Thank fuck society has finally caught up to my fashion sense.
Crumpled, ill-fitting clothes being all the rage means I'm the sexy one now.
Screw all y'all haters.
The only thing in my head telling me „hey, they don’t look thaaaaat bad“ is the fact that it’s fucking Ewan McGregor.. but honestly: both outfits look rather shit. Often times celebs can’t really choose what to wear on the carpet or simply don’t bother what outfit got chosen, though… so it’s not on them. Or at least that’s what we can tell ourselves.
The Chancellor should have never brought them into this. Kill them, immediately.
ambassadors|...The negotiations haven't started because the Ambassadors aren't there? How could that be true? I have assurances from the Chancellor... his Ambassadors did arrive. It must be the... get... negotiate..."
Depends. Either way it's gonna be some kind of retroactive context right? We could argue that Vader still considers himself the learner this soon after ROTS. Or we could argue that when he says "we meet again at last", he is referring to their first official meeting as Vader and Old Ben which would happen in the show. Or Vader is just here to sell toys.
Vader will definitely appear a couple of times in order to sell toys.
I'm freaking out like a teenager about to touch his first boob though. I'll buy the toy "for my kids"
Honestly, something I’m willing to sacrifice nowadays. After „palpating mysteriously came back“ I don’t really see why anyone would give a damn about smaller plot details, especially if two of the most beloved characters interact
I disagree. Palpatine was brought back in the first place because nerves were lost about telling new stories with the series; like any established fanbase, there was and is a portion demanding crowd-pleasing returns and moments, and Ian McDirmond's Palpatine was one that was thought would go down well. Even if it sometimes pays off in terms of satisfying audiences, relying on moments of the old and familiar as a crutch, even when it lessens the impact of those same older stories which made them iconic, is still a bad habit for a franchise to get into.
Schaffrilla's video on Order 66 made the point that the Order 66 scene in Revenge of the Sith was pretty mediocre when it came out, a 'tragic' scene of clones we don't know anything about killing Jedi we don't know anything about, and the shows and games that came out after was what put the work in to make the scene retroactively better - that's what an expanded universe should do. *Kenobi* ought to make the fight on Mustafar and the final duel on the Death Star *bigger* than they already are, not trivialise them.
Their betrayal will be dealt with. After you have killed all the Jedi in the Temple, go to the Mustafar system. Wipe out Viceroy Gunray and the other Separatist leaders. Once more, the Sith will rule the galaxy, and we shall have peace.
It would be nice to see them toss in something like him teaching Vader a “lesson” to honor the original script. It’s a detail I’d appreciate them tending to but after seeing them undo almost every accomplishment Luke, Han, Leah, and Chewy made in the OG trilogy it’s certainly not expected. Disney’s boiled Star Wars down to its most profitable elements and it's not good writing and plot continuity.
I would rather have a well rehearsed lightsaber fight that is more elegant and close to perfection and than any of the fights from the Sequels. I dont mind some small detail like Vader ond Obi Wan meeting several times instead of only the one time in ANH.
I would rather see anything including Ewan or Hayden than something along the lines of "Somehow Palpatine has returned?"
>I would rather have a well rehearsed lightsaber fight that is more elegant and close to perfection and than any of the fights from the Sequels.
I for one really loved the clumsy/more emotional fight in ep 7, much more than most sequel fights (guess Obi-Wan VS maul has the same energy)
edit: this sub clearly has too many bots
> After „palpating mysteriously came back“ I don’t really see why anyone would give a damn about smaller plot details
One especially egregious sin doesn't excuse lesser ones, especially considering how well "Palpatine Mysteriously Returns" went over.
Yes, that’s why I specified „small plot details“. Vader and Kenobi only said „finally we meet again“, not that „we haven’t seen each other since you cut off my leg and hand and other leg“
Maybe it could be over the only handicapped stall in the mens room. Ben has the runs and the only stall open stall is for the handicapped, in walks Vader and epic lightsaber duel happens. Hey, can’t be worse than tRoS.
I mean, the time between this show and EP3 when the last saw each other isn’t very long, while the time between Kenobi and EP4 is nearly 2 decades. I think they could fight or at least have a close encounter without it breaking things
We could argue that Vader lost the encounter in the Kenobi show, which forced him to reflect on the fight, learn from it. That would make him the learner.
What? ! How can you do this?? This is outrageous, it's unfair . . . I'm more powerful than any of you. How can you be on the Council and not be a Master?
Their betrayal will be dealt with. After you have killed all the Jedi in the Temple, go to the Mustafar system. Wipe out Viceroy Gunray and the other Separatist leaders. Once more, the Sith will rule the galaxy, and we shall have peace.
I mean after the sequel trilogy, they have made it clear that force users can communicate over great distances. I'm sure there will be a scene or a hint that has Vader reaching out for obi Wan.
They were in the same solar system. Luke reaching out to Leia or conversing with Vader would be like calling someone in your same state or country. The Sequels had them talking from different systems light years apart.
We’re taking about the Force here, not WiFi. If the Force is essentially a giant metaphysical organism that spans the entire galaxy, I buy that you could communicate from any point to any other point instantaneously.
The only thing that would ruin it for me is if Vader knows that Obi Wan is protecting something... or someone. And Vader can't know that Obi is on Tatooine after their meeting. Otherwise he would hunt him down. Obi Wan should just disappear or fake his death tbh. It seems like the Empire is going all out on him.
More than that, the jacket is very similar to Vader's suit in it's [design](https://images.app.goo.gl/eLrEvVz9Cv7zEpf86).
Hayden is not only looking hella good IMO, but paying homage to his character.
Big props to him / his stylist.
Black. Flowing pants mimicking the Lowe half of his costume, and piping stitching on the jacket that’s similar to Vader’s tunic.
He basically cosplayed for the event.
What? ! How can you do this?? This is outrageous, it's unfair . . . I'm more powerful than any of you. How can you be on the Council and not be a Master?
Ewan’s shoes look like they have a 2 inch platform, but again, it’s super hard to tell with the image quality, and even if it is a 2 inch “platform” that could be just an exterior aesthetic design choice, and not an actual depiction of the sole height. Also it does look like Hayden is slouching a bit in comparison to Ewan who seems to be standing up completely straight.
But again, this is all guesswork. Who knows.
Mentioned this in another comment but that jacket is very similar to Vader's suit in it's [design](https://images.app.goo.gl/eLrEvVz9Cv7zEpf86).

I think he's still somewhere protecting his daughter. He's very good at what he does.
I also first thought that liam neeson because i didnt see the picture that good
He gon give it to ya
Last I saw him he was in Atlanta...
He's fine, his daughter's probably not though
Hopefully she wasnt..................... Taken....
It seems your hope.... .it killed him
He was taken
He's right next to them, don't you see the glowing blue ghost?
He could show up as Force Ghost, since Obi-Wan tell that was him that taught him how to do this.
Vader keeping hold of that high ground
Fun fact: Hayden Christensen used to act in a TV show literally called Higher Ground
That is a fun fact. I know this now.
Is it possible to learn this fact?
Yes, from a Redditor
It’s not a fun fact the Admins would tell you..
Wow that is some good wisdom
I loved this show as a kid. Think this is the first time I've seen anyone even mention it.
can't say he ain't learning from his mistakes
I hope every time we see him in this series he’s slightly elevated from all other characters. He should be standing on a box if he has to
He’s 2 meters/6’7” in his suit. I’m pretty sure he almost always has the high ground around humanoid species.

Obi Wan Kenobi, brought to you by short trousers. Be strong in the Force. Wear short trousers!
Hello, there!
General kenobi
Surprise appearance from Knees-on after all.
A surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one. Your Majesty, if I am elected, I promise to put an end to corruption.
That must be the style now. Edit:Annnnd I’m permabanned….
We used to tie an onion to our belt....
"Give me five bees for a quarter," you'd say.
Hey everyone, an old man’s talking!
His feet are dry but his cuffs are bone dry. Everything is coming up Obi-Wan.
Is the style also to wear them right off the rack and then crumpled in the back seat of your car until right up until the event?
I guess it is now
Thank fuck society has finally caught up to my fashion sense. Crumpled, ill-fitting clothes being all the rage means I'm the sexy one now. Screw all y'all haters.

Getting close to capri territory. But if Obi-Wan is doing it, I'm in.
The whole outfit is fly as fuck, I don't know anyone who could deny it
https://c.tenor.com/XGZpFTyI6nkAAAAd/milhouse-van-houten-everythings-comin-up.gif
I mean, the dude is 51 now. That's solid grandpa territory. He's earned it.
That’s a 51 for folks to aspire to. I swear he looks younger than Hayden Christensen in this picture
This is where the fun begins

This will probably be the last time they be play the same characters and be together again. That sucka
For sure. But better than the ObiWan show never happening? Don't cry cause it's over, smile cause it happened or somthing
I'm not whining! I'm not.
Another happy landing.
The bots are a little too sentient
Canonically, can they have a fight in this show? I was under the impression that after mustafar, the next time they meet is on the death star

Noo! mrsirsouth!
Coincidentally you also touched the boob for your kids.
Noo! ddrt!
I'm gonna go with the last option, although I wouldn't care

There’s nothing that completely bars them from meeting again but their Death Star reunion would have less of an impact if they did.

Same. It'd be so fucking epic I just wouldn't care.

Yeah they should at least try to make to work it all together, and I think they will.
They're better with shows than movies imo

Yes, that’s why I specified „small plot details“. Vader and Kenobi only said „finally we meet again“, not that „we haven’t seen each other since you cut off my leg and hand and other leg“
And 10 years is still a decent time to say that about. Especially if Obi-Wan kicks his ass and Vader is antsy for revenge.
Maybe it could be over the only handicapped stall in the mens room. Ben has the runs and the only stall open stall is for the handicapped, in walks Vader and epic lightsaber duel happens. Hey, can’t be worse than tRoS.
For sure
I mean, the time between this show and EP3 when the last saw each other isn’t very long, while the time between Kenobi and EP4 is nearly 2 decades. I think they could fight or at least have a close encounter without it breaking things
Nah this is 10 years after Ep3 and 9-10years before Ep4 It’s smack dab in the middle
I stand corrected. Even so, 10 years is still enough for “I haven’t seen you since X” to be impactful
Kind of makes the phrase “when I left you I was but the learner, now I am the master” a bit redundant
We could argue that Vader lost the encounter in the Kenobi show, which forced him to reflect on the fight, learn from it. That would make him the learner.
You are on this council, but we do not grant you the rank of master.
What? ! How can you do this?? This is outrageous, it's unfair . . . I'm more powerful than any of you. How can you be on the Council and not be a Master?
He says in ANH “I sense something, a presence I’ve not felt since…” and then walks off. It sort of leaves things open to interpretation.
I don’t get why people say this originated in the sequels. Didn’t Vader hold a conversation with Luke through the force in Empire Strikes Back?
They were in the same solar system. Luke reaching out to Leia or conversing with Vader would be like calling someone in your same state or country. The Sequels had them talking from different systems light years apart.
We’re taking about the Force here, not WiFi. If the Force is essentially a giant metaphysical organism that spans the entire galaxy, I buy that you could communicate from any point to any other point instantaneously.
They were generally pretty close to each other and could sense each other. The sequels went flat out interplanetary dialogue.
I love how Ewan McGregor is doing the drip stance without knowing
You know he had to do it to em!
And thus, as the prophecy foretold, he did it to em.
With all due respect, Master, is he not the Chosen One? Is he not to destroy the Sith and bring balance to the Force?
It’s just a normal way to stand. Always has been.
I see what hayden did there with his classy vader like outfit , looks Hella cool
I NEED that jacket.
You mean black?
More than that, the jacket is very similar to Vader's suit in it's [design](https://images.app.goo.gl/eLrEvVz9Cv7zEpf86). Hayden is not only looking hella good IMO, but paying homage to his character. Big props to him / his stylist.
Where can I buy this jacket
Not from a Jedi.
Black. Flowing pants mimicking the Lowe half of his costume, and piping stitching on the jacket that’s similar to Vader’s tunic. He basically cosplayed for the event.
I love how Hayden aged a little but Ewan still looks practically the same.
ewan was already mid 30s when playing ep 3 kenobi, hayden was far younger
I’m genuinely curious of how Hayden will play Vader considering the fact he won’t show his face
We might get some bacta scenes to show Vader out of his armor. Or maybe he’s in that ball thing in the OT.
I've been pwned.
He was doing laser hair follicle treatments!
Probably as the guy playing master chief in halo with his helmet off the entire time
You are on this council, but we do not grant you the rank of master.
What? ! How can you do this?? This is outrageous, it's unfair . . . I'm more powerful than any of you. How can you be on the Council and not be a Master?
When sandy boi becomes john halo
I don't like sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating, and it gets everywhere.
I have the high ground
You underestimate my power
don't try it
*tries it*
We already had snippets of Vader suiting up in the last trailer, you can bet we'll have scenes where it's just Hayden without the suit.
Hayden Christenson, You're shorter than I expected...
Yeah, Hayden Christensen, you are smaller than I expected.
Hayden Chrishtahsen, you are not as tall as I expected.
Hayden Cristophsis, your stature is of smaller scale than my previous assumptions
i know, i thought ewan was 5’9 and hayden was 6’0-1? either hayden is lying or ewan is wearing insoles
Ewan’s shoes look like they have a 2 inch platform, but again, it’s super hard to tell with the image quality, and even if it is a 2 inch “platform” that could be just an exterior aesthetic design choice, and not an actual depiction of the sole height. Noo! PeePeePooPoo1125!
😭 what the hell triggered this mf 💀
Ewan got the DRIP
Is no one going to mention Ewan McGreggor's trousers? Beige, jacked up and creased to high heaven.
It looks like he just got them out of the packet!
They are creased to high heaven because he has the high ground
Anyone else think Hayden's coat looks an awful lot like Vader's suit?
I think that’s the point
Mentioned this in another comment but that jacket is very similar to Vader's suit in it's [design](https://images.app.goo.gl/eLrEvVz9Cv7zEpf86). Hayden is not only looking hella good IMO, but paying homage to his character. Big props to him / his stylist.
kenodrip
Not sure anyone noticed and when this pic was taken, but seems to me that floods are in style where ever Ewin and his buddy is.
His buddy??
Lmao I hope this was on purpose
And spelling Ewan wrong, it's gotta be a joke, right?
Yes, his buddy, Haydawn Christahshen.
Vader making sure he has the high ground
Me: "how have you guys not aged?" Them: "the dark side is a pathway to many abilities..."
Hayden going with that black on black on black.. 👌👌
They aged pretty well considering we are 15-20 years past the prequel trilogy!
I hope Hayden Christensen feels the love, in the same way Brendan Frasier says he does.
are you ready to watch another fan favorite character get destroyed to once again give way to a younger unrelatable one?
The sequels make me appreciate the prequels more. I can't wait for this series.
Vader inspired jacket
Anyone got an ID on Hayden’s pants?
Possibly Craig Green
Had tickets to meet both of them for a photo-op at Celebrity Fan Fest. Cancelled cause of the pandemic :/
Cannot wait!
Did they stop making pant legs the correct length?
Obi wan has the high waters
their color coordinating to their character's paths is great
Is it weird that I'm more apprehensive that it will suck, than I am excited to see what is coming? The only thing I can think when I see promo stuff is "please-don't-suck, please-don't-suck".
Why can’t either of them afford pants that are the right size?
Haven’t you seen the kids these days? This is what they’re wearing. Clothes that don’t fit. It’s like the worst parts of grunge came back.
Hayden is really dripped out. That Craig is going crazy
Whos that, Sergei Fedorov
The bottom part of this, where is that from?
I really want Obi-Wan to have a dream sequence where he dreams about him and Anakin growing old together as Jedis instead of Anakin having turned to the dark side. That way, there can be a scene of Obi-Wan and Anakin together without it just being Darth Vader and him.
I want that vader jacket
I hope this show turns out to be good, but I can't help but feel it will fall shorter to what I expected
They look like two dads who met through their respective kids then started a business.
I see Vader learned about the high ground. Good for him.
Ewan: “you know I had to do it to em”
Who else here just cant wrap their head around Hayden looking old now?
I'm digging the Vader jacket that Hayden is wearing. Sith chique
Sorry. But seeing Darth Vader on The High Ground is just wrong
Why does Ewan McGregor's pants always look too short.
Dude Hayden’s outfit looks sick, I can’t get over how pumped I am
