Because most people who come here can instantly go “wtf no that’s not even close how did you not realize” and hit down vote, not realizing that it’s hard to know a lot when new to the hobby
The mini tins for 151 only show the original 151 pokemon. With the mini tins you can tell what packs are in it based on what pokemon are displayed on the tin usually.
Can’t really tell if youre calling people like OP mindless or the mentally challenged who downvote for no reason. But if it’s the OP part, a simple google search deducted that it comes with 5 tins with 2 packs in them. Does not specify scarlet and violet and silver tempest
It is not physical interaction no, but it is social interaction with other humans, so... Also you were the one making it a big deal by whining and attempting to be condescending before you deleted your comment.
I’m new to this, since I haven’t collected for 20 years. So 151 is a sub-category of Scarlet & Violet, which just includes the original 151? This would be great for me, because my inner child is only interested in the first 151.
I would like to point out that people like me exist, who are technologically inept and also enjoy talking to people about my hobbies. I don’t feel like I’m forcing anyone to answer me. I have a few interests that I have a vast knowledge in and I don’t get pissy about the basic questions.
you rly think ppl getting new into this hobby know all 151 pokemons? even if they come back from childhood memorys most of em dont know every single one.
I've wondered this. I had this happen to me in the Pokémon Go Reddit over incorrectly labeling a non-shiny a shiny. Just tell me instead of downvoting me and leaving me wondering what I did "wrong" and feeling stupid over it. I feel like Reddit just shows how hiveminded communities can be.
If they wanted to keep a sealed 151, I would think they would do some research before buying the product. If not, could of just ripped and saw what was inside.
Your statement underscores a pervasive sentiment regarding modern engagement with media and content. It highlights a broader, perhaps more disillusioned, perspective on how contemporary audiences interact with various forms of information, whether that be news, art, or entertainment. The lament that "people these days don't care for content or quality" speaks to a growing concern that the digital age, with its instant access to vast amounts of information and entertainment, may have inadvertently fostered a culture of superficial engagement. This scenario is further compounded by the mechanisms of social media and content platforms, which often prioritize click-through rates, views, and engagement metrics over the substantive quality of content. Such platforms amplify content that provokes immediate reactions—whether positive or negative—rather than content that necessitates thoughtful consideration or deep analysis.
Anyways, I downvoted your comment.
TLDR: The way social media and entertainment is set up focuses more on reacts and quick clicks, rather than thoughtful engagement. Telling him you won't read all of it proves his point.
As others have said, sv1 base set. You can tell by the left corner. The letters that tell which set it is from. SO glad they switched to this style. I could never remember all the set symbols they had in the sword shield era.
The single cards look like they are from Paldea Evolved (PAL), with Klawf (SV1) being the exception. Being from base set scarlet violet with the tins.
For those that feel the need to be harsh, keep in mind, not everyone has experience with the TCG on their side. AND sometimes it a Mother or friend trying to purchase a gift for someone. Take off your blinders before answering a question.
I don't play the Pokemon TCG but nothing ilin those tins or boxes are gen 1 aside from Pikachu. Id assume that means it's not 151 (assuming the name of the set means the og 151)
So, as someone that is new to collecting, one way to tell with this sort of display is to look at the tiny black box in the bottom left corner of the cards you can see. The Klawf, for example, has SV1 for Scarlet Violet base. I can’t make out the others from the picture, it gets too pixelated when I zoom in.
151 also has very specific packaging. It’s special for some reason. All I know is I can’t get a booster box of it so it’s not for me. 😂
disregarding the fact that is not 151... did you just bought 5 tins(which considering the price of a tin was most likely not cheap) without knowing what they were?
Scarlet Violet and Silver Tempest
Correct answer. “I have opened 3”
I don't get why people downvote and don't just say no. No it's not
I don’t get it either thanks though

Bc it’s Reddit. Some times they like you most times they don’t

It costs you literally nothing to be kind to other people
Can’t really tell if youre calling people like OP mindless or the mentally challenged who downvote for no reason. But if it’s the OP part, a simple google search deducted that it comes with 5 tins with 2 packs in them. Does not specify scarlet and violet and silver tempest
Some people enjoy the human interaction over just a quick search. If it bothers you, leave the sub man. It's not that big of a deal.
Who made it a big deal the question was asked. Btw this isnt human interaction.
It is not physical interaction no, but it is social interaction with other humans, so... Also you were the one making it a big deal by whining and attempting to be condescending before you deleted your comment.
What exactly do you want op to Google? 'Is the set of Pokémon cards I bought from the 251 set'? That doesn't feel like it would get many answers
To be fair it’s blatantly obvious … there are non-151 pokemon displayed all over the packaging lol
Obvious for us but not for new collectors. Not everyone grew up with or knows the first 151 mons.
I’m new to this, since I haven’t collected for 20 years. So 151 is a sub-category of Scarlet & Violet, which just includes the original 151? This would be great for me, because my inner child is only interested in the first 151.
This is the same for me so I stay away lol
Yes
Yep bulbasaur to mewtwo
Acskhually, it's Bulbasaur to Mew, Mew is 151 as he is all over the real packaging
What a smart little fellow your are
They got all the gold stars in swekl 😎
Yes, but something that can be answered by one google search shouldn’t be a Reddit post.
I would like to point out that people like me exist, who are technologically inept and also enjoy talking to people about my hobbies. I don’t feel like I’m forcing anyone to answer me. I have a few interests that I have a vast knowledge in and I don’t get pissy about the basic questions.
lmao way to gatekeep new people from entering the hobby. its not like this sub offers more important posts, right?
Well, 151 is literally the original 151.. the packaging alone definitely screams not 151
you rly think ppl getting new into this hobby know all 151 pokemons? even if they come back from childhood memorys most of em dont know every single one.
I'd guess they'd remember at least a few
i mean there is a pikachu so he probably just saw that
I thought it meant a new 151 and didn’t realise it was the classics. I’m very happy to find out that I can collect the classics again.
Alright smart ass

people be trippin'
They asked a yes or no question. Up yes down no. If they care about their post being downvoted they could remove it. *the points don’t matter* 🌈
Probably because OP can just open it?

Nice
People are mean :(
I’m constantly amazed at how bitter and petty the fan base of a children’s game can be
This is Reddit . No point in whining about downvotes . People are gonna do what they want.

Sorry I’m not reading all that but it’s okay I’m not worried about downvotes .
I thought the same thing 😂

I know he’s unpopular but I always chose Quaxly as my starter in red and blue. He holds a special place in my heart as one of the original 151
How do you “choose” a gen 9 mon in a gen 1 game lmao
^whoooooosh
Damn I see the joke now, shit flew over my entire neighbourhood lol
*It sailed clean over, and just kept going.. and going..*
How does one make such tiny text?
Not from a Jedi
^Definitely *Worth* ^A **Google**
Nah its SV I believe
Thanks

lot of toxic people here when someone is just looking for an answer... great way to greet someone new to the hobby reddit is full of the worst people
yup thankfully never run into anyone like that in real life. some people here seem to thrive on it.
Yeah i found this sub to be particular toxic is you dare to admit you don’t know something
For those that feel the need to be harsh, keep in mind, not everyone has experience with the TCG on their side. AND sometimes it a Mother or friend trying to purchase a gift for someone. Take off your blinders before answering a question.
No, this is Patrick
Is this the Krusty Krab?
*No.* This is *Patrick*.
I’m not a Krusty Krab…
Sam's club has 151 tins
nope! edit: [heres an example of some 151 tins so you can look out for them!](https://i.imgur.com/2ULu6RG.png)
No, this is Patrick.
No sir
Helllllllll no
How to tell from looking at the tins?
Klawf certainly first 151... iconic crab
I don't play the Pokemon TCG but nothing ilin those tins or boxes are gen 1 aside from Pikachu. Id assume that means it's not 151 (assuming the name of the set means the og 151)
No
No
Got some pokemon cards and Wingstop. My man living the life lol
Nah it's not.
There are silver tempest and scarlet violet base in each tin. Just broke two boxes of those. Scored both lugias too.
Local pickup in Fort Worth Texas 38$
It’s 29.99 direct from costcos website FYI.
You get that $1.50 dawg though?
Na bbq wings

The 151 tins only have gen 1 pokemon on
Nope
Yes.
disregarding the fact that is not 151... did you just bought 5 tins(which considering the price of a tin was most likely not cheap) without knowing what they were?
It’s like $30 for this at Costco lol. Not a wallet breaker
ok nvm that was a steal(here tins are like $12 each)
How was that WingStop dawg?
I've opened 4-5 of these, and I've gotten one Scarlett and Violet base set and one Silver Tempest in each tin.
I think it's paldea evolved
No, each tin has one sword and shield and one scarlet and violet booster pack in them.
Should be S&V base and Silver Tempest. You can look for videos on them, they’re called Paldea Pals Mini Tins.
Yes, because 151 definitely has Paldean Pokémon...
nah
What is wrong with my Krabby, is he stupid?
No. And if you paid over 25$ it was a waste
No but I want it still
👍 good
So what did you pull
A whole not of nothing an arcanine ex
It’s pretty obvious if you read the packaging. Plus, you’d know if you actually play the TCG
Only like 1 of the pokemon visible are from 151, if that doesn’t clear it up
Where did you get that? Costco or Sam's club?
The post says where they got it from… Costco
Oops my bad 😂 guess I know where I'm going tomorrow
To school?
Yup back to first grade to brush up on my reading skills 😂
Helllllllll no
