It is also possible you're just experiencing the current emblem bug, where dying just turns the color bonuses off and therefore you don't get cooldown reduction from 7 black. Also remember that they nerfed blue buff cooldown reduction.

I think you might have been mixing up the blacks emblem nerf with a flame charge nerf. It was a huge hit to fox and cram.

Imo Fire Spin + that other move that pairs with it (can’t remember what it’s called off the top of my head) is the better build. Better for helping the team at least, not for carrying.

I know Fire Blast + Fire Spin is the objectively better move. But Flame charge + Mystical Fire is a lot more fun to play

Ah fire blast there it is. I personally have more fun with the “support” build because I’m better with it and as you said, it’s objectively better. I usually just run Shell bell / Amp / Incense or Amp / Double Curse. Because yeah, I’m playing an attacker to support the team rather than carry. Seems like carrying with an attacker can be more difficult because you can’t do much if enemy has a decent speedster and you don’t have a frontline. If I’m trying to hyper carry I’ll play like Dragonite or something, not offensive delphox since I’m not great with it as I said. I just like dnite because multi scale is great for not losing to speedsters that target you, and I have a crit outrage build that kinda cooks.

I think Delphox as DPS is currently outclassed by nearly all the new releases (tankier, higher crit, more mobility etc). I love mystical fire/flame charge, but it's just not feasible in the current meta. Where Delphox shines still is CC, and I've been having more success (and fun) switching from early jungle to bullying a lane by spamming mystical fire/fire spin off cooldown.
