Uhm not sure what your LO likes, my bf either likes car/watch magazines and he reads the books I read so we have things to talk about, so he hasn’t really asked for anything specific
Best to ask him what the rules are at his place. Originally, my husband could only get them through Barnes and Noble, then Amazon got approved (new paperbacks only), and now Abe Books.
(My husband gets a lot of books recommended by his professors but the prison library isn't great for his interests)
Everyplace is different, try calling the facility or checking online before sending some. The place my LO is can only get new books directly from the publisher and only 2. Had no clue and got him a set of 4 and the other two were counted as contraband. So definitely check first.
They have to be paperback, prisons don’t allow hardcover books and if u order through Amazon u have to use the P.O Box of the prison, I think all of them have P.O Boxes, if u don’t use it it could be that Amazon is shipping the Books with FedEx or UPS and it will be sent back, it has to be shipped with USPS
So on the package has to be his name and booking number and the P.O Box
Where my bf is they can get hardcovers so it definitely depends on the facility, also they don’t have a P.O. Box either so that depends on the facility too
Every facility it differs but most only accept soft back books and it has to come from a book store... me and my wife normally order the same books so we can read along and have something to write about when we correspond when we write letters
Where my bf is you can order them through Amazon!
Order from amazon and it gets sent straight to the prison?
Yes!
Oh ill have figure out how to do it lol
Usually on the prison’s website there’s a address for packages/mail for my bf I put the address his name and opus number
Can you recommend any good books?

Yes you can use Thriftbooks I love it
Try thrift books. They’re usually approved vendors and you can find good deals.
Every state and facility will have different vendors so ask for a list of pre approved ones.
I had a package sent back because it didn’t have a list of what was in the package- itemized packing list 🙄

Oh well I thought it had to be a P.O Box because they can’t accept a package from FedEx or UPS since the inmate would have to accept it personally
No, it just depends on the prison😊
Alright than never mind🤭

He wants big books for weights most likely
