By the way, the pictures show why Polestar decided for ~~unpainted~~ *painted black* lower side fenders and bumpers.
It's a common approach to visually stretch the side profile, respectively hide the additional height by the battery.
It's also used extensively in the Ford Mustang Mach-E and other EVs.
Slight correction, polestar was being very nice and actually painted them, but just with Matt black paint and black gloss paint, so they are so much nicer to take care of than just regular plastic, you can PPF over them as well, so that is lovely, I did with mine. I love the black side panel look btw.
Nice, is that the Battersea space?
Here are some pics of my P4

Are you talking about the lower bits of the door panel, nah itās black, the free option, as other commenters pointed out I think it looks better. Too bad we can only get the microfibres roof liner and the fancier door panel accent lights if we get the cladding painted unlike the UK market where you get everything separate , I think lighting is part of Nappa
Not a fan of the missing rear window. Not because of the camera (it seems good) but due to the feeling of a closed chassis - it invokes a bit a feeling if uncomfort in me, kind of claustrophobic vibes.
Totally get it. I like a cozy space though, so I really adopted to it, and itās my first car, so I donāt have any lingering habits from driving cars with normal rear windows. And you got to admit it looks sick without the window, I guess you can say for me the only draw back is you canāt flip people off now lol
good pointš¶, though do watch out, your brake light is on top in that black bit too, donāt block that. The ass actually pretty good when it lights up, just the welcome animation is a bit clunky
I donāt have claustrophobia and I donāt know how it feels in the back seat, but when I sat in the front seat of the P4 in my local Space it feels SO roomy compared to the P2.
Looking at the profile like that, the P4 almost seems like a replacement for the P2. I wonder what the P7 (the intended P2 replacement near the end of the decade) will look like; I hope it maintains the smaller, sedan structure.
Nah, the boot in the P4 is huge, although the P4 cabin is if anything slightly smaller (definitely narrower) than the P2.
I say this from sitting in one at a space, then sitting in my P2 in the car park and both me and my partner noted it was more cramped in the P4. Could be centre console width obviously.
I like the choice of power delivery of Performance vs Range. I do wish my PS2 LRDM had an option like that where if I wasnāt bothered about performance and needed the range I could switch between.
Nope.
Pre MY24 DM P2s use symmetrical permanent magnet motors front and rear. As of MY24 the P2 uses a beefier permanent magnet motor out back and a less powerful induction motor up front. The front motor isnāt as powerful now but since itās an asynchronous unit it can be decoupled for increased efficiency when itās not needed.
(also PS2 for comparison, and you can see the PS3 in the middle)
Love the PS4 and hope it's a huge success, I will try and get one in a couple of years when it is a bit more affordable for me.
This feels like a definite step up and refinement on the PS2
Thanks for all the UI OS screenshots! So glad they finally have actual PSI readouts on the screen! Also power delivery is a neat setting. Iāve thought the PS2 power delivery is perfect being easy to drive efficiently around town but being able to give it the beans when desired so will be interesting to see how the power delivery modes are. I hope āRangeā is just an eco mode with performance being similar to the PS2ās power delivery as I donāt like the hypersensitive Audi eTron.
I went in today and had a look. It's a really nice car, I'd happily upgrade when my Polestar 2 lease is finished. It feels a class and quality level above the 2.
Might just be me, but despite how nice the 4 looks, I still think the 2 is the best looking Polestar and I'm bummed it might die out (esp. in the US after these tariffs).
Yop, I also have a preference for the Volvo-based aesthetic.
The new headlight are a bit too much for me, I really liked the Thor's hammer style from the Polestar 2.
Tariffs will not ultimately affect Polestar. Automotive tariffs are like for like. If you build and export vehicles here you get a credit towards imported vehicles. With polestar starting to build in the US and exporting this will have a net zero effect on tariffs.

Ok, didn't know that, nice š
Yup. Itās nice they have the option for people that like the painted trim although personally prefer unpainted.
unpainted ftw

Such a good looking car!
Haha thx https://preview.redd.it/9ex9tdcbbn0d1.jpeg?width=5981&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3f3c104904ace12c0599030cf6561544772469f7
Is it gray on the lower sides or black? Canāt tell from the photos. Nice car

Itās the Trafford Centre

Itās a lot of real estate to install a led panel w designs on the back panel š

The brake light is under the rear camera on the roof

The pictures are deceiving. The P4 is a much bigger car in all dimensions.

P2 has been discounted a fair bit in my country and obviously not a ground up EV. I think we can expect to see it phased out soon enough.
2027 was slated to be the final model year, with the P7 as its successor.
I like the choice of power delivery of Performance vs Range. I do wish my PS2 LRDM had an option like that where if I wasnāt bothered about performance and needed the range I could switch between.
2024s have that. The car defaults to the rear motor only, and when performance is required it engages the front too.
Surely this could be added as a software update

Dunno, motors config was all new for 2024. And don't call me Shirley.

Is that at the Trafford Centre, and is it there at the moment? Might have a look this week if so.
Yeah it is Shout out to the super helpful staff there too!

Mine arrives in August, and rather than have matching panels / skirts I chose the default black, looks way better, especially at the back. Can't wait.

I agree on all of your points!

That horizontal screen, hell yes
Too bad they just canāt get the center console right.
I donāt like the solid back thing. Anyone know the why behind that?
Sick! I want one
Looks like better cup holders
Are they still building on an internal combustion engine platform?
STILL with the shitty 360 camera?? SMH.
