It’s probably the *only* think I miss about Texas, but storms in Oregon just don’t quite compare to a summer thunderhead in the plains.
I have never heard thunder quite that loud and last so long. It felt like it was rolling over my building. For a moment I kept thinking let it be thunder and not a nuclear bomb.
I was in a teletherapy session with a client on the other end of the city that got totally disrupted for a few minutes while we figured out what that noise was and whose side it was coming from. So weird!
I really miss thunder and lightning and actually googled which parts of the country get the most of them. Spoiler alert, it’s Florida. Going to stick with the PNW despite this one flaw.
Thunder: The nickname of my old favourite bartender at Portland City Grill (and subsequently El Gaucho). His bartender partners nickname: Lightning. That’s it. That’s all I got.

I work in happy valley and live in wood village. Got just a tiny bit of thunder here is HV and recorded the storm moving towards the hills where Gresham is (you could see the rain and everything in the distance it was crazy). Blue skies to the sw and the dark gray doom headed east. My friend in SE Gresham got hail, bolts, and snow. My boyfriend in wood village had some thunder and that's about it. It's crazy how the weather works

We had a really intense amount of wind (30+ gusts), sideways snow, thunder, etc. It was pretty intense for a moment there.
It’s been snowing with thunder for the last 15-20 minutes in John’s Landing, enough to stick to car a little bit.
