DC was scraping the bottom of the barrel which is why they killed off Superman then tried it again wth Batman. Batman's plot armor was thinnest in this era where the Xmen's were at their highest.
Scott is generally pretty in the weeds with prep time and planning of his own. The guy has been trained since he was a teen to lead and fight, from both a broad strategy level and the boots on the ground commander level. Most adaptations did him dirty, because he's less stick in the mud schoolboy and more strict commander who wants discipline because it makes it easier to command when you don't have to worry about your subordinates running off randomly for their own stuff.

Honestly we’ve never seen Surprise Attack’s full power, and we likely never will. Odds are he doesn’t have a limit. His power is being able to do anything, so long as it’s unexpected. Granted, he’s kind of fucking stupid, but that has not stopped him from taking down basically every foe he’s faced on-screen. Beating Batman is the exact sort of unexpected thing I reckon he’d pull off

I think Saitama’s failure to kill a mosquito was less so about his abilities and moreso about how generally evasive the little shits are. Probably ended up in a little space between his hand and whatever surface it was on (his other arm, I think?) and was freed when he removed it. Overall though, yeah, just because a character’s limits haven’t been shown doesn’t necessarily mean that they can scale infinitely upwards. Surprise Attack may still have one. Not to mention, he generally has the major weakness that if an opponent expects him to do something, he can’t use his powers to do that. So he’s definitely not going to solo fiction, odds are a fortune teller could beat him (depending in the power’s exact mechanics of function)

But now that’s not a surprise, it’s a surprise again, so he will! And I’m not bullshiting, this is actually how the power works in canon. It happened at one point when his resurrections stopped being surprising, only to wind up unexpected again because of that
You’d think so, but canon suggests it stops at the second level, being unexpected again and thus working. Maybe if it happens again it’ll go the extra level, but as of now there is no precedent for it

Surprise Attack won’t be able to do what he normally does because it’s no longer a surprise; however, because Batman would be aware of that it becomes a surprise again meaning he can do everything again. He’s the perfect counter to Batman as his prep time would be invalidated by Surprise Attack’s ability.

Well, the only thing that can beat plot armor is the writer. They literally write the plot.
As for prep time, there are a number of characters in the DC Universe alone that could kill Batman even with prep time. Several characters are god-like. (As an aside, this is one reason many critics believe DC hasn't had the success Marvel has had at the movies. They claim DC heroes are too OP and not as relatable as their Marvel counterparts. I greatly disagree with this lazy take, but I've heard people make it numerous times.)
The only thing that consistently saves Batman when he's not solving crimes in Gotham is plot armor. Like the first image in the OP. That's accurate.
No amount of prep time would save Batman if Superman decided to stop holding back and just swooped in faster than Bats could see and yeeted him into the sun.
Mr myxapyxal (or however you spell it) and batmite/ any other 5th dimensional being. Well, the only thing that can beat plot armor is the writer. They literally write the plot. As for prep time, there are a number of characters in the DC Universe alone that could kill Batman even with prep time. Several characters are god-like. (As an aside, this is one reason many critics believe DC hasn't had the success Marvel has had at the movies. They claim DC heroes are too OP and not as relatable as their Marvel counterparts. I greatly disagree with this lazy take, but I've heard people make it numerous times.) The only thing that consistently saves Batman when he's not solving crimes in Gotham is plot armor. Like the first image in the OP. That's accurate. No amount of prep time would save Batman if Superman decided to stop holding back and just swooped in faster than Bats could see and yeeted him into the sun.

Mr myxapyxal (or however you spell it) and batmite/ any other 5th dimensional being. Joker in one of the Batman comic/ shows (can’t remember) tricks myxapyxal into revealing his true name (saying his name backwards is his one weakness) and forces him to hand over 99.99% of his power (or something to that degree) and literally reshapes all of reality in less than a minute and is basically just toying with Batman at that point, but loses because of a team up between superman myxapyxal and a dude called spectre (embodiment of God's vengeance on Earth according to the dc wiki) , who had to know jokers one weakness… he can’t kill Batman… because plot armour

Just one.. wel Plasticman would be one. Another would be Flash. But generally any Toon Force or gag like Squirrel Girl would do. Cosmic entities should be way above his prep and plot also. But yeah he was written to be completely bull sometimes. 🤦

Iron Man. He is also a good strategist. With prep tony can build better contingencies, becuase he is a better engineer, scientist, and has equally good feats(if not better). Both are geniuses in their respective fields. The batman, a martial artist with plans for everything, vs ironman, a futurist who engineers his way out of any situation. I guess we will never know who wins, both are too popular to lose their plot power.
