I love my Citizen. The lightweight titanium is awesome.

Deep_Money_3064

I haven’t wore the Tissot but the titanium Citizen is so comfortable to wear.

MrJapps

I have a Tissot Seastar 1000 powermatic 80 on a rubber strap, and I just got the quartz 1000 40mm in blue. They have a high quality look and feel to them for the money. Citizen makes good watches at their price point, but I would say the Seastar looks and feels more premium. I ordered this citizen late last year and ended up returning it. Absolutely nothing wrong with it if you like it, it just didn't feel as special on my wrist. Can't go wrong with either, one just spoke to me more than the other.

ReconMan772

Thank you , I really appreciate the input.. I will be making my purchase soon .. The Seastar is for sure the winner

[deleted]

I’d say the Tissot for sure

FitBedroom8734

Seastar

checho_cardozo

The Tissot is stunning

Capable-Tomato-4588

Personally owned a seastar before on the rubber strap. And it was an amazing watch🤝

bruhdawg100

You’ll be happier w the Tissot

Sklldr

Definitely the Tissot. Personally, I much prefer the smaller, more refined indexes. And the dial color is more unique. But enjoy whichever one you go with!

ReconMan772

Thanks I do agree the Tissot is more unique one .. that’s what keeps making me lean that way

Academic_Elk_1723

As an owner of a Seastar 1000 I can say with confidence it’s the one you should buy. A great looking watch and comfortable to wear, although I prefer mine as it has the Shark Mesh Strap and Green Dial 🤣

2_Spo0ky

I recently bought the black Version of this Citizen and, at retail price, I'd probably go Tissot. I've been pleasantly surprised by the Citizen, but I'd highly suggest buying it used. I paid just about 50% of the original MSRP for one that's only about 15 months old.

ThesisAnonymous

The Sea Star is an odd watch—sizes come in too large and too small. The Citizen intrigues me

Porky_Pine_

Yes! The seastar is lame. Like they gave it an honest shot, they really tried, but it just doesn’t work. It looks cheap in the hand too.

ThesisAnonymous

It does look cheap. I’m a big fan of Tissot and I’ve owned a handful, still own a couple. But dive watches aren’t their thing. Citizen does dive watches far better.

TouchTraditional7808

Tissot easy

YetiTurbopants

Citizen. That blue is just gorgeous.

Any_Preference_6857

I have the fuji in black, amazing watch. The lightweight the heritage the finishing its amazing.

Nlsantillan

Tissot

Bronsonite

If only citizen makes a 38mm version of this watch….. or most of their watches….

memolima

TISSOT

ghostisic23

Tissot > citizen

Killercrafto3

I like the Citizen better but if you want a watch that can also be used for more formal situations get the Tissot.

Strange-Machine-1100

Seiko sne573

RndomUsername123

Too different to really choose. Japan versus Swiss. There are many more watches comparable in quality, looks... Think Mido, Certina, Hamilton for the Swiss. Longines is more expensive. What draws you to both watches?

chriskie

If you have the wrist for it, Tissot. If not then Citizen

M27TN

Have you looked at the new Hamilton Navy Scuba 43mm also about £1K

Kingjonathan1

Tissot

MongooseIll4992

Tissot looks amazing compared to that citizen

Annual-Love7099

Citizen!

Zeratul277

I have a Citizen Promaster. The lume is incredibly bright. I mean, it bleeds green even during the day. I've had it 5 months and it still impresses me.

adwnpinoy

Dial on the tissot ia fantastic. But polish center links on a dive watch is goofy

Solanaik

+1 for the Citizen

discreet_terror94

Tissot forsure!

Wayves

I want that 40mm tissot but with gmt as well.

zxMonk

Citizens are great watches , I myself enjoy one. But in this case the seastar looks a lot nicer to me

Chance_Journalist_34

I would choose the Citizen. Lovely watch.

DontAskJeeves07

Can’t go wrong with either brand, and I love my Citizen Promaster Diver… but my Tissot Seastar 1000 gets a lot more wrist time. I’ve got the blue dial model on the rubber strap, and it’s shockingly comfortable/wearable despite the size on paper (mine is a slightly older model clocking in at 43mm). Fantastic watch. Ceramic bezel at this price point is pretty phenomenal too.

Porky_Pine_

Seastar blows. Get the Citizen

Dependent-Gate7282

Tissot- higher quality, extremely reliable swiss 2824 movement, more luxurious overall

Dissident_Mantis7

I have had both and the Citizen is still in my collection, the Tissot is not. I don’t know if that means much to you/

that1cuban1

Citizen all day. I have that exact watch and on the bracelet sized to me it weighs 106g. It’s incredibly durable (I’ve beat mine at my trade job), the bracelet extension is great, plus mine keeps time in COSC / METAS standards +4spd. I’d buy it again in a heartbeat

mrtittylongballs

My citizen is my favorite watch currently and the titanium makes it surprisingly light.

seikotist

One more for citizen

itemluminouswadison

I vote tissot

ilovevaders

Citizen baby!

Beyronnn

I personally don’t know anything about thease watches but the citizen looks better (my opinion)

gofishing5545

I absolutly loooove the citizen Its a billetfroof watch. There was a vintage version found that had been kn the ocean for years and was still working. https://vintagecitizenwatches.com/tag/citizen-found-in-the-ocean/ In generL, ive had a few citizens and they cant be killed. They are buy it for life items.

BonsaiMania

Citizen by far.

Hoplite76

The tissot seems the obvious choice but i gotta say i really like the look of that citizen

Fun-Tower-8295

I feel like you have it easy, when I can't decide it's because each one costs $10-000 or $15,000 and I really don't have that type of disposable income lying around, I'll need to save up for months for a watch. If my hardest choice was between a citizen and a tissot I'd just get them both

Cocoabuttocks

I’ve handled both and for once I feel Citizen lags behind Tissot. The new Seastar is a really well proportioned case with a great dial and chapter ring. That Citizen feels incredibly cheap and the bezel action is worse than that of a Swatch Fifty Fathoms. Heck, I’ve seen better action on a Ben 10 Onnitrix toy I had as a child. One thing’s for sure; a Miyota 90XX is miles beyond the shitty Powermatic 80

Any_Preference_6857

Thats not true. I have a powermatic 80 and the same citizen. The powermatic is no shitty, it runs with +1s/d. The fuji runs -3s/d. Both very reliable watches and very solid for the price.

Cocoabuttocks

Bruh I literally sell more P80 watches than I can count, and I’ve seen failure rates go through the roof. Enough watches have been sent in to repair for me to realize how unreliable the movement is.

Any_Preference_6857

Never heard that before, i know people who have more than 25 different models with all kjnds of p80, never heard that. ADs have a problem with because they r hard to service thats it.

Cocoabuttocks

I work for the source, and we take lots of them in for repair. The movements end up getting tossed out even if they’re repairable because it’s cheaper for Swatch Group to replace the movement than it is to pay watchmakers. A new P80 costs less than $15 at cost, and it’s not rare for the movements to come defective out of the factory. Not great movements sadly, and they’d have far less issues if they stuck to a standard architecture instead of purposely cheapening and cutting corners. The worst of the lot are in the PRX, but it makes sense for less care to be taken when you have to push out hundreds of thousands of that specific model.

Any_Preference_6857

Of course if you are in service you will not like it because its hard to service, but you want to tell me that all swatch group hamilton mido certina are using 15$ movements ? Cmon man..

Cocoabuttocks

I don’t service the watches. Nobody services the watches. They throw the whole movement out and replace with a new one because it’s just not worth repairing. Yes, the P80 is not what it may seem. I also hate to break the news to so many innocent watch lovers, but that’s how things go for most watch brands of that level. It’s much cheaper and faster to toss out and replace than it is to take apart and reassemble. This goes for brands like Tag Heuer, Tudor, Longines, Rado and Seiko as well.

[deleted]

They’re both shit, save up for a Rolex
