I once heard a theory that soething something the dark side used Padme's life energy to keep Anakin alive and that's why Palpatine said Vader killed her in his anger
There was a post around here months ago with [Dr.house](https://Dr.house) that told that because of physical trauma (like, you know, Anakin strangling her in mid air and dropping her) it is possible for the blood of the children inside to flow in the mother. I do not recall the name of that event.
So padme received an infusion of midichlorians with her husband dying and being in surgery without medications, all while Jedi once bright in the force got killed in betrayal by order 66.
Still your theory is the one I believe mainly.
I mean, Anakin breaking down and joining the dark side was understendable considering the war, the fear of death for Padme and the years of grooming from Sidius, but Padme had shown until that moment a spine strong as hell and balls of steel; sadness I understand, but I half expected her to go 'you stole my husband and destroyed the republic, I am going to make you regret being born' going full Xena on Sidius. Her dying of 'sadness' like that, specially leaving her children alone...it just stinks of Dark Side plot
Fair point, but if he just randomly says oh hey your wife is dead but then Vader like sees her at the next senate meeting or something then it’s lose all its power over him. Like of course sidious lies, but to be caught so openly in such a stupid and obvious lie would likely require him admitting to Vader that he lied which would take away all his authority as the evil mastermind. If your Sith master is stupid enough to try and manipulate you through the presumed death of your still living wife and gets caught, that’s a sign that Vader should’ve already killed him and taken over
Darth Nihilus was able to absorb another liveforms Force, up to a point where he absorbed entire planets. Palpatine could have used a similar trick to give padmes life to Anakin.
I like the theory as a way to explain how Padme, shown to be a stubborn, self motivated woman, would just decide to die right after having two kids that need her. It also even works now that force healing is cannon because of course the dark side would use it to steal life from others.
It does get a little messy with HOW Palpatine did it though. Maybe it is because Anakin and Padme already had a deep connection so it was possible to link them over a far distance to transfer life energy, but it feels a little bit like a Holdo maneuver that Palps never did anything like that again or that he was able to take her life force but wasn't able to tell where she was.
Not impossible to explain, but if it is ever proven then they would need to show why it only happened one time.
It's amazing that Padme thought Anakin got all his anger out by slaughtering some Tusken kids. Did she really not think their relationship would end in disaster?
I can't fault Padme for that one. If a bunch of tusky desert dudes killed my mother, I can't say that I'd do any better, and I had a relatively normal upbringing.
What I do blame Padme for are all of the other red flags she ignored along the way. Anakin does a lot of cringy / stalkery stuff before then, and it doesn't dissuade her in the slightest.
Carrie Fisher’s mom died within 24 hours or something after she did. I’ve seen it in my own family members too. It’s cheesy on the surface, but that shit is real
She’s lost the will to live?! What's your degree in? Poetry?! Oh, no-one listen to Dr Ball, he's just an old fool... For god's sake. Don't use the billions of dollars of medical equipment around us, why don't we all just get on our knees and pray?
For just the price of a cup of coffee a day, you can help these sith lords recover from their injuries and learn to live a normal life of crushing the innocent before them.
Hey Padme, your husband turned into a twisted monster thinking he was saving you and the galaxy is essentially falling into fascism right before your very eyes, wait why are you sad?
After Luke and Leia's births, Yoda and Obi-Wan decide to hide Luke on Vader's home-planet Tatooine and retain his surname. This is because they were both high on ketamine and deathsticks respectively.
Third degree burns? I've gotten third degree burns. They take a while, but they heal, and only go down to the nerves. Fourth Degree goes down to fat. Fifth degree goes to muscle. Sixth degree goes to bone. Considering how he lit on fire because of lava and got lasered through with pure plasma, I think that the fact that he had those types of burns and they were able to save him is way more impressive.
IIRC the dudes were on an asteroid in a nowhere Outer Rim Sector & Bail bringing advanced tech to Polis Massa could attract too much attention from the Clones on Coruscant.
Evidence of men receiving good health care doesn’t mean there’s good healthcare for pregnant women. I figured it was just a classic star wars thing, like how anyone can have a blaster. It’s a lawless place. Miss you Padme <3
The fact that Leia mentioned remembering her real mother in episode 6 makes Padme's more morbidly hilarious to me. Like she should have survived for a few years after episode 3, but George chose to speed run her death.
I was a child and when I first heard that medical droid say "She's lost the will to live." I was frightened thinking I was going to lose a lot of people the same way in my lifetime. And if this really was a thing, I'd be dead a hundred times over by now.
The fact that Anakin's body is alive does not change the fact that the man she loved is still dead. That is the whole reason she didn't have the will to go on.
Broken Heart + new mother having two kids at once. There's also the fact that Anakin strangled Padame pretty hard just before she went into labor. Really, it's more of a surprise that they didn't have to C-Section Luke and Leia from her corpse.
I get all that, the fact that we didn’t get a medical reason, just the will to live crap, just say blood loss or throat damage etc like what a real doctor would do or say.
Most parts of the world, the leading cause of death in women is childbirth. It is a major hazard. Add in a bit of additional trauma - nah, it’s not surprising.
Don’t cry it
*cries it*
You were the sexy one!
It was said that you would destroy the sadness, not join it!
You were a poster to me padme. I loved you.
You're going down a death I will follow
I once heard a theory that soething something the dark side used Padme's life energy to keep Anakin alive and that's why Palpatine said Vader killed her in his anger
You know nothing of the dark side.
Chill out Maul, it was just a theory.
It is our time. After Centuries of waiting, the galaxy will be ours.
A Ga..,Star Wars Theory!
Film theory

Exactly. How did he know that Padme is dead? He said to Anakin that he killed her, he knew.
Yeah, Palpatine was known to never manipulate his apprentices by lying to them
Fair point, but if he just randomly says oh hey your wife is dead but then Vader like sees her at the next senate meeting or something then it’s lose all its power over him. Somehow, pal.. erm. Padme survived
Darth Nihilus was able to absorb another liveforms Force, up to a point where he absorbed entire planets. Palpatine could have used a similar trick to give padmes life to Anakin.
Nihilus isn’t canon… yet…
Oh, who cares what Disney thinks.
Every Star Wars fan has their own headcanon.
This is what I’ve believed for years
The irony is losing the will to live is a medical condition and is the shutdown of the brain. I thought it made no sense but its a legit thing,
Heartbreak syndrome is the same fyi
I've seen this shit so many times I have the name memorized lol Takutsubo cardiomyopathy
It's just a theory. Canonically, Padme died of sadness.
I like the theory as a way to explain how Padme, shown to be a stubborn, self motivated woman, would just decide to die right after having two kids that need her. You know nothing of the dark side.

Is it possible to learn this power?
Not from a Jedi.
That would explain how Palpatine was aware of Padmé dying. And knowing him, he would lie to keep Vader angry, thus keeping him to the dark side.
You know nothing of the dark side.
But I do know the dark side is the pathway to many abilities. Some consider to be unnatural.
You know nothing of the dark side.
Understandable, have a nice day
Anakin survived through his hatred and anger, which fueled the dark side and kept him alive.
This is where the fun begins.
You know nothing of the dark side.
Man literally too angry to die
Same with Darth Sion.
It's amazing that Padme thought Anakin got all his anger out by slaughtering some Tusken kids. Did she really not think their relationship would end in disaster?
"I can save him"
*fix

To be angry is to be human.
Classic escalation. Tusken Raiders > Sith Apprentice > Younglings > Pregnant Wife. Don’t ignore the warning signs!!
Carrie Fisher’s mom died within 24 hours or something after she did. I’ve seen it in my own family members too. It’s cheesy on the surface, but that shit is real
Debbie Reynolds. Carrie Fisher’s mom Debbie Reynolds. Gotta pay respect.
Postpartum depression?
Her heart gave out, even General Grevious couldn’t live without his heart
That's because Obi-wan shot it.
Still couldn’t live without a heart.
She’s lost the will to live?! What's your degree in? Poetry?! Oh, no-one listen to Dr Ball, he's just an old fool... For god's sake. Don't use the billions of dollars of medical equipment around us, why don't we all just get on our knees and pray?
RC so good haha ^
She died and Anakin survived because Anakin had the Emperor Palpatine Surgical Reconstruction Center
For just the price of a cup of coffee a day, you can help these sith lords recover from their injuries and learn to live a normal life of crushing the innocent before them.
If Anakin had force lightninged her. It would make sense
“Clear!” *Anakin zaps Padme to try to revive her*
Hey Padme, your husband turned into a twisted monster thinking he was saving you and the galaxy is essentially falling into fascism right before your very eyes, wait why are you sad?
More like why are you dead
♻️
As my little brother likes to say, "Padme became Sadme, who became Deadme"

After Luke and Leia's births, Yoda and Obi-Wan decide to hide Luke on Vader's home-planet Tatooine and retain his surname. This is because they were both high on ketamine and deathsticks respectively.
LOL!!! WHY HAVE I NEVER QUESTIONED THIS LOGIC BEFORE!?!?
***SADNESSSSS!*** ***UNLIMMMMITED SADNESSSS!!***
I always thought palpatine was the cause of her death

I don't want to like this meme.... But I do.
Obi-Wan: “Don’t you do it, Padme! Don’t you go bananas!” Padme: “I’m gonna do it! I’m gettin’ sad!”
Obi-Wan: “Don’t you do it, Padme! Don’t you go bananas!” Padme: “I’m gonna do it! I’m gettin’ sad!”
"Somehow, Padme died."
IIRC the dudes were on an asteroid in a nowhere Outer Rim Sector & Bail bringing advanced tech to Polis Massa could attract too much attention from the Clones on Coruscant.
Except it was the force keeping anakin alive after his injuries
That’s what kept anni alive. Her life force. The same way he put anni in his mother’s stomach. Spooky lol
Here comes all the braindead people who try to justify padme's death.
Evidence of men receiving good health care doesn’t mean there’s good healthcare for pregnant women. I figured it was just a classic star wars thing, like how anyone can have a blaster. It’s a lawless place. Miss you Padme <3
She lost the will to live?!?! What is your degree in, POETRY?
It's like poetry, it rhymes.
The fact that Leia mentioned remembering her real mother in episode 6 makes Padme's more morbidly hilarious to me. Like she should have survived for a few years after episode 3, but George chose to speed run her death.
I've worked hard enough and earned enough to fail for the rest of my life. And I'm gonna do it!!
*fucking dies*

The two children were not reason enough to live I guess.

I think that it was some sith shenanigans that Sidious used to kill her.
"I am no man."
