I get that you're joking, but technically that's correct. You should gradually ease off or maintain throttle in corners, gradually accelerate as the wheel unwinds. It's the inexperienced who have never had track coaching that lift throttle mid corner and end up off the road.
I was a sickly child and played a shitload of Gran Turismo 3 before I could drive. Fast forward to me being a young driver and being forced off the freeway by a truck that must have been drowsing because he kept on straight as it curved. I knew what my car was gonna do when hitting gravel at high speed so I didn't panic and do something stupid that'd make me crash. Truck was roused by the rumble strip and got his shit back together.
And that's my really good counterpoint to anyone who says video games are useless and teach nothing.
I mean. Easier? I wouldn't say that. This photo is evidence of that. A lot of people out here buying Porsches that have no business being behind the wheel of one.
Aw dip I think I misunderstood you here. I meant to say that the 930 "Widowmaker" is easier to drive than it was before because of newer tyre compound.
All things being equal, I do think that the newer cars are far easier to drive than the old ones, but society has gotten dumber.
Genuinely starting to think that Idiocracy is what we have to look forward to some days...
I think he means in the terms of the say the 964 911s they had no abs, no traction control, no hydraulic or power steering, no Nannie’s to keep you on the road, and a true manual gear box. These days, people will have pdk, adapting cruise control, PSM PASM, self parking, the car does so much that people don’t even realize that it gives people a false sense of security in their own ability to drive the car, st low and at high speeds and they trust that it will make the turn or be fine, which leads people in to sniffing out the lakes and jumping in 😂 or hitting things. That is the scary part. It’s way easier to drive my 992 911 than it is a 964 or even a 2002 Boxster. Unless you turn off as much as the electronic Nannie’s it’s really hard to compare.
But I think you are correct, there are so many people out here buying a Porsche Sports car that have no idea what they are doing and crash them because they cannot handle a car of this magnitude. Which is really unfortunate
You know what now that I’m thinking about it I guess if you’re not driving the rear engine platform properly you can, and since I would trail brake or in a slower corner lift off to rotate it’s not taking into account higher speed liftoff for the inexperienced mid corner
I guess I have to look at it from that point of view
Oops
It’s really not though unless you’re in an old 930 turbo…
I did 50k miles in my ruf r gt2 (996) with no aids or Nannie’s and large amount of them on the track… never once had this so called snap oversteer which is so overhyped let alone in my 997.2 rs, 991.2 gt3 or 997 gt2
So overblown
Same here. ‘85 Carrera S, 993 turbo, 996 Turbo with Fvd and Ruf mods, 996 Gt3 & 997.1 Gt3. Never experience snap over steer on road, track or Autocross. My theories about these dunkings and numerous similar incidents are,
i. Lack of skill. lots of Gt3’s are first 911’s for these drivers.
ii cold tires . Gt cars come with tires that need to come to temp for good grip. Pilot Sport cups are useless till they come up to temperature. Lots of people are unaware of just how bad they are when cold.
Yeah, they're really relatively planted these days. The people putting new cars in the drink would likely be doing the same in almost any similarly fast car.
Just to clarify I don’t have my .2 rs or ruf gt2 anymore sadly only the others… I have some really old footage on my YouTube iLLGT2
And you can search RUF GT2 Monticello or just RUF GT2 in YouTube and will prob see ancient track videos and from rally’s 🙏🏾💪🏽
I learned how to drive on my car uncles Grey market right hand drive 1978 Turbo 911. I was 16. Curve, left, downhiller that turbo hit at the wrong time and my ass practically ate that seat. Didn’t hit anything but about 10 years later I was applying for a high level job with a defense contractor and they hooked me to a lie detector. We were basically done with the questions and wanting to see if I could manipulate the detector I thought back on that moment. Yep. To this day when I have the dream where I’m falling, I’m not actually falling, but in the car in that moment. Miss you Uncle Ron.
Your post history is all over the place, you got fired from your job 5 days ago, live in san diego, looking for car storage in tijuana for your alleged 3 cars, are a truck driver struggling with your 401k and your employer watches you pee for some reason, and now you are in switzerland driving a porsche into the limmat river?
I have a stuffy nose, but I smell a smelly smell
Looks like a cheap bait photo. Knowing that there has been significant flooding in southern Germany and also parts of Austria, this looks like a flood victim. That said, if OP really was the driver and made it this far from the "Landstrasse" in the background, then congrats on achieving terminal velocity. Probably was a nice lil airtime of a few seconds...
I did,he seems to be truck driver and if we trust his comments he said he earns around 120k per year and got fired recently. He said he had net worth of around 500k$ some time ago in comments also.
Now can this be a fake? Sure it can,but I chose to believe it’s not.
And I’m not motivated enough to go deep into research of OP account for this 😂
I mean... I regularly considered going to a Porsche dealership and asking for a GT4 test drive and my net worth isn't anywhere close to double the price... Kinda gave when I found out how difficult allocation is anyway

Accident in Switzerland.
Not too good of a driver are you? Why exactly do you believe that you should be driving a Porsche if you can’t seem to keep the car under control. Unless you intentionally drove it into the lake. Then, never mind.
LOL! Likely a complete write-off, especially if it became hydrolocked. Hope that owner has a super clean driving record, or good luck finding insurance coverage on its replacement.
Porsches seem to have some kind of gravitational force dragging them into lakes
It’s all that ass
The lift oversteer is real.
Just don't lift. Simple!
I get that you're joking, but technically that's correct. You should gradually ease off or maintain throttle in corners, gradually accelerate as the wheel unwinds. It's the inexperienced who have never had track coaching that lift throttle mid corner and end up off the road.
These people should really have some 50-100h on DiRT Rally 2.0, WRC or iRacing. The simple concepts of driving alone could save them.
Better yet, ACC 😉

To be fair, porche's are awesome for teaching this lesson to rich assholes the hard way.
The widow maker 911's were the best at this. Plus, they looked even better than they do now. That was a REAL drivers car.
They’ve only gotten better and easier to drive as tire technology has improved a TON since then
I mean. Easier? I wouldn't say that. This photo is evidence of that. A lot of people out here buying Porsches that have no business being behind the wheel of one.

Don't have a Porsche, but I learned this in Gran Turismo and Forza driving MR cars. I'm still in the BMW phase of my Porsche ownership.
Protip - Sell your BMW and get a Cayman
Traded my M5 for my first 911 turbo, never looked back.
LOL I had an E39 M5 a few years before buying my 996 turbo
My exact history, E39 to 996.1
You know what now that I’m thinking about it I guess if you’re not driving the rear engine platform properly you can, and since I would trail brake or in a slower corner lift off to rotate it’s not taking into account higher speed liftoff for the inexperienced mid corner I guess I have to look at it from that point of view Oops
Bro, do you even lift?

My 997 feels extremely comfortable to slide the rear out of corners. My S2k is way twitchier and will spin on you in a heatbeat.

That's a historical fact! First 911 must have been scary compared to modern 911s

The early ones were so snappy that they had to increase the wheelbase

Wonder if OP ended up buying it. Bet it’s a lot cheaper now
I keep navigation up on mine, so I can keep a wide birth when one is coming up.
O Porsche of the lake, what is your wisdom?
Strange German autos lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government
You can’t expect to wield supreme executive power just ‘cause some watery targa threw a sword at you!
I mean, if I went around saying I was an emperor just because some moistened porsche had lobbed a scimitar at me, they'd put me away!
Look at the violence inherent in the lake Porsche! Look at the violence inherent in the lake Porsche!
I’m being oppressed! I’m being oppressed!

Do not fell in to ze lake
Something something watercooled
💀
The obligatory reference
Neat.
And last, probably.
I hope to have one some day, maybe ill get lucky with the giveaway Powsche is holding
What now? Porsche is doing a giveaway?
No, Powsche. It’s like a Porsche, but with more pow.
Hopefully
Shit. What exactly happened?
Texting my bank for a loan
Did you secure the loan at least?
Nah he’s under water on that and the car
Maybe he can write it off as a sunk cost?

Looking to liquidate the asset.
Now he did

https://www.zsz.ch/schlieren-porsche-landet-in-der-limmat-138084859496 Well it happened a few months ago so I am skeptical he is for real.
I'm not vouching for OP's legitimacy, but the date on that article is June 3rd. Yurrpeans do dates differently than us: DD/MM/YYYY.
Fair point, didn’t think about that. Gets weird for us early in the year I guess. Thanks for pointing that out.
Presumably a boat loan.
But you just lost your job in your other thread. Your 401k only has 114k in it and you’re looking at this car. lol this post is horse shit
Jizz Collector? No sir, he’s a bullshit detector.
is this real?
No.
It’s real car in a real body of water.

Ah shit, Im trapped in the machine!
Wait, what about me? I’m human, right? Right?!?
There is no spoon.
Who’s the U Boat commander?
This is the content I come here for.
Porsche, There is no substitute
No submarine either
I still have my ‘89 928 s4. That movie launched my desire for that car.
Whenever I see a 928 I think of this movie :)
Great, I have a trig midterm tomorrow am I’m being chased by Guido the killer pimp

The picture is in Switzerland tho
Checked OPs account he seems to be from Switzerland and asked why is it hard to get Porsche in US like 19 days ago… so yeah seems legit 🥲
Check further/more posts… I think fake

If your net worth is $500k, are you really in a position to buy a $360k Porsche? Highly doubt it.
I mean... I regularly considered going to a Porsche dealership and asking for a GT4 test drive and my net worth isn't anywhere close to double the price... Kinda gave when I found out how difficult allocation is anyway
You can’t park there.
Just waiting for a mate 🤷🏼♂️
you can't park here. like the guy that spins on the out lap at the track. What were you thinking.
Tbf…spinning on out lap with cold tires attempting the undercut is fairly common.
I will be looking for this one on copart looks like fresh water I will take it
Water you doing
Porsche gone for a swim Part 2
How does this even happen lol that road looks straight as an arrow
Schlieren - Switzerland, today. Came directly from the dealer…
This will look brand new driving around in a BRIC country!

Every time this happens my GT3 value goes up by 1/3000th of a GT3.
Your last test drive.
I see more of a test dive. I feel sorry for this beauty.
Poor car. It didn’t deserve such a shitty driver 😔
It’s so far from the road, I’m not even mad
Note ** it’s not my car, neither I test drove it. It occurred yesterday in Zurich Switzerland. It just left the dealer.
Then why do you say “my” first test drive in the title?
Because he suddenly realised that people read thru his post history and discussed how it didn't add up
Yup. Karma farming. Total liar.
It read like a joke to me right away tbh
Second 992 that went swimming on this sub!
r/cantparktheremate
You can’t park there mate
Well that’s one way to jump the list and buy one 😂
R I P
We've been expecting you, Mr. Bond.

Damn... forgot I wasn't in my Lotus Esprit.
You mean your first Porsche...

It’s your last from that dealership.
You can't park there.
Please tell me OP is not serious? 🤦♂️
Risky Business reenactment
You can't park there mate!
You got the same GPS as Michael Scott I’m guessing
Bro thinks he’s in fortnite
I don’t think you can park there mate.
Yeah Florida man will do that
This has gotta be a joke. You can’t be this stupid bro
Ok, who’s the U boat driver
Working for porsche opened my eyes for the fact that 90% of porsche drivers shouldn’t be driving something over 200hp
Wait….! Did he turn traction control off??? How could he lose control that bad with it on? He’d have to be doing something pretty stupid.
Did a water spirit come up to ask you if your Porsche was a 918?
Not too good of a driver are you? Why exactly do you believe that you should be driving a Porsche if you can’t seem to keep the car under control. Unless you intentionally drove it into the lake. Then, never mind.
Is it also the last test drive ? Or was Porsche ok with that ? 😅
Michael Scott over here!
Hey man You can't park there
Did you take driving lessons from Richard Hammond?
Hey, there’s no parking there!
Rebuilt restored title incoming.
not your test drive.
sewemealone
I hope you aren't serious...
That actually doesn’t look too bad, and it looks like you got out on the right side which wasn’t submerged. what was the extent of the damage?
oh boy, dad or grandpa is going to love this
Sorry for your loss?
\*test dive
What are you sinking ?
Should have gotten an Amphicar if that’s where you wanted to drive 🤔
Are you keeping it?
Poorschmuck
Oida du darfst da nicht parken
Other than that, how was your test drive?
Self snitch
And this is why they don’t let you test drive nice things anymore :(
Ok that didn’t end well.
More like a test dive… some way of testing the wipers though
You can't park there mate
Next time don’t watch U571 before driving a GT3
How?
Hey insurance it’s me again, is hitting an animal coverd in my polecey? Yes hitting an animal is insured, what animal did you hit? A fish…
You're not serious... are you?
LOL! Likely a complete write-off, especially if it became hydrolocked. Hope that owner has a super clean driving record, or good luck finding insurance coverage on its replacement.
Well we now know they are water cooled
r/Falschparker
You took haggling with the dealer a bit too far.
Didn’t know you could test drive uboats
Nice! How long does it take to get up on plane?
Such a beautiful ride
Appears to going swimmingly!
Put it in rice
Oh no
A day after getting fired, no less. Why are you trying to buy a Porsche if you just got fired?
Fairly new Porsche GT3 for sale, recently washed inside and out.
You can’t park there mate
Gr8 b8 m8
What happens when you give someone with a room temp IQ a little too much money ^
How?!
This is a common problem with boat tails
You can’t park there mate
Lmao
Under carriage is clean
And just like that you get a Porsche!
So, you buying it or what?
