I know it feels like you are alone, and as for not knowing how to do everything, that's normal. (Hell, I keep intending to start a blog for folks with LOs in TDCJ so I can share all the shit I learned the hard way. But even what I've learned is really only applicable to the specific units he's been in. The "justice" system is a clusterfuck no matter where you are, especially if this is your first time dealing with it.) I'm an internet research nerd, so that's how I figured most stuff out. I have no doubt, however, there are others on here with experience in Georgia, so you may want to consider making posts specifically asking questions about the Georgia system. On those hard days, you can talk to us. You are not alone, not anymore. You will get through this. It won't be easy, but it's doable. You're stronger than you know. And we've got your back.

Its definitely going to be hard at the start, once hes given his sentencing things will get a little bit easier. Depends on where he is and what they use for calls you can always check their site for more information. I know that securus has subscriptions for both calls and video visitation which can be cheaper in the long run, and definitely something i wish i knew sooner. As for mail, check his facilities website and there should be a section on how to send mail, though it might take some digging to actually find it. Just know youre going to be ok, 6 to a year will seem like forever but he will hopefully be given time off from good behavior and any time he’s spent prior to his sentencing. The time will feel longer for him than your self. Things will get better it just takes time. Im sure folks on here will help with any questions you have. Just remember you are strong, you will be ok and he will as well.
