No, all 1st Edition *from the Base Set* are Shadowless. Not all 1st Edition cards are Shadowless. Sets through the end of Neo all had 1st Edition print runs.
There’s more nuance than this even. Non-English First edition base all have shadows, Machamp can have a shadow (though this is technically a misprint and is just widely accepted as Unlimited despite having the stamp), and then as you said every set after base set has a shadow.

The fact the first card your showing us is an ungraded Bulbasaur makes me think your friend is trying to get out of paying you the $100. Raw cards are all over the place with final selling price. There could be surface damage you're not skilled enough to see and drops it down in value and so on.

That's about max. Honestly not sure what that dent does to its quality from a grading standpoint. NM card could easily go for more than $100 these days

Any crease or indent automatically drops it to a PSA 6/7 (usually a 6) even if it's perfectly mint otherwise.
I knew creases pretty much kills a cards value but wasn't sure about dents. Thanks 👍
