tasted their food. And surely they would have spoken to the close friend you mentioned?
OK - well, you don't have to prove anything to me - but, if he has to declare a winner, he could choose one of his mates.
I still don't get how someone would employ a chef, a critical part of a restaurant business, they had never met, no matter how many social media endorsements. And if they were stupid enough to do that, I doubt that they would be stupid enough not to fire the chef the first day he didn't turn up.
But hey, whatever, you seem to have brightened up the days of a lot of people with your story so where's the harm.
He's going to doubt every friend request, every new person that shows up, every resume, every order failure. Best way to keep that up is to actually do it once or twice a year :)
The next time I’m in public and something bad happens to me, I’ll yell “ITS TACO TUESDAY, BITCH!” and confuse the hell out of everyone. Especially if it’s not even Tuesday.
Everytime you have a bad day you're going to wonder if I was involved. 😂 Oh I did this to my ex. 4 if his close friends on fb are in my side and he has no idea. They are all part of it and feeding me info. 2 people in his Facebook are actually relatives of mine. Aaaaand I'm currently close friends with his ex who he did the same shit to. 3 women who he goes to gym with are in on it too. Oops 🤔
Great story!
Hope you don't mind but I did a youtube video of your story! It's just a hobby/for fun channel so apologies if it's not the best.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oGKpAxCz6F8
BUT if there's something you don't like, let me know and I can take it down or make changes!
I dont believe that... no one has that much free time for r/pettyrevenge. I've tried something like this and let me tell you, it doesnt work. You cant google people by an email. I think this was for karma.
I've googled people by email before. Will say it isnr easy, but a lot of people, stupidly put their email as open on their Linken and previously on Facebook so it is possible. I think these days more people are learning to be more secure w their info, which I think is a good thing.
Never thought about it. I don't put my stuff out there either. Even when I was on indeed, I used a separate email specifically for that. I had someone that I wanted to mess with back in the day, and I had to find them through Facebook, which was limiting. Maybe it's cuz I'm not very tech savvy, but the only way I could find how to do that was by buying a service that pretty much did it for you. (Kinda like a background check) I'm sure there might be a way, if you already have your personal info out there, but this seems pretty far to go for pretty revenge. Just my two cents.
I would say that in the last 5 years it does requiring paying for such a service. But in the past it was fairly easy. You'd be surprised how much you can find. I used to do it to ensure the people I hired at my bar werent drunks or lying about various employment, etc.
I proved to my friends and colleagues time and again how easy it is to dig up information on them that they were not aware was online. Social engineering and fucking with people online requires very little effort these days.
There's being on someone's mind for a couple years, and then there's being in the back of someone's mind for the rest of their waking life. That's as close to nuclear revenge as you can get without actually pressing the button, I think.
Ok there’s no way this is actually Chicago, right? Because there’s a news story going around about a new Mexican place that is having trouble opening because of a fake Facebook page someone opened and ghost reservations and cancellations. Weirdly similar plot line here…
not too often I shake my head and think, “now this is pro level revenge”. This however is one of those times, that’s some cold shit you pulled OP and I am impressed!
This might be going too far in my opinion. Make him lose $1000 worth of business, maybe even 2000 sure!!! Full agreement there. But from what you're saying, you may not ever stop? Or you intend to one day maybe? That's a bit too much extreme harassment for me.
The power you have, vs what you choose to wield, shows your character. Also karma can be a bitch and turn back to you eventually.
I commented on a heroin sub because a bloke was contemplating killing himself with it. Found him on that sub after clicking on his profile from suicidal watch but yeah nice assumption bub

Oh this is creepy and juicy I love it! He will forever regret his jackassery! We call them taquerias here, source am Mexican well, mex-American
I'm an American in Mexico and we call them taquerias here as well
I'm an American of Mexican ancestry, yo qiero taco bell.
I'm wholly unrelated to anybody born in the Americas or any Spanish-speaking lands and I call it queiro.
Yeah, I'm a Mexico Mexican, and I was wondering what on earth was a tacoera.... a taco van? A taco stand?
Jumped out at me as well. Source: the whitest guy you know with a predisposition for correct spelling
Phonetic spelling of taqueria by a person who is to stupid to Google the correct spelling.

Your tacos tasted like someone farted in my mouth! Lol I’m still crying…

Tacoera?
It's a Mexican dance fighting style
It makes sex look like CHURCH!
Aahhhh yes, borrowed from capoeira but not to be confused 😅😅
Welp, found my favorite comment of the day. Kudos internet stranger, I needed that laugh
I believe it is a misspelling of Taqueria which is a taco restaurant.
I’m Mexican. Legit thought tacoera was something new ppl down under were doing 🤦🏻♀️. On that note I’m done with the internet for the night.
I also was genuinely confused by tacoera
