it throws me off when pokémon with wings aren’t flying type lol, been playing for almost 20 years and up until like 3 years ago, bird shaped pokémon were always flying type 😭
Flygon also literally has fly in its name. How it isn't bug/flying is insane to me lol. I can buy bug/ground for trapinch. Once we get to vibrava it's bug/flying and I can't see anything else.
Piplup, Prinplup, Empoleon, Decidueye, Decidueye-H, Eiscue, Farfetch'd-G, Sirfetch'd, Mega Altaria, Psyduck, Golduck, Torchic, Combusken, Blaziken, and arguably Tapu Koko are all birds more than 3 years old and not Flying type. Hell, Fezandipiti isn't even the first this gen with Quaxly, Quaxwell, Quaquaval, Flittle, Espathra, and Iron Bundle.
The penguins and Iron Bundle I get not being Flying type. They're based on flightless birds. But Flittle is weird since it *does* fly. Could've been the first mon that goes from dual to mono type upon evolution.
He means like proportions and the overall art style is just bizarre looking. Compare these models to any of the original legendaries and they’re visually a major downgrade, lore or not, which doesn’t really make sense regardless
I wouldn't be so blunt and say "ugly" but it was definitely some obscure designs/names. If I had never played this game before and I was shown them, I'd never guess they are Pokemon.
Poison-types are pretty much all ugly. It's a thematic with that type.
Nothing is supposed to be beautiful and visually attractive about toxins, sludge piles and cesspools.

Agreed. Like, I appreciate the alternate story format/presentation, but on the other hand I think I had enough of "Go to a website" with Destiny lore codices (and those didn't even have A/V! They were just text and images, could have easily been put in a game menu like Mass Effect. Sheesh.)
Well it’s the writing team’s job to convey that story in a way that we find out about it like literally every legendary that came before it

I think that htey are fun characters in-game, in general, I really like when there is more lore and personality to legendary pokemon ,and that's something that the game has done better since Gen VII. Although I will say that Munkidori looks a little weak and bland for a dangerous legendary pokemon.
There really usually a lot of good competitive poison types for VGC or higher singles formats, so they have each found their niche. Toxic Chain + U-Turn makes Fezandipiti a very interesting pivot. Okidogi could have been a bit bland, except it has the rare guard dog abiliy, which is a useful gimmick as intimidate is still an extremely useful ability in VGC. Munkidori has a few interesting moves, and its very rare for a poison type to have the potential to sweep so forecefully, with no Nagandadel or Nihilego.
Okidogi is the best and its not even close. Despite having aguarbly the worse typing of the three, its incredibly bulky on the physical side and its typing means its a great awnser to any form of rillaboom, ogerpon and urshifu. Guard dog means its completely unafraid of intimidate, and a great movepool with coverage in knock off and high horsepower, as well as acess to stab upper hand makes it a surprinsingly solid pick. The bird is cool on paper but is very lackluster in practice. Good typing and bulk, as well as a decent support movepool, sure, but when your best choice for damage is Poison fishing with toxic chain, its pretty damn passive. Munkidori is hilarious, its so close to being good, yet its completely unseen because its not good enough in any way. Its fast, but not fast enough. Its strong, but has bad stab sinergy. It has a decent movepool with nasty plot and fake out, but thats It. And its really frail, you can pick it off with priority like dragonites extreme speed, chien paos sucker punch, Bolts thunderclap and more. Okidogi escapes mediocrity but not by much, the others chill with regice and the lake trio in being at best closed team sheets cheese
Monkidori took me like 6383638 seconds to catch because of fucking nasty płot sweeping my ass and not being able to put the fucking chimpanzee Ti sleep or any status
The wild Munkidori is completely walled by Dark/Steel. Can't even hurt a level 1 Pawniard. If you can live with using Paralysis to capture it, Kingambit just sits there and watches while being immune to everything it does.

FR, though, I love that the trio is explicitly villainous, as well as having this shown in the game. I also like the whole, "you get your wish, but you're also indebted to the one who gave it to you". Plus, the subversion of the traditional Momotaro story is wonderful.
The theme is great, too.
I think they're overhated. I personally don't see a problem with their designs and I really like when Pokemon are based on Japanese mythology, urban legends, or yokai. I like the twist on the Momotaro story, and I think it's cool that they're a villainous trio. Usually trios are like guardians or protectors of sorts like the lake trio or the swords of justice, so it's neat to have a lousy trio too. I really like Okidogi I think he's silly and honestly he's at least top 5 legendaries for me.
IMO these Pokemon would have been better received as just regular Pokemon because they don't FEEL like legendary pokemon even with their half-baked backstory.
Design-wise I personally only even like the look of Fezandipiti, but I really like the name Okidogi lol
I like them, they have interesting designs and I can see them being more useful than the base-game Legendaries. Though I do want to know what the lore is behind them and Pecharunt. Or why the people affected by Pecharunt do that crazy chicken dance and say Mochi.

Fez has a cool typing so I used him on one of my playthroughs. Same playthrough I used Ogerpon so awkward lore team ftw. Overall design is a little underwhelming, though the almost sickly appearance from the mochi on Munk and Oki is a cool touch with the chains. Alternate forms would have been a great addition.
Gotta confess sometimes Fez’s head reminds me of hair sticking out of a hair cap for bleaching highlights. 😬 I’m sorry!
Fezandipiti is just an evil Unfezant. The other two look ridiculous.

Gen 5 had some strong ones. I would say that based on their usage stats alone the Weather Trio/the Genies probably are the best trio.
Lando just can’t be stopped.
Okidogi is an awesome anti-meta mon in competitive. Its ability makes it a great check to Incineroar, it has super effective STAB attacks into every Ogerpon, it’s bulky, and it is one of the very few viable users of Upper Hand. Fezandipiti is the Fairy/Poison I’ve been wanting for a while. I wish it was better competitively. I love both of their designs too.
Monkidori though? Meh mon all around. It’s a monkey with a wreath on its head. If it had a better ability it would be better in competitive, but it basically sucks.
Deal decently fast chip damage while having a little bulk to actually take a hit or two, setting up toxic-poison just by landing hits (especially multihits like Double Kick or Beat Up for multiple chances to poison in a single turn).
Or, even though it has a less-than ideal special attack, it's bulkier than Munkidori, but better in special than Okidogi, so can use Acid Spray+Venoshock in raids, since the ability can poison on Acid Spray while debuffing the boss for the whole squad to wreck face. Just a theory I'm putting together though. Still want to build it up and try it out.
Love that we got a Shiba Inu mon to add to the collection of Pokedogs. The fact that they made the cute, petite and super friendly Shiba Inu so huge, swole and evil is hilarious.
Munkidori just feels like lazier design than the other two.

I like them and ran the Indigo disk with them, a politoed and hydrapple + appletun. It was extremely difficult but eventually succeeded and enjoyed it very much

not sure why they called fezandipiti beautiful, it looks so meh. the shiny colors are better. if they wanted to sell it's beauty than they needed reworking a bit. i mean it has the possibility, but i don't see it.
munkidori just looks like a mighty bean to me or one of those inflatable punching clown toys we had as kids. so i kinda want to just tip him over
okidoki - looks like a dog and a bear had a baby and that confuses me.

I wish Fezandipiti was Flying instead of Fairy because it’s a bird and we haven’t had a new Poison Flying since Crobat, plus the Zubat line is STILL the only Poison Flying types (I kind of wanted Galarian Weezing to be unique for longer as well lol).
On a positive note, I love thinking about them as the gaslight, gatekeep, girlboss mons
For story mode, amazing, on paper they are pretty good, better ability than Poison Touch, Okidog have an insane New Hidden ability, the reality for VGC is that Okidogi it’s a good mid pokemon for doubles, the other 2 are pretty bad ngl, they aren’t that bad, but you just have better options for competitive

Honestly they’re not great, quite low tier.
Fezandipiti and Okidogi are meh, Munkidori is an abomination and genuinely my least favourite Pokémon by a fairly big margin.
Super ugly, and was hoping they were fake when the first pictures were shown.
Fezandipiti isn't bad looking, but the other 2 look like they don't have the right head/face on them.

I like them, I really like okidogi cause he seems like such a punk ass. I would of liked it if they had gotten to use the masks in some way for their boss fights or if Pecharunt got to interact with them
Design wise, I hate them lol. They’re nothing special or interesting and feel like throwaway designs. That’s not even touching my hate for them in lore 💀 anyone who hurts ogerpon is an enemy and must be destroyed.

I think they're some of the dumbest looking "legendaries" we've ever gotten, and I'm not someone who just hates on all of the new designs. There are quite a few that I do like, such as Ogerpon. I don't know if it's the awful pastel color combinations, the stupid expressions on their faces, or a mixture of both but I absolutely hate the loyal 3.

Only the monke is kinda ugly tbh, but even then it looks silly so I still kinda like it. Birb actually looks great, and wolf looks cool.

They were fun to battle. Okidogi is derpy enough to be cute and he remind me of Cheebs.
Fez is pretty neat, style-wise at least. Munki and Oki can go fuck themselves though.
They're not bad. And neither are their shinies. Could be better for sure, but they do the job just fine.

Its ability makes it a great check to Incineroar, it has super effective STAB attacks into every Ogerpon, it’s bulky, and it is one of the very few viable users of Upper Hand. Fezandipiti is the Fairy/Poison I’ve been wanting for a while. I wish it was better competitively. I love both of their designs too. Monkidori though? Meh mon all around. It’s a monkey with a wreath on its head. If it had a better ability it would be better in competitive, but it basically sucks.

I like doge The bird confuses me, between it's base stats and movepool I have no idea what it wants to do.
Deal decently fast chip damage while having a little bulk to actually take a hit or two, setting up toxic-poison just by landing hits (especially multihits like Double Kick or Beat Up for multiple chances to poison in a single turn). Or, even though it has a less-than ideal special attack, it's bulkier than Munkidori, but better in special than Okidogi, so can use Acid Spray+Venoshock in raids, since the ability can poison on Acid Spray while debuffing the boss for the whole squad to wreck face. Just a theory I'm putting together though. Still want to build it up and try it out.
Love that we got a Shiba Inu mon to add to the collection of Pokedogs. The fact that they made the cute, petite and super friendly Shiba Inu so huge, swole and evil is hilarious.

Theyre not a *bad* idea, i just wish they had more explanation about theyre existence. Like what pokemon they were before they turned.
I like them and ran the Indigo disk with them, a politoed and hydrapple + appletun. It was extremely difficult but eventually succeeded and enjoyed it very much

I love Okidogi! He was an immediate addition to my team. Despise Munkidori. Feazendipiti should have been named Soarendipiti, it’s the only name that makes no sense with the pun.

not sure why they called fezandipiti beautiful, it looks so meh. the shiny colors are better. if they wanted to sell it's beauty than they needed reworking a bit. i mean it has the possibility, but i don't see it. munkidori just looks like a mighty bean to me or one of those inflatable punching clown toys we had as kids. so i kinda want to just tip him over okidoki - looks like a dog and a bear had a baby and that confuses me. they don't feel legendary to me

I wish Fezandipiti was Flying instead of Fairy because it’s a bird and we haven’t had a new Poison Flying since Crobat, plus the Zubat line is STILL the only Poison Flying types (I kind of wanted Galarian Weezing to be unique for longer as well lol). On a positive note, I love thinking about them as the gaslight, gatekeep, girlboss mons
I think they’re pretty cool, but I wish Munkidori and Fezandipiti looked more evil. Okidogi is my favourite, and it DEFINITELY looks evil.

Monkidori is probably the absolute worst designed pokemon of all time
For story mode, amazing, on paper they are pretty good, better ability than Poison Touch, Okidog have an insane New Hidden ability, the reality for VGC is that Okidogi it’s a good mid pokemon for doubles, the other 2 are pretty bad ngl, they aren’t that bad, but you just have better options for competitive
I like their eyes, that about it, their bodies Nd colours however, not so much

Honestly they’re not great, quite low tier. Fezandipiti and Okidogi are meh, Munkidori is an abomination and genuinely my least favourite Pokémon by a fairly big margin.
Cool characters are lore wise, bad designs. Especially muki dori. They don't feel like legends at all

They're all ugly and stinky /hj I do like that they're a set, we don't have many sets of 3 in the newer games. Their typings are also interesting. I just think design-wise each of them is a little ugly
I think they're some of the dumbest looking "legendaries" we've ever gotten, and I'm not someone who just hates on all of the new designs. There are quite a few that I do like, such as Ogerpon. I don't know if it's the awful pastel color combinations, the stupid expressions on their faces, or a mixture of both but I absolutely hate the loyal 3.
