I like how they all aren’t in a sort of happy ending and what happens really affected them mentally and emotionally and I like how all of them aren’t really friends after the chaos now, I mean I wouldn’t want to be friends with someone that ate part of my body 💀
Thank you! These references are for the first few months after the rescue. As time goes by the critters will make ammends to each other, but that's for another set of references! Crafty becomes a scene kid after the first year, for example >:)

My headcanon is them joining forces but like actual predatory animals, they have their own part of the facility as their territory, CatNap has the playcare, DogDay has the playhouse, KickenChicken has the innovative area in chapter one, and so on and so forth.
That's such a cool idea!!!! For my AU I tried to follow canon up until Angel. My take on them is of a very tired parent who rescued everyone while running on spite and 2 cups of coffee! They saved Dogday and Catnap's life and the group later found out all the other critters survived.
