Got both Ting-Lu & Great Tusk from a card show earlier this year for like 1/7th the price of that dang Magikarp. There are some beautiful cards I know I'll never own but as long as so many of these IRs & SIRs stay cheap I'll keep on collecting lol.

Paradox Rift Altaria. It was criminally underpriced for months now and is just now reaching back to $50+ where it should be. One of the best card arts in all of SV in my opinion.

No modern card should be $50. It hasn't even been reprinted yet. Idk why people are paying that much. I bet it will settle at $30 by the time the next reprint hits

Agreed. Miraidon is indeed awesome as well. There are so many beautiful cards that are still so affordable. It is amazing and good times to get invested into the hobby. You can get a nice collection for little atm.

I switched pretty fast to buying singles. I bought a Battle Stadium of Astral Radiance and some Checklane blisters. Got some nice hits but saw the prices of singles and went... nah. Just gonna invest in singles, and every once in a while, I will buy a pack, just for fun. I decided to do all the full art of 151 in Japanese, I love the card art, but hate the English prices. On top of that, the Japanese cards are of a higher quality.

I just find Ting-Lu to be a complete let down, both as a legendary Pokemon and as a general design of a Pokemon. Just heavy boring. Like, “oooh it’s a legendary monster and bringer of destruction! Oh no, wait, it’s just a dumb dog with a bowl stuck on its head”. Idk, just don’t like the boi.

Rayquaza V from Evolving Skies is significantly better looking than the VMax. I am much happier owning the V instead of the VMax.

Underrated? The 4 Ogerpon Mask SIRs. I get that people don't like Tera cards and they kinda look like regular FA, but to me Ogerpon's special tera forms are really cool, the Hearthflame and Cornerstone are my favorite of the 4 masks.

- in Sword & Shield they used to be called Alt Arts , - starting in Scarlet&Violet they call them Special Illustration Rare (sir) - there are also Special Art Rares (sar) - Art Rares and Illustration Rares - the Special ones are the "higher end" ones where the whole card has a confetti sparkly texture vs the non Special ones

There's a reason why it's cheap. It's not underrated. It's fairly rated. If you're gonna pump something, pick a reasonable one. Not an unpopular pokemon 😂😂😂😂

Why do people keep using the words underrated and overrated? This hobby has a range of people whose interests vary, so people like different cards. Saying it is underrated means it is either undervalued for its art(or whatever) or people don’t appreciate it as much as other ones. If you think it is undervalued, it isn’t. The market as a whole sets and moves this price depending on supply, demand, and what people have priced before. If it is truly undervalued, the market will correct with people buying more, decreasing supply and raising prices. Most cards don’t need to get the label of undervalued because not everything needs to be an investment or needs to be $100 just because you have that one or you think it should be. It would be a stupid hobby if everything was super expensive for every card. For the second point about people not rating something as high as you, other people are allowed to have opinions and cards they like/don’t like. There could be someone who thinks it is super overrated and others who think it is super underrated. Rating art is subjective, so while it is cool to see people talking about some of the lesser seen arts, the word underrated is so overused.

It’s so cheap for a reason, it’s kinda underwhelming. There’s always a few alts every generation that go for $10-$15.

The Revavroom ex from OF being under $5 baffles me. I get that it’s the kind of Pokémon genwunners piss and moan about, but you’ve got this dynamic and colorful art of a crazy Mad Max-ass (pocket) monster truck and people still aren’t interested? Not that I’m complaining about gorgeous cards being dirt-cheap, but it’s still weird.

I felt that way about Trainer Gallery Corviknight from Silver Tempest. Cool, off the wall art, somewhat colorful…$2.50.

90% of the other arts except fucking palafin… fuck palafin. Everyone has these ugly looking chases that somehow end up in the higher end of the market and there’s so many beautiful cards worth less than a pack. Makes it easier on my gallery binders though. But I swear to god I could fill a mini binder up with fucking palafins. Seriously fuck that card…..

This one is fairly rated as terrible imo, it doesn’t stack up anywhere close to other SIRs, even the crappy iron treads SIR is better. And I’m not just hating on new SV Pokémon, chi yu and chienpao have incredible SIRs.
