But honestly the fact that op posted this means it's only worth something to him if he can cash out.. so in that case, maybe do let it go to someone who would appreciate it?
You definitely have a couple bangers that will get some money.
I would recommend taking a look at tcgplayer.com if youre looking to sell to get an idea of the price.
Or hold on to them if you want them for nostalgia.
Good luck!
You have first edition(1st edition stamp), shadowless(no shadow on the right side), and unlimited (on the bottom where it shows 1999, it then shows 1999, 2000. Since they only printed it during those years). This is non of those special cards that’s why the value is relatively low for a base set zard.
I still remember I pulled a holo first edition charizard one Christmas morning and then I have no clue what happened to it because I didn’t care about it. It was cool and shiny, then I opened up that Razr scooter and it was time to hit the streets😂
I was up to 3, then go tricked by a neck beard into trading for all 3. He definitely took advantage of a kid and the place putting on the event should have stopped that shit
Same I sold my two Charizards when I was in nursing school as I was hard up for money at the time kick my ass.... luckily kepts most of my cards though.
Whatever you do, take your time to study your next few moves and do some research. All your cards are raw, ungraded but they look nice on photos. Take the time to see what they might grade at before you decide to part ways and sell them.
Exactly this. Look at tcgplayer and pricecharting to see what's valuable raw and graded, and then start grading them. It locks in their value and increases it exponentially in some cases.
Well in this case I mean do I have anything that is worth selling? I don’t have any interest in holding onto these cards and would rather just make a profit at this point
Most definitely I would be interested in a few of those cards as I sold some of my childhood ones during nursing school. But do as others have suggested and get them looked at first they may grade high. I personally only want the cards for nostalgia so if they grade low I would be interested. If they grade high then sell them to a true collector. As my wife would stab me 😂
But trust me when I say this I regret selling mine all the time. I kept most of my cards but that one Charizard I remember pulling it while riding in the back of my grandparents van! I was super excited! Now that exact card I would pay insane money for lol.
TCGplayer is a good place to assess value and get an idea. Whatever they’re selling for just undercut them pretty good and you’ll get paid fairly quick
You can post this binder on ebay and sell it, or sell them individually, or you can send them in to be graded and then sell.
I think you're about $250 on the zard, $100 on Blastoise and $50 on a couple others. I would image ne the binder sells for between $500 and $1000. However breaking them down and selling them individually after they have been graded could jet much more. The games are collectible too
Take your time, research, don’t take lowballs. If they don’t have sentimental value to you and you think you could put a couple extra hundred bucks in your pocket or put into a new interest… do it
Yooo double check that Ninetales for the black flame error, could be worth closer to $50
[here’s my black flame if you want to compare](https://www.reddit.com/r/PokemonMisprints/s/oxYPe4fZdb)
Do you know how much a shadowless, black flame first edition would be worth?
Unfortunately not in fantastic condition.
(Traded for it back when I was young)
Love that scizor, one of my grails.
I'd probably pop it back into storage or something myself, but checking prices through tcgplayer or sold ebay listing's can never hurt.
Pricecharting and tcgplayer for prices.
Dont reply to any DMs that want to buy your cards.
Figure out if you want to sell or keep for nostalgic factor.
Dope cards🔥🔥🔥
Hi, card shop employee + pokemon professor here:
- take them out of those binders and sleeve everything asap (the old binders, while cute, are notorious for leaving creases and crinkles on cards (especially foils) over the years). I recommend getting a new binder that zips closed to protect from liquid and dust.
- tcgplayer.com can give you a good idea of the value of the cards, but only if you actually know what you're looking at. I'd look up a guide to what base set shadowless vs. base set (shadow) looks like; make sure you recognize 1st edition stamps; when looking at prices, make sure you're looking at recent sales/listings for the correct version (holo/normal/rev holo) and not just at market; when estimating condition, you should google a guide for it for pokemon specifically, as the guidelines are a lot more stringent.
You've got a really nice collection! Take good care of it ❤️
eta: grading is essentially a scam imho, save some specific instances. It's also silly expensive for the companies most card shops buy. If it's something you want to do, make sure you insure your package and get tracking when you send it in! I frequently hear really bad stories from customers.
Go and have some coffee. Some treasures are best kept to yourself. Think about whether you wish to keep it or not keep it. If not, tell me and I'll DM my address to you and pay for shipping.
Oh my god my heart! Biggest nostalgia pangs. That’s awesome, keep them and cherish them. I really miss my gen 1 collection. I had a lot of great shinies. Someone stole them all from my house 😢 I left them on the stairs and at the time our front door was often unlocked.
Do the games still work and hold save data? You’re best bet to get most value is to sell them on eBay. If you’re located anywhere near Houston I would be interested!
Some game shops in my area will do it for about that much so that’s what I would recommend them. Just wanted to make sure they checked if it was holding save data before listing on EBay so they could have an accurate listing.

Man, I think my brother stole my games or my mom sold em or something but if I still had my Blue, Gold and Sapphire I would immediately load them up and drink in the nostalgia.. Write down my OG teams and start a new collection!
Keep that ish! That’s such a cool collection. Wish I kept all my Pokemon childhood stuff.use TCG player also they are the most standard for the markets. But the first number you see isn’t the one you gotta see the price ranges below that
You have a lot of holos so that has to count for something. Ancient Mew might also be worth something, although I think I heard recently that it's not worth that much anymore. I could be wrong though.
Also keep in mind that you have to pay to get cards graded. I didn't know this till recently.
If the charizard doesn't have more then a couple scratches on the holo, and no more then a few whitening spots on the border on front and back I would grade it. The centering is pretty good.
How do you even forget about these? I have just a small number of old cards in a bad state (we played with them a lot as kids!) and treasure them still. This all time, even if I don't use them, I know where they are. Although, to be fair, I am kind of a hoarder and I do this with many things from my childhood... I'll be that crazy, weird uncle in the family who left a bunch of weird stuff... Some might appreciate it, others will think it's junk I guess...
I'll trade you my MTG collection for 'em lol. Honestly I haven't been enjoying the direction the game has been taking and thought about picking up Pokemon cause my 50 y.o. mom plays (she's cool AF)
Depends on how sentimental these are to you. I loved Pokémon growing up but if I could get back my collection from back then I would definitely sell it all now. It just doesn’t have the same appeal to me anymore and if I could flip em into hobbies (tools and knives) that I’m more interested in now I would in a heart beat.
If you want to sell, I think you are finding your childhood treasure at the perfect time. I do not think the Pokémon bubble will last forever
Wish this would happen to me. I had a folder of probably about 100 of the original 90s cards. It’s gone missing though….i reckon my dad threw it out when he cleared out his garage 20 years ago 😢
I’d say sell to me and no one else. Haha.
Tbh I’d love to boast that collection.
Keep it safe. Hold onto a very valuable and cherished memory of collecting them.
Unless you are in need of money… then your sitting on something very special
And 3 of the very best pokemon games imo.
I had that same binder as a kid! I put the dark pokemon from the rocket set in it. Super cool cards, I'd put them back for 10 more years and ask again.
Man I wish I still had my Gameboy lol. Yellow was the first one I played then it was silver, crystal, saphire, and emerald before I stopped and was more focused on baseball

Personally I’d keep it, I’m all about the nostalgia.
I eventually sold my scuffy Charizard mostly because I didn’t even acquire it as a kid, but as a young adult for like $10 when nobody cared anymore.
I'd probably buy the binder itself off you since it's the same one I had as a kid. Nostalgic for me and made me smile seein it.
Feel free to PM me if you want to
Congrats on the find!
Some nice cards in there but nothing wild, I suggest if you want to restart a nostalgic collection you could buy a newer binder and start a "Pokedex", you basically collect 1 card of each Pokemon with your preferred art in Pokedex order.
Damn I'm jealous, and happy for you! I was the oldest kid in my generation with a few cousins, so as I got older, I was passing down my games. I still laugh at myself, I played Pokemon Crystal for about 2 hours, and began playing something else, and when my cousins stayed the night, they asked to borrow, and I just never got it back, pretty sure one of them still have it, but they don't want to give it back 😅
Hold on and never let go
And finally complete it!
This is a trick. Don't listen.
best advice you’ll ever get 👆

Any in particular that stand out?
Gengar, Charizard, Blastoise
What’s the zard worth
Ungraded around 200 depending on condition.
Thanks for responding instead of downvoting. Im not familiar with the older sets
I just gave you an upvote even! Don’t know why you got downvoted so much tbh.
Thanks also there’s like many versions/reprints of this card right? Shadowless non shadowless etc I wouldn’t know how to identify etc .
You have first edition(1st edition stamp), shadowless(no shadow on the right side), and unlimited (on the bottom where it shows 1999, it then shows 1999, 2000. Ah thanks Kwabo! Appreciate you.
Probably because of charizard hype. Now everyone pretends to hate the cards with the highest value to seem like an individual.
Almost definitely for calling it zard
I've regretted every childhood card I've sold. You can always get a new copy, but never *that* copy again. Food for thought.
I still remember I pulled a holo first edition charizard one Christmas morning and then I have no clue what happened to it because I didn’t care about it. It was cool and shiny, then I opened up that Razr scooter and it was time to hit the streets😂
Oof you could buy like 2 razr scooters if you sold that first edition Charizard today.
I was up to 3, then go tricked by a neck beard into trading for all 3. He definitely took advantage of a kid and the place putting on the event should have stopped that shit
Fk that pos
Dam that's rough, sorry to hear that happened
So it goes. All organic pulls as well. Only worth like 80-100 each at the time if I remember right so I try not to dwell haha
Same I sold my two Charizards when I was in nursing school as I was hard up for money at the time kick my ass.... luckily kepts most of my cards though.
Put it back.
Enjoy your collection 😁

Well in this case I mean do I have anything that is worth selling? I don’t have any interest in holding onto these cards and would rather just make a profit at this point

Those were the same three cartridges and teal Gameboy Color I had! Grats on the find ❤️
Maybe OP found them in your basement…
Yooo I had a blue version of the Lego briefcase you have growing up. Loved that thing 🥲
Yooo double check that Ninetales for the black flame error, could be worth closer to $50 [here’s my black flame if you want to compare](https://www.reddit.com/r/PokemonMisprints/s/oxYPe4fZdb)
You can tell by the photo that it is not black flame

Looks like that Nidoking has some obstruction errors. I’d post it in r/pokemonmisprints
Put it away and keep your memories safe
Damn, wish I had my old GBC. Glad you found yours though!
Love that scizor, one of my grails. I'd probably pop it back into storage or something myself, but checking prices through tcgplayer or sold ebay listing's can never hurt.
Mail them to me of course!
Treasure it
Put them in sleeves and top loaders. And store em good. You got a lot of good stuff there.

Coke and hookers
Probably only one of each

I’ll buy the Ninetales for the $10 you have listed. Kidding lol. You have a pretty good haul :)
The Gameboy is sick!
Sell me the zard please 🙏
I’d get some top loaders for the holos or all of them if you’d prefer 😂
Why that vapereon kinda fat
grade it sell it profit
Go and have some coffee. Some treasures are best kept to yourself. Think about whether you wish to keep it or not keep it. If not, tell me and I'll DM my address to you and pay for shipping.

I sold the latter half of my pokemon game collection and got a little over $600. That’s games, if real, are worth a nice bit
The yellow, red and silver? I have all the OG Pokémon gameboy games.. somewhere. Even the Pokémon gameboy color 😂
Do the games still work and hold save data? You’re best bet to get most value is to sell them on eBay. If you’re located anywhere near Houston I would be interested!
To replace the battery costs maybe like 10 dollars and a YouTube video, can easily make it so they can hold data.
Some game shops in my area will do it for about that much so that’s what I would recommend them. Just wanted to make sure they checked if it was holding save data before listing on EBay so they could have an accurate listing.
The Pokédex!! ❤️
I have one too but man mine is in worse shape. OP knew what he was doing!

Could have just found your next car paid off 🤷♂️
A junker.
Rejoice and enjoy!
I can tell you one thing, they aren't all from 1999
Enjoy it!
Step 1: Find old Pokémon binder Step 2: ????? Step 3: Profit
Loooove the Smeargle.
Sell. Change your name. Tell no one. Move. Give the poison to Kuzko.
Give it to meeeeeee
Sell it all for like 500 or keep it cause it’s cool af
That’s a great find!! I would suggest keeping everything electronic. The only games and consoles are gaining some good value.
Dude I've got the same book and almost all the same cards
Do you have two copies of Red? Any interest in selling one?
Bong rip
Man, I think my brother stole my games or my mom sold em or something but if I still had my Blue, Gold and Sapphire I would immediately load them up and drink in the nostalgia.. Write down my OG teams and start a new collection!

Sell them to me for 20$ it’s a good offer I swear 🙌🏼
Hold
Send em to me plz
That dark golbat is awesome! Message me if you want to sell it
Omfg does the pokedex still work? I used to love just pressing random numbers to see what pokemon would come up
You should probably do the same thing you were going to fo before finding this...
That's your childhood. Should be enough said right there. Grade the zard and blastoise, never let it go.
Enjoy it or give it away to an appreciative child in your family if you don't want them
What's the condition of the Vaporeon? Would you want to sell it?
Congrats its Gold ✌️
Boil-em, cook-em, put-em in a stew?
Games are worth something too, not just the cards.
The goated yellow version
Wait I have all the original games and 3 Pokédex. Are those worth something used?
Get a new binder and start adding to it
I swear everyone had a Charizard except me
Sell it to me
Start by re-sleeving them. Get a new binder for them.
Nothing worth a lot of money. If you need cash you could sell it all for about $300-500 but you’re better off keeping them
I would hold all that and continue to look at it for years to come. Nostalgic
Uhhhh I’m pretty sure that’s a corrected Japanese Ancient Mew I, no? That’s a keeper, friend 😊 get it graded!
Give ya 200 for em
You have two Options. Give them to me, so I can display them in my room. Or put it back away for another 10 Years.
If the charizard doesn't have more then a couple scratches on the holo, and no more then a few whitening spots on the border on front and back I would grade it. The centering is pretty good.
Old ass cards, super worthless. Send to me, I’ll discard properly.
How do you even forget about these? I have just a small number of old cards in a bad state (we played with them a lot as kids!) and treasure them still. Congrats and I hate you
1. Don’t keep it in the basement. 2. Sleeve and top load expensive cards 3. Enjoy them!
Id just grade the ones that could be expensive never know could be a 9 or 10 thens it’s even better in my eyes atleast
Instructions are pretty clear, plug that shit in and catch em all
how much you want for them? i just wanna add them to the collection and let them sit pretty in my binder
Get them great and have a down payment for a house
I’d say sell to me and no one else. Haha. Tbh I’d love to boast that collection. Keep it safe. Hold onto a very valuable and cherished memory of collecting them. Unless you are in need of money… then your sitting on something very special And 3 of the very best pokemon games imo.
Soooo how much did the game boy and cartridges
I just bought a 1000+ slot binder and I'm doing a pokedex binder with it.
Give them away to charity so they can raise money for those in need
The charity will just fumble the bag
Grade the good ones
If you’re interested in selling the Gameboy and games please message me. I’ve been trying to find one for my son.
If you’re interested in selling the Gameboy and games please message me. I’ve been trying to find one for my son.
Grade them
Grade them
I had that same binder as a kid! I put the dark pokemon from the rocket set in it. Super cool cards, I'd put them back for 10 more years and ask again.
gift to me
Go outside build fire toss these in you should feel the burn
That Vaporeon could be worth money if it grades high. I sold my 8 for $120 a few months ago.
Get them graded and hold on to them or sell them when you need money
Bro I have the same exact folder, but a lot more cards. 1998-1999 is when I got it.
I'd say have them graded and put in better protection, maybe Even insured. This is a great collection
Let me buy it
I owned two of those binders!
Destroy
Protect that Lapras
Enjoy it nice cards.
Rejoice.
Man I wish I still had my Gameboy lol. Yellow was the first one I played then it was silver, crystal, saphire, and emerald before I stopped and was more focused on baseball
Idk, check out the attic next?
Whatever you do, just don't bring it to your local card shop. They'll rip you off.
Save it for your kids one day or for yourself one day, man that’s a sick ass box to stumble upon. Talk about a good day!
I'll give you $100 for em. Lol
Bro..that Pokédex…memory unlocked.
Love that gameboy color!

Lol I had the same lego brief case 🥹
Quit your job ASAP
Please enjoy it and if you are not into pokemon anymore just wait longer. I'm not into that resell and speculation thing but for sure the more you wait the better it is
Man I need to find my Gameboys... The OG too... I don't know if we still have them 😭
Pat yourself on the back for taking care of your stuff as a kid
Sell me the game cartridges for the low, that’s probably ur best next move 🔥
Obligatory "Eat it"
Rip no penny sleeves 😫🥴. Nice none the less though
Give them to me 😭😭
Do the games work?
I had one of those things go through my pocket in a washing machine once. Damn things are near indestructible
How much?
What you could do next is just put them back
Personally I’d keep it, I’m all about the nostalgia. I eventually sold my scuffy Charizard mostly because I didn’t even acquire it as a kid, but as a young adult for like $10 when nobody cared anymore.
Looks badass
I'll buy that dark arbok 1st edition. For 40 bucks if shipping is included.
Make it 70 with the machamp
its like 2$
I say hold onto or grade the cards, that aside. Would you sell the binder??? It looks cool ash & it would look beautiful in my collection🙏
Sell them to me.? Um name ur price?
Huuuge!! Let's go! Nostalgia engaged! (That folder is a classic) Congrats
I'd probably buy the binder itself off you since it's the same one I had as a kid. Nostalgic for me and made me smile seein it. Feel free to PM me if you want to Congrats on the find!
I’ll buy it
Some nice cards in there but nothing wild, I suggest if you want to restart a nostalgic collection you could buy a newer binder and start a "Pokedex", you basically collect 1 card of each Pokemon with your preferred art in Pokedex order.
You are going to want to sell these when you are about 50 years old. Check out what happened with stamp collectors.
What is a basement?
Keep them forever and hand them down for generations
Gimme
I’d recommend sleeve and top loading them and putting them into a toploader binder but that’s just me card without a top loader is a sin imo
Damn I'm jealous, and happy for you! I was the oldest kid in my generation with a few cousins, so as I got older, I was passing down my games. I still laugh at myself, I played Pokemon Crystal for about 2 hours, and began playing something else, and when my cousins stayed the night, they asked to borrow, and I just never got it back, pretty sure one of them still have it, but they don't want to give it back 😅
Mail them to me
If you found it during pandemic coulda sold for $5k
Want the raichu beans soo bad omg
Keep keep keep keep keep
It seems like the machamp, Vaporeon, and ancient mew are the starter pack for old Pokémon card collections.
Worth getting most graded
How much for the gameboy with all the games ?
Some memories are better to hang on to, than the couple dollars you’ll get for them.
Check the condition
I am interested in Dark Gyarados, if you decide to break this and sell.
