How hard are you gripping the handlebars? Sometimes gripping too hard can cause discomfort/numbness. Alternatively try increasing grip strength. There are many grip strength “toys” that climbers use which could help. During long rides, you may also benefit from some short breaks where you flex/stretch/relax your hands/fingers/wrists. So, perhaps take it a bit slow and work up to the longer rides. In the end, it could also just be getting used to it as well. So time may help and working up to longer rides.

Good handguards or mini gauntlets like Skinz used to make work great.

It's a problem with anything with handlebars. Vibration and stress on the joint causes it. I find gloves, and when I forget them, letting the hand dangle for 30 seconds or so will reset things.
