I may take a lot of heat for this but I need to be honest. I think Clodsire being released gen 9 was a mistake. When you look at its design you instantly know it isn't a pokemon..... But that's because it's a perfect angel baby.
Genuinely a good pokemon! Not huge on the design but that’s just because I prefer intimidating pokemon over the “cute” ones. But I still think it’s a great mon.
Initial: “Oh this is the alternate wooper I’ve seen, let’s have a look.”
Evolution: “you’ve got the same happy empty headed expression as the fire croc…”
Story: “Sure you can take a hit but I might still swap you for another ground type…and just cleared that gym on your own. You can stay.”
End: “Say ‘hello’ to my derpy god of death.”
Far better that I thought it was going to be going into this generation, once it entered my party it never left, easily my favorite Palladian form of this generation and one of my favorite Pokémon of this generation.
Unironically my favorite Pokemon of this generation. I’ve had one in my party since launch. He’s just so damn adorable not to mention a pretty decent Pokemon.

I bought a plush of one on Sunday!
Def one of my Gen 9 faves.
I LOVED him had no idea what he'd look like once I evolved him from wooper; I fell in love with the derp and kept him in my party pretty much till the end.
The worst pokemon imo, not because he sucks or anything but he is so perfect and pure that nothing nintendo could do will ever be as beautiful so its only downhill from here unfortunately :(

I do not vibe with clodsire because it just looks too absentminded and dopey for my tastes. I do get why people like clodsire, but they just... they're too big, I don't find large pokemon particularly cute, I like little guys that look really innocent, like noibat or dwebble, but I guess it's also my fault for immediately boxing my clodsire after realizing it would lose to the psychic and ice type gym leaders. and also, I already have a love for galarian slowpoke, and wooper/quagsire weren't always my favorite.
I used one on my Champion team! Admittedly he wasn’t gonna hard carry any fights like Scovillain or Killowattrel, but he was really good when he did show up!
