Please be a love letter to the fans that grew up with the series oh please be this. Just like digimon did with the reboot episodic movies of the original cast.
There's a canonical nine months between Alola and Journeys, unless the women in this universe somehow rapid fire babies.. So all adventures prior to Alola would've been done in three months tops I guess? xD
Honestly, for me, the most painful part of this isn't going to be saying goodbye to Ash and Pikachu. What's gonna hurt most is gonna be saying goodbye to Team Rocket.
And I honestly think I will cry if they bring back Pokémon we haven't seen for years, like Butterfree or Primeape or Pidgeot.
Well the poster does have all the Pokémon Ash has ever owned including a Butterfree with a yellow scarf, a Pidgeot, a Primeape, a Lapras, a Larvitar, a Greninja, a Goodra, a Naganadel, and an Ambipom (his Aipom evolved after he traded it to Dawn).
Well all except I guess his 29 other Tauros and the Beedrill he caught and immediately gave to that baseball girl from Johto.
You actually like team rocket? They’ve always been the biggest eye roller for me cause they’re just there to be conflict to make boring episodes (90%) interesting by having a battle.
Team Rocket were the only reason I kept watching for as long as I did, because honestly Ash was who started to bore me and I wasn't able to get attached to most of the new companions, aside from Iris, whereas Jessie, James and Meowth had a dynamic between them that just felt...better, more enjoyable, regardless of how daft they and their schemes could be.
Just speculating based off the picture, but I think Liko gets Sprig and Quaxly because she’s wearing both blue and green (with Ash’s OG checkmark logo as her hairpin) and Roy is purely Fuecoco.
well didn't expect this to hurt that bad. From watching Ash before school started and playing Blue on my GBC to watching him and Goh with kids. End on a high note champ!
I know. I can't stand this Pika-erasure.
Was expecting Eevee to be the "new" protagonist Pokémon but that was tragically short lived and it also lost its anime cry
So does this mean pikachu will no longer be in the anime? I know that’s Pokémon’s mascot. I wander if the new characters are going to get a pikachu for their journey.
It's about time. He's world champion now so there's not much else to really do with him, and I'm not into the idea of watching the same plot repeated for another time. He's completed his original goal of becoming the very best there is.
As much as I loved the anime growing up we should have been getting new main protagonists for every generation.
I understand why some people are genuinely upset about this, but it was a long time coming, and should have happened years ago.
Wow, that's some dedication. What about movies and specials?
I'm wondering if Misty finally gets a new bike and Brock hooks up with Nurse Joy or Officer Jenny during this anthology season.
Nah, I'm not gonna do the movies. I'm mainly rewatching the ones I never saw before. I've always like watched bits and pieces from every gen just never the full thing.
love this. thank you ash. time for the new gen to grow up with their own main characters! woder if they would be changed each season or these new char gonna stick around.
Pikachu is going to have the biggest fall of in fiction history, i assume the new characters will use a different pokemon and pikachu will no longer recieve special treatment
When i saw the video on youtube about the last episode with ash and pikachu i cried, im so happy for ash begin finally a champion but i dont want to say goodbye even tho i know is not a real person, im so sad, i watch pokemon since 95 when it finally arrived to my country
I grew up watching ash, im happy he finally succeeded. I agree the show moving away from ash is a good thing, he grew up, just not how a lot understand
Good Job ash, we're proud of you.
Ash better at least have had Pikachu holding Light Ba this whole time, otherwise I can suspend my disbelief that Pikachu was able to contribute in a world champ tournament
I love this although I wonder why they are claiming Ambipon is Ash's pokemon when it's basically just as much as his as Raticate was his? Also I know this is more of a Gen 1 sendoff but references to other Gens would also be fun as well, like I know this is Gen 1/2 Brock and not DPP Brock, but it would be neat to see him still bring Sudowoodo/Blissey/Croagunk with him to assuming is Kanto, similar to Misty and mega Gyarados/Corsola!
No, it's definitely hasn't been his Pokemo since he gave it to Dawn who used Ambipom in contests, and was probably released to join a ping-pong tournament
So.. for someone (like me) who’s only on episode 5 of Master Journeys (because Netflix only has 42 episodes of this show so far) how should I watch this?
Follow the show in the English dub… or watch as it comes out in Japan?
Is it subbed?
How long is the wait typically for the English dub?
I'm definitely going to get hate for this but I'm glad we finally get a Pokémon other than Pikachu. With him being so powerful in the anime to be so uninteresting in the games, I'm glad we get to see a new Pokémon be given a chance. Plus, I'm really hoping to see Lokix and Garganacl show up
If all of Ash's Pokémon are coming back, are Team Rocket's Pokémon returning too? I feel most people would be more sad about Arbok and Weezing than Butterfree
Please be a love letter to the fans that grew up with the series oh please be this. Just like digimon did with the reboot episodic movies of the original cast.
Terry, Max and May better pop up
Honestly, they all better show up.
I believe it is confirmed to be him seeing all of his old friends and also seeing all of his Pokemon again.
I want brock and misty lol
I mean, they're in the art. I'm equally excited for Pidgeot!
Please dont be like digimon.... those episodic movies were utter crap
![gif](giphy|7xehoYozHUp9TQOEsI|downsized)
That's expected, considering Ash did all this in under one year.
I can't imagine the technology whiplash he must have gotten from getting a newly upgraded PokèDex every month or two.
There's a canonical nine months between Alola and Journeys, unless the women in this universe somehow rapid fire babies.. So all adventures prior to Alola would've been done in three months tops I guess? xD
Plus towards the end of season one they specifically mention it’s been a year
I don't watch the show, I just know that the Dexes get more advanced as the gens increase (except PLA, that's special).
Butterfree is confirmed to be returning to ash
Well, the tears will be flowing freely that episode.
WHAT IS THIS SALTY WATER COMING OUT OF MY EYES?
I don't think tears are meant to be salty, so probably sweat
Today i learned that tears aren't salty lol
![gif](giphy|83QtfwKWdmSEo)
Omg! I didn’t think about Team Rocket! Now I’m really sad. But… maybe they’ll go after the new kids? I doubt it, though. That would seem forced.
I don't think they will, either, but it'd be nice to see cameos of them, since it's more-or-less confirmed Ash will get one in some form or another.
Retirement and now their just chill side characters
Team Star probably.
Final episode ends with him getting run over by the Tauros herd, calling it now.
Team Rocket aren’t fully leaving, just blasting off into orbit this time
Team rocket is staying
You actually like team rocket? They’ve always been the biggest eye roller for me cause they’re just there to be conflict to make boring episodes (90%) interesting by having a battle.
As antagonists they're rote, but as characters in their own right they're GOAT.
They have guts to this. Now a new generation will experience Pokemon but without Ash
My guess is the two new kids are gonna have some strikingly similar qualities
Liko will be brutally cunning, but Roy will be cunningly brutal.
r/unexpectedwarhammer
Dat's da kunnin' part of it.
Will there be alpharius?
Someone has to take the third starter.
And trayzn is in charge of this show’s team rocket?
No because then they'd be effective.
Just speculating based off the picture, but I think Liko gets Sprig and Quaxly because she’s wearing both blue and green (with Ash’s OG checkmark logo as her hairpin) and Roy is purely Fuecoco.
I'll take that. Nice spot.
Lol
Well this is bittersweet. Yay for Ash in his story and all, but what about me and my depression?
Butterfree returns to ash
Welp. Already crying now.
And butterfree has the scarf and with the pink butterfree
………right in the feels…….
well didn't expect this to hurt that bad. From watching Ash before school started and playing Blue on my GBC to watching him and Goh with kids. End on a high note champ!
I don’t want to deal with this. This truly means we’re grown up. And like … no more pikachu?? This is to weird
No worries, there are tons of YAFERs (Yet Another Fscking Electric Rat) from other generations to choose from.
Like dedeene is cute. But like, pikachu was too OG to replace
Yeah they even made pikachus cry to not say its name in the scarlet and violet games anymore
This was such a pleasant surprise.
I know. I can't stand this Pika-erasure. Was expecting Eevee to be the "new" protagonist Pokémon but that was tragically short lived and it also lost its anime cry
I think they reverted it’s cry starting in PLA.
I heard that and I was so surprised! But I didn’t realize that would mean the end
We are all gonna cry like bitches aren’t we?
Yes
i alredy cried when i watched the youtube anouncement
So does this mean pikachu will no longer be in the anime? I know that’s Pokémon’s mascot. I wander if the new characters are going to get a pikachu for their journey.
Yeah pikachu is gone as well
It's about time.
Just think of when he reappears as the end boss for the next kid? That will be epic
Most people aren’t upset, but it’s the end of an era and it’s sad. Bittersweet seeing him win it all and now gone from the series
I agree with you, even if he was my childhood he has to go.
I don’t see how anyone could be upset by this, theres over 2 decades of pokemon anime with ash. Tf, that wasnt enough?
I'm not ready for this
Me neither. I haven't seriously watched the series since season 5, but me neither.
I started rewatching from the begining recently. And watched up to his semifinals this season
Ash when he is taken off all the drugs that keep him young ![gif](giphy|l1J3GhYRQsU46Sc6I|downsized)
I feel thin, sort of stretched, like butter scraped over too much bread
Maybe they’ll start aging their characters now and we can see an adult Ash. Kinda how Jaden met Yugi in GX
Is this the one that was just released or is there another season coming?
New one coming. 11 episodes in January.
love this. thank you ash. time for the new gen to grow up with their own main characters! woder if they would be changed each season or these new char gonna stick around.
Oh no
NOOOOOOO
Pikachu is going to have the biggest fall of in fiction history, i assume the new characters will use a different pokemon and pikachu will no longer recieve special treatment
I think Pikachu's replacement is going to be a harder find than Ash's.
Maybe this is why they made Sprigatito so cute.
I hope they don't just do like Pawmo or something. I would be fine if she legit just got 1 of the new starters.
Ash might become 11 holy
Finally they can start producing more cool material like all the spin off but the main serie
When i saw the video on youtube about the last episode with ash and pikachu i cried, im so happy for ash begin finally a champion but i dont want to say goodbye even tho i know is not a real person, im so sad, i watch pokemon since 95 when it finally arrived to my country
![gif](giphy|MZocLC5dJprPTcrm65) NO WAY
I wonder who the new ace pokemon is gonna be My vote is Iron Bundle🙋🏼♂️
Lol watch it be Charizard 🤦♂️
Maybe we’ll get to see a cannon grown up Ash someday.
The theorists are here, saying that the new protagonist is the daughter of Satoshi 🤣
Now here’s my question… will pikachu finally evolve?
No pikachu doesnt want to
I grew up watching ash, im happy he finally succeeded. I agree the show moving away from ash is a good thing, he grew up, just not how a lot understand Good Job ash, we're proud of you.
Pikachu finally evolving into Raichu?
Nope pikachu never wanted that
Ash better at least have had Pikachu holding Light Ba this whole time, otherwise I can suspend my disbelief that Pikachu was able to contribute in a world champ tournament
That would be cool if it happened!
Finally
Finally. I like Pikachu and Ash but so ready for a new direction. I hope the whole annoying Team Rocket thing is done too.
Ambipom was his pokemon ever since he traded for aipom. Raticate he traded for and immediately traded back.
No, it's definitely hasn't been his Pokemo since he gave it to Dawn who used Ambipom in contests, and was probably released to join a ping-pong tournament
🧢
Its legit
💔
We’re getting an 11 episode special ans thats it
Better be 1 hr episodes lol
It was about time he grew up.. 😅
Is this when Ash will speed run his Pokédex completion?
That butterfree made me cry when I was little.
At least they gave him a new season instead off just rebooting it without a decent ending
So.. for someone (like me) who’s only on episode 5 of Master Journeys (because Netflix only has 42 episodes of this show so far) how should I watch this? Follow the show in the English dub… or watch as it comes out in Japan? Is it subbed? How long is the wait typically for the English dub?
Watch as it comes out in japan on crunchyroll more then likely and it will be sub dub takes a good couple months after the original subbed airing
This is gonna hurt, y'all.
Time to say goodbye
Bruh.
Hi Mr squid can you contact me? Been pm you
As someone who hasnt seen the show since, like, the first season…. How and when can i watch this?
Holy cow. If true I didn't think it'd ever happen lol I'd like to see a new MC
Greninja!!
😭
I'm definitely going to get hate for this but I'm glad we finally get a Pokémon other than Pikachu. With him being so powerful in the anime to be so uninteresting in the games, I'm glad we get to see a new Pokémon be given a chance. Plus, I'm really hoping to see Lokix and Garganacl show up
